He refused to accept the new rule. He kept insisting that vampires were superior to humans. That they had no reason to restrain themselves for beings beneath them.
But when Alaric asked Kaerosh if he truly wanted to oppose the decision, he was free to challenge him. At that time, Kaerosh was not strong enough to face Alaric. And he knew if he challenged him, he would lose.
In the end, Kaerosh accepted the rule. But only on the surface. Secretly, he started going into the human kingdoms. At first, only for short periods. Maybe he killed one or two humans and returned.
“... But one day, when Kaerosh was gone for longer than usual, my father discovered that he had been going into the human kingdoms secretly all this time. But what shocked us more was that, on that day, he was in one of the human kingdoms as well… and he had massacred an entire village there…”
Myor suddenly stopped talking. Just as he mentioned the village, he noticed something in Wox’s expression. The way his jaw tightened and the way his eyes changed. Myor instantly realized that probably Wox had some connection to that village.

“Why did you stop? Is that all?” Wox spoke quickly, trying to hide the shift in his emotions.
“No. There’s more.”
Myor continued.
“When my father learned what Kaerosh had done, he immediately summoned him back. He intended to punish him. But by then… it was already too late. Kaerosh had already won over the other elders. Some sided with him out of fear… and others because he promised them power.”
Myor’s hands clenched. His red eyes started to burn with a fury that had been buried for years, now clawing its way to the surface. When he spoke, the anger bled into every word.
“After secretly drinking human blood for all those years, he had become powerful. Far more powerful than he was before. And after massacring that village and drinking the blood of all those people… his power had risen to an entirely different level. But my father wasn’t going to let him go after he broke the rules. He decided to execute him.”
Myor lowered his head, looking down at the floor. His voice wavered slightly. The fury in his eyes was instantly replaced with pain and sadness. The weight of what he was reliving pressed down on him.
“But he wasn’t strong enough to kill Kaerosh, not after he had become that powerful. In that fight, Kaerosh killed my father, then my little brother. After that, he imprisoned me here.”
When Myor finished speaking, the hall fell completely silent. Neither of them spoke. Wox watched him without a word, standing there in silence. Myor was not looking directly at him. His head was slightly lowered.
Perhaps Wox knew what Myor was feeling because he himself had gone through something similar. He understood the pain of losing family.
When Wox lost his sister, he had completely shattered. But it was the desire for revenge that made him stand again. He turned his pain and grief into anger. That was how he had lived all this time.
But now, even though he had just met Myor, the vampire was reminding him of his past self. If Myor was left alone like this, he would surely become exactly what he used to be—someone who had nothing left but pain and sadness. Nothing else to live for. He could tell, even if Myor did not say that much or show his emotions.
Then Wox noticed the faint shine in Myor’s eyes. The way he was barely holding himself together. If this silence continued any longer, he would probably break down completely.
