When they walked out, there was still some other students still standing and were talking about Kieren . Kierens friends noticed, but still said nothing and then Kieren finally spoke.

          Kieren- "Guys, I'll tell all of you what happened after we go to my house."

          His friends smiled and then followed him to his home. When they arrived Kieren's mother was already home, getting ready for trick or treaters, but then she noticed that Kieren and his friends had walked in and then she smiled and said.

         Mrs. Thorn- "Hi the three of you how was school today?"

         Marcus- "Well something happened at school with Kieren."

         Mrs. Thorn- "What do you mean something happened with Kieren?"

         Kieren- "Thanks a lot Marcus. Well well, what happened was that there is a female spirit that has been following me around school and she asked for help."
        Mrs. Thorn- "Kieren are you sure?"

        Kieren- "Yes mom, but here is what actually happen. I walked into one of my morning classes and the female spirit followed me and protected me from other spirits haunting the school. The female spirit and I then had a conversation, but then my classmates and teacher had walked in and heard me talking with the female spirit and then I ran to the library where I stayed at until school ended."

        Mrs. Thorn- "Kalon if what you are saying is true, then what is the female spirits name?"

        Kieren- "Her name is Sloan and she told me she needs to help."

        Mrs. Thorn- "Kieren what does she need help with?"

        Kiren- "Well this going to sound terrible, but she need help finding the ones that killed her."

        Kierens mother became shocked and ropped a shirt she had been and then said.

        Mrs. Thorn- "Kieren I'm scared now. I'm calling your father to come home so he can talk to you."

        Kieren- "But mom I'm telling the truth."

        Marcus- "I think he is telling the truth. There have been a lot of rumours that our school is has been haunted for a very long time."

        Mrs. Thorn- I DO NOT want to hear another of this topic until my husband returns." (She walks away)

        Luis- "Well that did not go well."

        Marcus- "Whats wrong Ki?"

        Kieren with tears in his eyes- "My mom has never believed me about my ability to see and speak to ghosts."

        Marcus and Luis then hugged their friend to stop from crying but it did not work. Kieren and then pushed his friends away and ran to his room followed by them. Marcus and Luis then ran inside and tried to comfort Kieren but could not and instead let him cry until he fell alseep.

        An hour later, Kieren's father returned from work, but broke into an argument with his wife over Kieren. Kieren's father then walked up to Kieren's room. Kieren's father then slowly opened the door only to find Kieren and his friends asleep. Suddenly, Kieren woke up and then said.

        Kieren- "Dad your home."

        Mr. Thorne- "Yes I am. Now tell what happened that made your mother upset with you."

        Kieren- "Well,I walked into one of my morning classes and the female spirit followed me and protected me from other spirits haunting the school. The female spirit and I then had a conversation, but then my classmates and teacher had walked in and heard me talking with the female spirit and then I ran to the library where I stayed at until school ended. I even told mom the female spirits name, which is Sloan, and in the end I realized mom has never believed that I can see and talk to spirits then I cried and I have been in my room ever since."

        Mr. Thorne- "Did you just say Sloan?'

        Kieren- "Yes sir"

        Mr. Thorne- "Kieren you know I'm a detective right."

        Kieren- "Yes sir"

        Mr. Thorne- "Well, I was so supposed to work on that case but I never did, because right after she died, her family got everything ready and then left our city for good.

        Kieren- "Then will help me find the ones that killed."

        Mr. Thorne I can't, because there is no evidence that could help us."

        Kieren- "What about all the people in the other side of the city?"

        Mr. Thorne- "Those persons could help out as witnesses, but I'll have to ask tomorrow."

        Kieren- No dad it has to happen tonight or else Sloan will never move on."

        Mr. Thorne- "I don't know bud. It is going to be difficult to do it tonight, but I could try, but it would also take all night."

       Kieren- "Then that is perfect and I can help."

       Marcus- "You mean we can help."

       Kieren- "When did the both of you wake up."

       Marcus- "When you and your dad started talking.'

