What this 14-year-old said shocked my friend …………………….

This story happened to my friend and is based on real incidents, but to respect privacy and protect those involved, all names and identifying details have been changed. Some events have been combined from two similar situations my friend experienced, and certain details have been fictionalised or modified for clarity and safety. While some elements have been adapted, the core issues described reflect what truly occurred, maintaining the real-life relevance of these events.
Kaylee is a friend of mine and a well-known hairstylist in our city. She lived in the United States and worked with a wide range of clients. Her schedule was packed with appointments, especially with teenagers. These teens often opened up to her, sharing personal problems and details they would never tell their parents. Most of the time, they would talk about breakups or which boys had treated them badly. Sometimes I even heard some of these stories from Kaylee. The teens felt comfortable talking about anything with her. However, one case changed the way Kaylee thought about the young girls who sat in her chair. At that time, she was a senior hair stylist working in someone else's salon.

Hello, one afternoon, while she hung up after having a conversation with me and told me that she was working on some highlights just as she got free from her lunch and ended the call with me. She got a father and daughter duo. It was a stepdad and the daughter, probably just 14, was getting her highlights done and she was pretty excited about her.

Talking a bit about her background, she said that her mother had married another man after her birth father had passed away, and she was actually currently getting hair highlights with the permission of her stepdad. Moreover, she talked about a variety of stuff, and then she started discussing a bit, one of the things that she said got my friend's attention. That was really, really weird, something she thought of, and it became a really horrifying scene once it started unfolding.

She started with a tiny detail that she would love to sleep over with her friends and have fun with them, but actually, those kinds of places do not have a camera, so her father cannot monitor her. This thing made my friend feel very disturbed. It was a very strong sign of having a kind of toxic and strict parenting, yet she talked of it just like we talk of normal things, like our school habits or our lunch break stuff and many more, just talked randomly, just as it did not hold much meaning. She was very careful with her. Moreover, she tried to ask some basic questions while keeping her stance steady, while it was literally her body that started to shake with this bit of intense information, but she didn't expect such a big, disturbing case to unfold in front of her.

Moreover, she continued that her dad had installed cameras in her bathroom and even in her personal room to monitor her. She just pointed out that a week ago, she tried closing her bathroom door once, and that made his dad really angry, and from now on, he is going to keep doing this. He would also watch her from the camera to make sure she has not done something which is inappropriate, like a slut. All of this was really creepy for her, as these were declared signs of sexual abuse and use of power to manipulate the individual, and from a very normal perspective, this was really disturbing and creepy. My friend just felt that all her hair was just standing on end.

She continued talking, and she knew she had only 20 minutes to just have her way out, so she tried continuing the conversation to make sure no one suspected anything. She came to know more stuff that her dad would take pictures of her every now and then and even would sleep with her sometimes when her mother was working overtime, try to kiss her lips, practise sleeping in the same bed, and even take her pictures without a strip of her clothes on every Sunday to make sure her body was growing in a very healthy tone. This was all very creepy and considered child abuse and sexual assault.

Moreover, she said that her father told her that after she turned 50, he would teach her how wives are supposed to treat their husbands, and she instantly understood, but that meant she was pretty much just lured. The moment she just regained her senses, the blood spiked down so high in her body. She felt the blood rush in her, and the father was going to be there in five minutes. She knew she didn't have much time while talking. She came to know many more disturbing activities.

Just before her stepdad could come, she went to the backroom, which was 20 steps away, and made a call to 911 and told the operator of basic information and how the stepfather was coming, so that the dispatchers came back in 10 minutes before the stepdad even came. They took her for questioning when he tried to ask them around why her daughter was doing something like that. He said when the father came, they were actually asked him straight forward why he was doing such activities. The most shocking part was the father actually agreed on everything and he said that yeah she is hers and she is just like her property and he can do whatever he wants to with her or Daughter, the police officers were completely baffled by this and they actually then handcuffed the guy and finally brought the girl to the rescue, who was still unsure of all these activities unfolding before her, form of crying and just thought of them to be merry things. When questioned about the bathroom incident, especially with her mother, she agreed, saying that the rent was very high and she was unable to afford it. Until and unless he wasn't going into any sexual activity with her daughter, it was completely fine if he took pictures.

Moreover, all of this incident is very shocking. From deep digging into his personal belongings, they came to know that, using online platforms and many more websites, she was selling her daughter's private content to individual creeps out there, and he was making money from it for the past two years. A whole chunk of money was confiscated, and actions were taken against him, and the girl was finally brought to a place. This incident horrified my friend and changed her vision completely. Moreover, she tried to focus more from now onwards in case of any such kind of incident.

That is the moral of the story: you should try to dig deep into someone's thoughts, and sometimes, having a conversation or a short conversation like this can actually save someone's life. At the end of the day, that girl might have no idea that whatever was happening to her involved sexual assault, parental abuse, even rape, and many more such stuff like that.

One more note at the end is that the names and the details have been hidden in this to make sure that the weakness is protected. This is somehow related to two real incidents that happened to my friends, and they have been combined. I hope that it is.
