I waited for Kumoto to get up and leave, before standing up and starting to pack all the things I would need. I found my bags hanging on my door handles, then I went through them to find my small toy bag, as well as my book bag. After that, I went to my desk to choose a toy.
Today, I chose one of my small unicorn toys called Marigold, a small, white unicorn with a brushable mane and tail. Then, I chose a book to bring with me.
I headed over to the old wooden bookshelf beside my desk, and went through all my books.
There was one I’d been reading recently called ‘Macaroni-Book’ by the author Calcolm Ackenziem, about all the different macaronis, as well as the history, the first recorded piece of macaroni, etc. It’s a really fascinating book. Like, surprisingly really interesting. That’s one thing you should know about me. It’s that I love knowing the history of something weirdly specific. Like, when I was in high school studying art, we had to choose to research something art related. I chose to research the history of textas and greylids. And you don’t even have to ask me to do this, sometimes I’m just curious to know about the history of playing cards, or paper.
I left my room to walk down the old hallway that we built with this house years ago.
Kumoto was sitting on the couch, with Fluffy on one shoulder, and Purps on the other, talking about something, though I wasn’t tuned in enough to tell what it was.
There were a few rays of sunshine, from the sun that was beginning to set, shining down upon all three of them, whilst simultaneously making the room look more orange than it really was.
I stood there, next to the door, waiting for them to notice, so we could begin our walk, but they didn’t see me there, distracted by looking at each other whilst talking.
I decided to make myself heard.
“Hey.” I said, in what I assumed to be somewhat of a loud voice, though they still didn’t hear me, so I tried again. “Hey.” I said, this time louder, while giving a small wave. They all looked at me with surprise in their eyes, unaware that I was standing there.
“Oh, hey. You’re ready.” Said Kumoto, standing up and dusting herself off to get ready, with Fluffy and Purps still perched upon each of her shoulders. Kumoto leaned to one side with Purps weighing her down as he carefully slid down her arm, onto the floor, with fluffy swiftly sliding off the shoulder he was on, down her arm, and onto her hand when she then placed him on the couch. Kumoto awkwardly smiled, as all three of us began to walk to the front door. When Kumoto opened the door, it felt as if the sun was right outside, with just how much heat there was from this fine summer afternoon.