       Mr. Thorne- "Sorry about that boys, but yes the both of you may help out as well. Although, I would prefer if the three of you went out trick or treating, but I know that the three of you won't. Kieren as for your special gift I will believe you and I'll believe that Sloans spirit still here with us."

       Kieren- "Thanks dad."

       Mr. Thorne- "You're welcome son. Now I'm going to talk to your mother, then we will eat dinner and then we will begin out investigation."

       All three boys then jumped up and shouted with happiness. Mr. Thorne giggled and then walked out of Kieren's room. Kieren, Marcus and Luis then ran to the door to hear any yelling. But nothing happened, so they decided to continue to wait while they sat down on bean bags and began to play video games.

      A few minutes later, they heard yelling, but the argument was getting more intense and then they heard heavy footsteps approaching from downstairs and they moved away from the door and pretended to be looking at their cellphones. Suddenly, they heard knock and became afraid of opening the door, but then Luis decided that he would be the one to open the door. Luis opened the door only to find Kieren's father and then he let Kieren's father inside. Kieren's father then said.

     Mr. Thorne- "Well, the three of you I'm sure that you all heard that argument, but my wife has finally agreed to let all of us to go do the investigation."

     At his words, Kieren and his friends jumped up and cheered. Then Mr. Thorne laughed at them and then Kieren said.

    Kieren- "Okay, let's go do our investigation."

    Mr. Thorne- "Sorry bu, but your said that we have to eat dinner first."

    Kieren- "Okay, we'll eat dinner first."

    The four of them then walked out of Kieren's room and walked back downstairs to join Mrs. Thorne at the dinner table. But the dinner was extremely quiet, then Kieren said."

    Kieren- "Mom, I'm sorry about all this mom, but I have to do this."

    Mrs. Thorne slams one of her hands on the table and then says- "Kieren that is enough, finish your dinner and then you, your father and your friends can go do your investigation."

    Kieren became shocked at his mother for her tone of voice, then stayed and continued eating his dinner. His father then said.

    Mr. Thorne- "Nathaly, there was no need to use that tone of voice with our son."

    Mrs. Thorne- "Adam, we are eating dinner and I would not further discussion about spirits and yours investigation. Now finish your dinner and then the four of you leave this house and go spend your Halloween going ghost hunting."

   At her words, everyone became shocked, then finished their dinner and then the four of them put on jackets, finally leaving the house. Then they all got into Mr. Thorne's car and then Mr. Thorne finally drove away from the house. Kieren then said.

   Kieren- "Sorry about my mom guys. I had no idea she was going to react that way." 

   Marcus- "It's all good man."

   Luis- "Yeah. Maybe one day she will come around and finally see that your powers are not fake."

   Kieren, "Yeah maybe."

   After their short conversation, all three teenagers stayed quiet for the entire ride.

   A few minutes later Kierens father finally arrived at the police station. KIerens father then said.

  Mr. Thorne- "Alright boys, we are here. Now when we go inside there won't too many persons inside."

  Kieren- "What about any prisoners?"

  Mr. Thorne- "There are no prisoners in the offices they are in another part of the building, but the three of you might meet some of my coworkers."

  At his final words, the three boys finally became excited and Mr. Thorne saw that and smiled. Suddenly, Mr. Thorne slowed his vehicle down and then drove into the parking lot. Kieren and his became over excited and immediately got off the car, making Mr. Thorne become upset, but luckily the boys stopped at the entrance and waited for him. Mr. Thorne parked his car and then walked up to the boys and then said.

   Mr. Thorne- "Boys that was not a very smart move to do. The three of you could have become injured, so do not do that again. (The three boys shook their heads yes) Good now let's go inside."

    The three boys became excited again and almost ran but held themselves back and followed Mr. Thorne inside. When they walked inside, they were surprised to find a lot of desk with stacks of paperwork on them and most of the chairs were pushed into the desks. Suddenly, one of Mr. Thornes colleagues walked up to them and then ask.

  Officer Blake Adair- "Hey Xandros, what brings you to the station?"

