July, 23. 1998.
I had a hard time sleeping last night, so I decided to read through what I had written in here, good god; how the hell have we been through so much in such a short time? I think me and everyone else want to know who this terrorist group is, and what their goal is. Anyway, let's get down to business.
After I stopped writing last night, we started thinking of where we wanted to split up, and where we would want to meet back up, and here's what we thought of.
Duck will go down Thomas' branchline to Elsbridge. We'll be taking Oliver with us as he doesn't have a crew; Toad can tag along too. Neville and Diesel will go back along the mainline, and take the loop to Elsbridge, and since Donald wants to go find Douglas, he will go through Callan, through Tidmouth, and connect back up with us at Elsbridge. Hopefully since we're all covering a lot of ground, it should make finding more survivors a lot easier.
We all left around 11:00 this morning, and we estimated we'll all be at Elsbridge by about 2:00PM at the latest. I'll write in here again if we find anything.
Well, we made it to Elsbridge, and we couldn't believe who was there, it was Thomas! He didn't look good though; his left eye was partially infected, there was blood surrounding him along with the bodies of his crew, and his coaches Annie and Clarabel were off the line and, well... dead. We asked him what happened to him, and even though he was very shaken up, he told us his story.
Thomas' Story:
He was at Knapford with Gordon and Emily. Suddenly, the planes appeared! And the red mist was starting to be dropped! Gordon took off like a rocket! And Thomas followed behind. Gordon was suddenly sent down the mainline, while he was sent down his branch.
He thundered down the line like never before. He knew he had to find shelter before another plane came back. He decided Elsbridge was his best bet even though the shed didn't have doors. Suddenly, a helicopter was above him, and it let out some mist! A little bit of the mist got on Thomas, but most of it went towards his coaches. They started coughing badly, and Thomas started to feel a pain in his eye. He finally reached Elsbridge and entered the shed.Since the helicopter couldn't get anymore mist on him, it left.
Thomas then screamed in terror as he realized his eye was infected! He was about to check on his coaches when he heard growling behind him, he looked back to see they had both been infected! Thomas bashed them backwards and they derailed off the track! After Thomas and his crew (Bob and Ted) had a moment to catch their breathes, They suddenly heard the sound of growling again, this was followed by a bunch of the passengers that had been inside Annie and Clarabel to run out as zombies heading towards the three. Thomas braced for the pain as Bob and Ted tried to make a run for it, but the zombies got to them first and mauled them to death! Thomas could do nothing but listen to his driver and fireman screaming and begging for mercy. Eventually, the screams stopped, and the zombies slowly left the area. Thomas didn't open his eyes for a good while to keep pretending that he was dead. After wait about half an hour and hearing no noise for about 10 minutes, he slowly opened his eyes to see his crew's lifeless bodies laying on the ground in front of him. He broke down in tears and had been here ever since.
When he finished, we tried to comfort Thomas but it was no use as he kept crying. Just then, we heard a whistle coming from the direction of Tidmouth sheds, and puffing into the station with a flatbed in front, and a coal truck behind him was Stanley! He was shocked to see us but was glad he found us as he's been alone the last several days. When he saw Thomas' state, he went quiet. He soon got into the shed with us as we kept trying to calm Thomas down. After a little while, we got Thomas to stop crying, but he was still extremely upset. Stanley tried to cheer Thomas up by telling him that we'd find Percy and Toby which made him feel better. Duck then asked Stanley what happened to him, and he told us.
Stanley's Story:
He was shunting some trucks outside Tidmouth sheds when he saw the planes dropping the red mist in the distance over Tidmouth, he and his crew acted quickly and got Stanley into the sheds before any planes showed up; he stayed in there for two days. Then earlier today, he grabbed a flatbed and coal truck from the yard and made his way up here until he found us.
After he finished, we heard a whistle and a horn coming from the direction of the Fenland track, and into the yard came Diesel and Henry! We couldn't believe Henry was alive but we quickly noticed that Neville wasn't with them. We asked where Neville was and both engines fell silent. We decided to ask them about it later since they both seemed shaken up.
It hit 2:00, and Donald still isn't back. We're starting to get worried about him, especially Duck and Oliver. We're thinking of heading up the line to try and find him, and that's what we might have to do. Alright, it's almost 3:00PM, so me and Erick are taking Duck to try and find Donald. We took Stanley's flatbed for protection and set off.
We made it to Tidmouth sheds, and there's still no sign of him; I pray to go he's not dead. It didn't take long to get back to Tidmouth itself, and it wasn't pretty. Like at Knapford, several peoples dead corpses were on the platform with the same skin infections. Duck looked across the yard and noticed a certain Caledonian 812 sitting in the same sheds we had been in with Oliver. We made our way over to him, and when we saw his face, we were horrified! Half his face had been taken over by the skin infection! He also looked really shaken and was crying; Duck tried to calm him down and tried to ask him what happened, but all he muttered out was, "D-D-Dou-Dougie i-i-is a-a-a-a m-mo-mons-monster...". Our mouths dropped. We decided we would ask what happened later as we set off back for Elsbridge.
