Kippy and Ren enter the room, as Ren shuts the door behind them, their homeroom teacher Ms. La notices them.

“Oh, what brings you two here?” She asks, pushing her notes for the next class away.

“It’s Danny, I-we have been worried about her.” Kippy says with Ren nodding in the background.

“It’s because she hasn’t been to school. Her father called in telling me she’s sick and even faxed over a sick note.” Ms. La replied.

“Thanks for telling us.” Kippy replies disheartened.

“Wait, Ms. La we are still concerned so could you please give us her phone number?” Ren asked.

“It’s because we lost it.” Kippy blurted it out.

“Sure, let me get it.” Ms. La said, finding it in the drawer and writing it out on a sticky note.

“Here.” Ms. La said handing them the note.

“Thank you.” They both said grabbing the note and heading out the door.

After the door shut Ms. La takes out her cell phone typing out “The wolf and a boy were here.”

The phone vibrates revealing an unread reply.

Outside the door Kippy and Ren read the note “646-444-0006”

Kippy takes out her phone and dials the number.

It starts to ring, then a female voice came over the phone “this number is currently out of reach or has been disconnected.”

Kippy ended the call and snapped her phone closed.

“Sigh, that was fruitless.” Ren said.

“Why would they give the teacher a disconnected number?” Kippy asked furrowed brow.

“I believe this points to the phone number being a fake.” Ren says with a serious look on his face.

“Again. WHY?” Kippy asks throwing her hands in annoyance.

“Wait the real question is how would YOU know that? Kippy thought.

The bell rings

“Sigh, we’ll talk after school is over, okay?” Kippy says turning away from Ren.

“Yes, we shall.” Ren says turning towards another classroom away from Kippy.

Both of them blush even though the other people could see them.

The other teenagers pour into the hallway as they walk away.
