The Inevitable question follows of "Then why did you reject me?" But I stand by my theory that Nao has liked him since he joined that soccer team at the LEAST. Souta is a funny guy, but he's always been genuine. Nao has been surrounded by lies and secrecy his whole life, and Souta couldn't be that if he tried. Nao didn't want to lose the closeness they had once he had it for a relationship that might not work out. When consistency is a privilege and not a promise in your life, you dont make those choices easily. Souta's devotion and pain moved him and he pushed through it anyway. I really think Nao has been there for a while. He just didnt think he deserved to have it