A little while later, we made it back and the others were shocked at the state of Donald. We put Donald into one of the sheds as we put Duck next to Henry. While we let Donald rest, we decided now to ask Henry what happened to him, and he told us his story.
Henry's Story:
He was at Killdane with a goods train heading to Wellsworth. He saw Charlie shunting in the yard nearby when the planes arrived. As soon as he saw the mist starting to get dropped, he sprinted out of the station as quick as he could! He just missed Charlie smashing into his train as he was leaving the yard! Just as he was about to exit Killdane, he passed by Murdoch coming the other way with a heavy goods train! Seconds later, he heard a big bump behind him; he didn't pay much attention to it, and continued on.
He sped past Upper Killdane and onto the mainline; he did have some planes chasing him, but this didn't stop him. As he passed under Neville's Bridge, he saw Paxton with a train of fuel tankers heading over the bridge. He suddenly heard a loud crash after he cleared the bridge! He had a feeling he knew what had happened as he continued on. Just then, he saw James speed by with a passenger train! They both whistled loudly to each other as they passed. He passed through Abbey and over the big dipper. Shortly after, he saw Derek getting switched down the old branchline that Gordon went down a few years ago. He then got sent down the loop line to Suddery, and got diverted down to Hiro's old hideout! He raced through an abandoned station, and slammed into an old shed! He got uncoupled from his train as his driver quickly shut the doors, and Henry breathed a sigh of relief.
The next day, he set off to head to Wellsworth. Along the journey, Henry and his crew kept a look-out for anyone traveling, but they sadly found no one. He soon made it, and he didn't find anyone, except an infected Sidney in the banker siding. They needed to be quiet to not wake Sidney up otherwise they would probably end up like him. Soon enough, they decided to set up there for the time being, as they thought it would be safe; but they were very wrong.
A little while later, Henry heard a whistle coming toward him, and he was scared out of his mind! It was Murdoch, but he looked wrong. His eyes were all red, and his pupils were black. He also seemed to have been crying blood, and his mouth had spread apart like some sort of plant which was all red with sharp teeth!
Henry screamed in terror which proceeded to wake up Sidney! Suddenly, he heard a horn coming from the Brendam branch; it was BoCo! He buffered up to Murdoch, and tried to pull him away, but Murdoch was too strong. Sidney then started running toward BoCo until BoCo then gave a huge jolt and pulled Murdoch far back enough to let Henry escape which ended up having Sidney get knocked off the track! Henry rushed away while feeling bad that he had to leave BoCo. As he sped away backwards, he saw Murdoch get bashed into the back of a goods shed, and BoCo then raced away with the orange monster hot on his trail.
Henry didn't stop until he reached the junction before the viaduct, he and his crew decided it would be best to stay in the siding there for the night. The next day, Neville and Diesel showed up. They were going to head up to Elsbridge when they heard a horn coming from Crosby, and an infected Dennis came charging towards them! Neville had to make a run for it and left Diesel and Henry. After Neville and Dennis were out of sight, both engines went quiet as they started their trek to Elsbridge. On the way, they passed by the field that James crashed in back in 1925, but what they saw was horrifying. There was Molly, infected, dead, and on fire! Both of them felt very sorry for Molly and were very distraught by her condition. After they said their final goodbyes to her, they continued on until they arrived here.
After they finished, Donald spoke up and decided to tell us what had happened to him. He had been going light engine towards Calla. As he made his way to the end of Knapford harbour, he heard a growling sound from behind him; this was followed by a loud roar as he realized Emily was chasing him! He picked up speed as he bolted down the line!
Since Emily was an older engine, Donald gained a good distance from her. He had to speed through Callan but was they diverted towards the balloon factory! He slammed on his brakes just before he smashed through the buffers. Emily then sped past heading towards Tidmouth halt.
After he gave himself a minute to catch his breath, he turned around and made his way over to the shed Douglas had been in. When he puffed up to the doors, he called out, "Dougie! Are ye in there lad?" All of a sudden, the doors were smashed open and out came an infected Douglas! The beast coupled up to him and started to infect him! Donald quickly bashed his brother into the shed and sped away!
Donald sped backwards down the line with his brother chasing after him! They eventually reached Tidmouth and Donald braked hard as he made it into the sheds there as Douglas ran past. He thought it was over, but an infected Norman came speeding out from a section of the yard thankfully passing him too. Donald was petrified and even more so when he saw the state of himself. His crew damped down his fire, and they remained in the shed until we showed up.
Once Donald finished, everyone tried to comfort him, but Donald just broke down into tears. I can't believe how many good engines we've lost that are now attacking us, god what has this island become?
We decided to stay here for the night as we're all pretty tired and upset. We're planning on going up Thomas' branchline tomorrow, because he said that Percy was supposed to be at the quarry, and Toby was supposed to be down there taking Henrietta for a passenger run. I think it's a good idea, and so does everyone else. Anyway, I'm really tired of writing, so I'm going to stop for tonight, goodnight.
