Noise of laughter was all I heard as I walked past the vast green field around the hill. Children my age were running away from a girl who was predatorily chasing them.
I just stopped and just there to watch who was going to be the next it. As the girl was getting near the boy, I felt the tense of being chased as if I was him. Then his back was touched.
I couldn't stop watching him for minutes after he was tagged.
He was so happy. As happy as the bright sun was.
I moved and walked around just to...
"Tag, you're it!" A girl shouted and left running after I was suddenly pushed forward and fell to the ground.
But then the noise turned to silence as I stood up.
I removed a tiny blade of grass from my cheek as I looked at them looking at me.
"Who is she?"
"I don't know"
"Does she live here?"
"She can't be the next it."
They were all chatting as the boy was just staring at me with his tired eyes.
"We should just go. Come on!"
As they ran away, a sudden bang terrified my bones. The children screamed and ran away even faster.
"How dare you leave me?!" A lady on the hill shouted as she was pointing up a gun to a man who was with another lady.
"Put the gun down, please!" The man responded. "Just leave us alone!"
I didn't leave.
I just watched them making a scene on the hill. I was just there looking up at the lady's dress blown by the wind, as she was still madly pointing the gun at them.
"You can't marry her while you're still engaged to me!" The lady with a gun said.
"We're not engaged anymore!" The man replied.
"How can you be engaged to her at the same time?!"
"We're not engaged! We were never engaged."
"What?! How about you show her your finger with a ring on it?"
He looked at his hand and frustratingly sighed before he removed the ring. He then raised and showed it to the lady with a gun.
"Is this what you want?" He asked.
The lady tried to hold her tears.
"Is this what you want?" He repeated before he throw it down to her.
She tried to catch it but failed. She turned around to look for it.
"You better do better catching now, huh?" The man mocked before they leave in a rush.
Her eyes were filled with tears as she looked down at me.
As I looked at the ring rolling down to me, there was another bang when she shot the man's back.
The other lady was crying over the man as she begged for her life.
"No, no, no, please!" The other lady said before she was shot in her neck.
The lady fell on her knees, screaming and lamenting, as she held the gun down.
I picked up the ring under the grass and tried to put it on my index finger but it was loose. I then put it on my thumb where it was not too loose.
The lady couldn't stop from crying until people started to show up in the field.
I ran away from there as fast as I could before they got close to the hill.
