The Devil and The Designer

Heroes and Hypocrites

Heroes and Hypocrites

May 12, 2026

The Morning After

The sun rose over Mumbai, but the cold intensity of the previous night still lingered in the Mehara Mansion. Reyansh was already in the gym, his movements aggressive and focused. He didn't care about the girls who had been throwing themselves at him at the gala; his mind was stuck on the innocent, fierce gaze of the girl from the fashion showcase.

"You're pushing yourself too hard, Ansh," a calm voice said.

Rey stopped and grabbed a towel, looking over at Aarush Bhai. Aarush was already dressed for a board meeting, looking every bit the quiet and powerful businessman.

"I'm fine, Bhai," Rey replied, his voice back to its usual cold tone.

"Kavya is making breakfast," Aarush said, ignoring his brother's mood. "She wants us all there. Even Aju is coming over."

At the Nanda house, the atmosphere was much warmer. Tanishka was in the kitchen helping Esha Maa, while Vedika sat at the table, checking her phone with a sharp eye. Even in the morning, the "Lady Don" looked ready to take on the world.

"Tanu, you've been quiet since we got home," Vedika noted, her voice soft but observant.

"Just thinking about the designs, Vedika Bhabhi," Tanishka lied, though her mind was actually on the rude encounter with Reyansh Mehara.

Advik Bhai walked in, already in his police uniform. He kissed Vedika on the forehead before sitting down. "The gala was a success, Tanu. Your name is all over the fashion blogs this morning."

Tanishka smiled, her "beauty and brains" shining through. "I'm just glad it's over. But I have a feeling things are just starting to change."

The Meeting at Dil Se

Later that morning, Aryan was in his office at Dil Se. He was looking over the latest reports, his "monster" persona in full effect as he dealt with a difficult manager. But the moment his office door opened and Zyra walked in, his entire face changed.

"AV, you're scaring the staff again," Zyra said with a giggle, placing a coffee on his desk.

Aryan pulled her into a brief embrace, his "majnu" side taking over. "They need to be scared to work hard, Zyra."

"Don't be such a Khadoos," she teased, using her special name for him.

"Only for you," Aryan whispered.

The moment was interrupted by a call from Aju. "The technical grid for the next 'Devil' mission is ready, AV. Tell the King and the Devil that we move tonight."

Aryan's expression turned serious again. The businessman was gone, and the protector was back. "Understood. I'll meet you at the warehouse."

The peace of the morning was over. While Tanishka prepared for a day of fashion, the brothers and their circle were preparing for a night of shadows.

The Secret Strategy

The atmosphere inside the Mehara study was thick with tension. The heavy curtains were drawn, and the only light came from the glow of several monitors. Aju was in his element, his fingers flying across a keyboard as he bypassed encrypted city layers. Though the world knew him as a famous actor, here, he was the digital shadow of the Devil gang.

"The location is confirmed, Reyan," Aju said, looking at the youngest Mehara. "They’re using the old docks to move the illegal shipments. They think the police are looking the other way."

Reyansh, now fully in his Ansh persona, leaned over the table. The rude businessman was gone, replaced by the dangerous leader. "They thought wrong. We don't tolerate that kind of filth in our city."

Aarush Bhai stood by the window, his calm and quiet presence acting as the anchor for the group. "Is the perimeter secure, Aju?"

"Ghost protocol, Aarush Bhai. Not even a stray cat will see us coming," Aju replied with a confident smirk.

Just then, the door opened and Kavya walked in, carrying a tray of coffee. She was the only one allowed to interrupt their meetings. She placed the cups down, her smart eyes scanning the maps on the screen. She knew exactly what her husband and brother-in-law did, and she supported them silently.

"Be careful tonight, Ansh," Kavya said softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I have a feeling the eyes on you aren't just from the underworld anymore."

Rey looked at her, his icy gaze softening for a split second. "I’m always careful, Bhabhi."

The Nanda Workshop

Meanwhile, at the workshop, Tanu was trying to focus on a new sketch, but her mind kept drifting. Mira was sitting on a high stool nearby, scrolling through her phone.

"Tanu, you've been drawing the same line for ten minutes," Mira pointed out, her "cute and hot" personality shining through even in her casual clothes. "Is it the 'Greek God' from last night?"

"No, Mira! He was so rude," Tanu protested, her face turning a slight shade of pink. "I just... I keep thinking about the 'Devil' gang. Did you hear? People are saying they might strike again tonight."

Tanishka looked out the window. She worshipped the gang for their justice, never imagining that the man who had been "arrogant" to her at the gala was the very person she admired from the shadows.

"Well, whoever they are, they keep us safe," Mira said with a shrug. "But you need to focus. Advik Bhai and Vedika Bhabhi are coming for dinner, and you know Bhabhi—she’ll know if something is bothering you."

Tanu nodded, taking a deep breath to clear her head. She had no idea that while she prepared for a family dinner, the man she couldn't stop thinking about was preparing for a war.

