Too late to let it go

After That Night

After That Night

May 13, 2026

NEXT MORNING :
Morning After Disaster
Tua woke up like he had personally fought the universe.
''...I'm never drinking again''.
''Liar.''
Mark didn't even look up from his phone.
Tua turned his head slowly.
Mark
''You say this every time you drink.''
''I don't drink every time.''
''You drank orange juice like it was alcohol once ans still said this.''
Tua stood up
''-I'm dying.''
''Good,'' Mark said clamly, sliding the water toward him. '' Drink''

Tua grabbed the glass dramatically.
''If I survive, I'm suing you''
'' For what,'' Mark said
''For not stopping me''
''I tried''
''You didn't try hard enough.''
''You told me 'respect your freedom' and walked into a pole''
Tua blinked
''..I did not''
Mark finally looked up.
''You apologized to the pole''
Tua froze
''..No''
''Yes'
''No.''
''You said'' I didn't see your point of view

Tua dramatically said 'Delete last night'
''I wish''
Tua grabbed a pillow and threw it.
Mark caught it easily.
'' Violence again?''
''Give it back,'' Tua complained. '' I need emotional support''
''It's a pillow''
''It understands me''
Mark tossed it back to him.
'' Here. Talk to it''

Tua hugged the pillow dramatically.
''At least someone listens''
''Yeah,'' Mark muttered, '' because it can't escape''
Tua narrowed his eyes
''You're very bold for someone to carried me home''
''I didn't carry you,'' Mark corrected immediately.
''You were clinging to me''
''I was stabilizing myself.'' Tua said
''You called me ' human railing''
Tua gasped in disbelief.
''That's respectful''
''Sure''

''Don't twist my words''
''You don't even remember your words''
Tua pointed at him accusingly.
''...Did I say anything embarrassing?''
Mark paused just long enough to make Tua nervous.
''Mark.''
''You tried to give life advice to a random stranger.''
''...That's normal''
''You told him to heal his inner child''
Tua blinked
''..That's valid''
''He was just asking for directions.''

Tua collapsed backward onto the bed with a groan.
''I'm never leaving this apartment again''
''Good,'' Mark replied 'Peace for society'
Another pillow flew across the room.
''Shut up.''
Mark walked over clamly and held out medicine.
''Take this.''
Tua eyed it supiciously
''What is it?''
''Regret.''
''Haha...Not funny''
''Painkiller'' Mark said.

Still glaring Tua took it from him
Thier fingers brushed briefly.
Tua didn't even notice.
Mark did
''Also,'' Mark added casually, '' You kept smiling like an idiot last night.''
Tua looked away immediately.
''..I was just drunk.''
Mark watched him quietly for a moment.
Didn't argue.
Just.
''Hmm.''

Tua pointed at him again.
''Don't 'Hmm' me. I know that tone.''
''You're over thinking.''
''I'm a psychologist. It's literally my job.''
''Then stop diagnosing yourself wrong''
Tua grabbed another pillow threateningly.
''You're about to lose your life''
''Violence is not therapy,'' Marl said, stepping back.

Tua tried to stand-
and almost immediately lost balance.
Mark caught him on instinct.
One hand around his waist.
The other steadying his shoulder.
''Sit,'' Mrk said firmly.
''I am sitting''
''You're falling.''

Mark sighed, but his grip stayed there until Tua steadied himself again.
''...You're impossible''
Tua smiled faintly.
''And yet.. you're still here''
Something quieter.
Softer.
Mark looked at him for a second too long.
''..Yeah''

Tua blinked.
Then immediately ruined the moment.
''Because you have no other friends.''
Mark let go instantly.
''Okay. Fall,then.''
Tua grabbed his sleeve in panic.
''WAIT-no-come back.''