  Mr. Thorne- "Hey Blake, my son and his friends are going to do an ivestigation on a case that I was supposed to work on."

  Office Blake Adair- "This sounds serious, but why would three middle schoolers are going to do an investigation on Halloween."

  Kieren- "Because I can see and talk to ghost and one of the ghosts at our school asked me to help her."

  Officer Blake Adair- "Oh yeah I forgot about that. Thanks to you we have been able to solve some of our cases. So which ghost asked you for help."

  Kieren- "It was a female ghost named Sloan."

   Officer Blake Adair- "That case was closed years ago, but I'm guessing that ypu want the case opened again."

  Kieren- "Yes sir."

   Officer Blake Adair- "Okay give me a few minutes to talk to my chief. All of you can wait here. There is coffee and water for all of you to drink."

   Mr. Thorne- "Thanks Blake. Tell the chief I said hello."

   Officer Blake Adair nodded his head and then walked away to call the chief of police. Kieren, his father and friends then sat down on some chairs and waited for Officer Blake Adair to return with, hopefully, good news. The boys then took out their cellphones and then started a multiplayer games. Suddenly, Officer Blake Adair returned with a smiled on his face, then he said.

    Officer Blake Adair- "Good news. The chief gave the yes so all of you can officially start yours investigation."

    At his words, Kieren and his friends cheered loudly and were even throwing their fists in the air. Kierens father then said.

    Mr. Thorne- "Boys calm down. We only a few hours left of Halloween."

    Kieren- "Sorry dad. Okay we can start."

    Mr. Thorne- "Good. We are going into the archives room, but the three of you CANNOT TOUCH any of the other files in their. We are only going to get the files of the case of Sloan and then we are going to walk out of there. Finally, we are going to look over the files and look for clues."

   Kieren- "Okay dad. Let's get started."

   Kieren and his friends then followed him to the archives room. Kieren suddenly heard wailing and looked behind him, but nobody was following them. One of his friends then heard the same and said.

   Marcus- "Mr. Thorne, is the station haunted?"

   Mr. Thorn- "Not that I know of. Why do you ask?"

   Marcus- "Because I just heard wailing."

  Kieren- "Me too."

  Mr. Thorne- "If the both of you heard that, then it was Wailing Willy. He is one of the prisoners here that always makes that sound to scare anybody."

  Kieren- "Oh I was hoping it was an actual ghost."

  Mr. Thorne- "No son its just him that makes that sound. Don't worry about it. Okay here we are."

 Mr. Thorne then pulled out a set of keys from his pocket and one of them was a key to the archives room. He then unlocked the door and the four of them walked. Mr. Thorne began to look for Sloans case files, but then asked Kieren and his friends for help to look for them. The three of them became excited and also began to look for the files.

  After several minutes, Kieren finally yelled that he had found the files and then his father told him to be careful when handling them and then the four of them walked out of the arvhives. Then they all became surprised to see another officer sitting at one of the desks working Kierens father then said.

  Mr. Thorne- "Hey Augustine you surprised us, what brings you to the station at this hour."

  Officer Augustine Chorro- Oh shit, Xandros you scared me a bit, but to answer your question. I was doing a report on some high schoolers trying to go into the next part of our city."

  kieren- "Are you talking about the creepy neighborhood?"

  Officer Augustine Chorro- "Oh you must be Xandros's son, but yes I am. Wait a minute, Xandros whhy is your son asking about that."

   Mr. Thorne- "Well, we are going to investigate that case about that little girl that died in that neighborhood."

   Officer Augustine Chorro- "Oh shit, sorry for cussing, but why are you going to do that?"

   Kieren- "Because her spirit came to and aske for help."

   Officer Augustine Chorro- "Oh I forgot you can see and talk to spirits. Well, I wish you luck with that. I'm going to finish my report and then go home."

    Mr. Thorne- "Okay. Alright boys let's sit down and get started."

    Kieren and his friends smiled and immediately sat down at one of the long tables followed by Kieren and then they began to look at Sloans files.