The Warehouse Strike

The docks were silent, save for the rhythmic lapping of the dark water against the rusted pillars. A group of smugglers moved quickly, thinking they were hidden by the midnight fog. Suddenly, the power cut out.

From the shadows, Ansh emerged. He moved with a lethal grace that no one at the gala would have recognized. Two men rushed him, but he took them down in seconds—his "Devil" persona in full control.

High above on a shipping container, Aju watched through thermal goggles, his hands steady on a sniper rifle just in case. "Reyan, two more coming from your left," he whispered into the comms.

Rey didn't even look; he pivoted and neutralized them before they could raise their weapons.

Aarush Bhai stood at the entrance of the warehouse, his calm and regal presence making him look like a king surveying a battlefield. He didn't need to move; his aura alone was enough to make the remaining smugglers freeze in fear.

"Secure the evidence," Aarush Bhai commanded, his voice cold and steady. "And make sure the police find it."

Dinner at the Nandas

While the shadows moved at the docks, the Nanda dining table was filled with laughter. Esha Maa had prepared a feast, and the room smelled of home-cooked spices.

Advik Bhai was relaxed, though his phone buzzed occasionally with updates from the station. Vedika sat beside him, looking fearless even in a simple saree. She was the "Lady Don" of the house, keeping everyone in line with a single look.

"AV and Zyra called," Vedika mentioned, looking at Tanu. "Zyra said they might drop by later. AV was busy with some 'business' emergency."

Tanishka nodded, but her eyes were glued to the news playing silently on the TV in the corner. A headline flashed: "DEVIL GANG STRIKES AGAIN AT THE DOCKS."

"They did it again," Tanu whispered, her eyes shining with admiration. "They really are the only ones doing justice."

Advik Bhai looked at the screen, then at his sister. He knew the truth about the Meharas, and he often helped them legally from the inside, but he kept his face neutral. "They do what they have to do, Tanu."

"I wish I could thank them," Tanishka said innocently, unaware that her "Advik Bhai" was their silent ally, and her "Bhabhi" Kavya was currently waiting at home for the "Devil" to return safely.

Vedika caught Advik's eye and gave a small, knowing smirk. She loved the innocence of her sister-in-law, even as she lived a life that was anything but innocent. "Eat your dinner, Tanu. Some heroes are better left in the shadows."

The Return from the Shadows

The black SUVs pulled into the hidden garage of the Mehara Mansion just as the first hint of pre-dawn light touched the sky. Ansh stepped out, his knuckles slightly bruised and his black gear covered in the dust of the docks. The adrenaline was still humming in his veins, his "Devil" persona slowly receding to reveal the cold, tired CEO once more.

Aarush Bhai walked beside him, his suit still remarkably crisp despite the night’s events. "The evidence is in the right hands now. Advik will ensure it’s processed by morning," he said, his voice calm and steady.

Inside the mansion, Kavya was waiting in the lounge with Aju. Despite the late hour, she looked smart and composed. She immediately stood up, her eyes scanning both men for any injuries.

"We’re fine, Bhabhi," Rey said, offering her a tired but genuine look of reassurance.

"Go wash up, Ansh," Kavya commanded gently. "Aju, there’s food in the kitchen. Don't think you're leaving without eating."

Aju grinned, his playful actor persona returning now that the "technical grid" was shut down. "You're the best, Kavya. Mira is going to be jealous when I tell her what I had for breakfast."

The Morning Encounter

A few hours later, Tanishka was walking toward her workshop, her mind buzzing with ideas for her new collection. She was carrying a coffee and her sketchbook, looking every bit the "beauty and brains" of the Nanda family.

As she turned the corner near the business district, a sleek, familiar car pulled up to the curb. The door opened, and Reyansh stepped out. He looked rude and arrogant as ever in a perfectly tailored charcoal suit, his "Greek God" looks drawing stares from everyone on the sidewalk.

Their eyes met, and for a moment, the world around them seemed to stop. Tanu felt her heart skip—not because she liked him, she told herself, but because his presence was so overwhelming.

"Mr. Mehara," Tanishka said, her voice steady. "I didn't expect to see you in this part of town."

Rey looked at her, his piercing gaze lingering on her innocent face. He remembered her admiration for the "Devil" from the news reports Aju had intercepted. He felt a strange urge to tell her the truth, but his cold mask stayed in place.

"It’s a public street, isn't it?" Rey replied, his voice a low rumble.

Tanishka bristled. "Of course. I just thought someone as... important as you would be in a boardroom, not wandering the streets."

Reyansh took a step closer, his shadow falling over her. "Sometimes the most important work happens where people least expect it."

Before she could respond, Aryan's car pulled up behind them. AV stepped out, looking like the "monster" CEO, but his expression softened when he saw the two of them.

"Rey, we're late for the briefing," Aryan said, though he gave Tanu a respectful nod.

Reyansh didn't take his eyes off Tanishka for another three seconds. "We’ll finish this later," he said curtly, before turning to join AV.

Tanu watched them walk away, her brow furrowed. She worshipped the heroes who fought in the dark, yet she found herself constantly crossing paths with the man who seemed to embody everything she disliked about the light.
