COREBREAKER
Episode 10 — Choice

Agira’s fingers twitched.

Then clenched.

---

The pain should have been unbearable.

His ribs had shattered on impact. His shoulder had been crushed hard enough to crater concrete.

A normal human body wouldn’t have survived it.

His did.

---

Heat surged violently beneath his skin.

Not random.

Focused.

Purposeful.

---

Agira felt it happening in real time.

Bones pulling back into place.

Muscle fibers reconnecting.

Cells rebuilding faster than damage could spread.

The process wasn’t smooth.

It hurt.

Every second of it hurt.

---

Steam hissed from his body as rain struck overheated skin.

The streetlights above flickered violently.

Even the air around him bent strangely, distorted by the unstable energy radiating from his body.

---

Then—

Agira pushed himself up.

Slowly.

Not because he lacked strength.

Because something inside him was still stabilizing.

---

Across the street, the girl stared at him in disbelief.

Rain dripped from her dark hair, phone still clutched tightly in her hand.

“You…” her voice shook slightly.

“That hit should’ve killed you.”

---

Agira looked down at himself.

The torn fabric around his side still remained.

The wounds beneath it didn’t.

---

For a brief moment—

even he didn’t know what to say.

---

His heartbeat had already stabilized.

Too quickly.

Far too quickly.

---

He stepped toward her carefully.

Not threatening.

Measured.

Controlled.

---

Then he extended a hand.

“You’re safe now.”

His voice came out calm.

Too calm for someone who had nearly died seconds earlier.

---

The girl hesitated.

Not out of fear.

Out of confusion.

Like her brain still hadn’t caught up to what she had just witnessed.

---

Then she took his hand.

Agira pulled her back to her feet with ease.

The moment she stood properly, his attention shifted again—already scanning rooftops, traffic lanes, reflections in broken glass.

Instinct.

Awareness.

Movement.

---

The city suddenly felt smaller to him.

Slower.

Sharper.

---

“My name’s Maya,” she said quietly.

Agira paused.

The rain had softened into a light drizzle now, neon reflections trembling across the flooded street.

For a second, he almost answered with his real name.

Almost.

---

Instead, he looked away.

“You should head home.”

---

Maya frowned slightly.

“You just saved my life.”

“And you almost lost yours.”

---

Agira didn’t respond.

Because that wasn’t what bothered him.

---

What bothered him…

was that for the first time since Aria died—

he had acted without thinking about escape.

Without thinking about survival.

---

He had moved because someone needed help.

And his body had answered him.

---

Not just with power.

With intent.

---

The H-Drug wasn’t simply changing him physically anymore.

It was reacting to something deeper.

Emotion.

Instinct.

Will.

---

Agira turned and began walking back toward the shadows of the alleyways.

Didn’t wait for questions.

Didn’t look back.

---

Because now he understood something he hadn’t allowed himself to before.

This power—

wasn’t just survival.

Wasn’t just escape.

---

It was choice.

---

He couldn’t save Aria.

That moment was gone.

Permanent.

Untouchable.

---

But this?

This had been different.

This time—

someone lived.

---

Under the dim glow of a distant streetlamp, Agira stopped briefly and clenched his fists.

Beneath his skin, the energy stirred again.

Restless.

Watching.

Waiting.

---

And for the first time in years—

Agira didn’t feel like he was running.

---

This wasn’t the end of him.

It was the beginning.

Ten minutes.
One target.
No mistakes.

Agira is a ghost—an elite thief who slips through the world’s most secure systems without leaving a trace.
In a city built on perfect order, he lives by breaking it.

His next job is simple:

Steal a classified serum rumored to heal anything.
No backup. No weapons. No second chances.

But when the mission goes wrong, Agira doesn’t just escape—

He takes something far more dangerous than the contract.

And once it’s inside him…

There’s no going back.

In a world rebuilt after total collapse—where power hides behind perfection and control runs deeper than blood—

Some rules were never meant to be broken.

Others were.
