Who are these people? Where did they come from? And how are they standing toe-to-toe with these monsters? With that monster, the man wearing death's mask.

"Yuna, at your command," the silver-haired boy muttered.

"Of course," the brown-haired girl replied, placing her hands together, like a prayer. Her name is Yuna.

The shock factor of their appearance, however, had faded from the eyes of the white clads, and they dashed towards them, daggers out. At the same time, the man with death's mask fell back with Maya in his arms, her screams filling the quiet night sky.

The guy with silver hair stepped forward, bent slightly and leaning over, he unsheathed his sword. A silver blade that reflected the moonlight in almost blinding light.

With a single swing, he cut down five or six–seven. He is still cutting.

For each one of them, that draws closer, falls. Even though he hasn't moved an inch.

The well-built, spiky-haired guy moved next. "Yuna, follow behind me," he said as Yuna nodded.

She glanced back at me, stared me down, said, "You did well, thank you," and then left with him. "Remen clear a path."

Remen…is his name. He smiled, then proceeded to thump his chest as his skin glowed red and steam flowed off his body.

He got on all fours and zig-zagged his way to each white-clad, taking them out with single hits. A punch, a kick or a knee to the face. It didn't matter.

He moved so fast that most couldn't react, but the ones that did could do nothing. His fists shattered their daggers on impact—no, his body did as well.

What is this guy made of?

What are they made of? The room that was filled with white-clad people now only has their unburied bodies to show for it.

Yuna and Remen ran after Maya, and the other white clads followed in hot pursuit.

"Whoa.."

"Leave," I snapped at his words, staring up at him. "This is not a place for you; only death lingers, so leave". The silver-haired guy said.

He turned to me, staring. Why is he looking at me? He shouldn't care about me. Or did I do anything?

This guy can kill me on a moment's notice; I can't act out. Fearing for my life i began moving backwards slightly as I gently reached for my sword.

"Whether I leave or not is my decision," I said, touching the hilt of my sword.

As I did, his gaze twitched. Oh, wait, is he looking at my sword? Why?

He turned and began walking away, then said, "That sword is very…unique," he muttered. Then, like everyone else, he jumped out of the room, into the night.

*****

My sword.

Looking at it, I understand where he is coming from. My sword is black from the tip of the handle to the hilt and the point of the blade. As well as the scabbard, of course.

It has symbols engraved on it, but I have no idea what they are.

He thought it was unique, huh? Well, he won't be the last, that's for sure. However, "what do i from here?"

I said as I stared at the moon from within this room filled with bodies. I wonder, should I just leave? These people have come to Maya's rescue. Late, but they still came, am I right?.

I don't have to be here anymore, I don't have to do anything anymore. I can go back to Bella and call it quits.

"Sighh"

Walking to the edge of the room. "I wonder what could have blown this wall completely off…but that shouldn't be bothering me.

Sat on the edge and wondered. I can leave and have this encounter be one I remember for the rest of my boring, meaningless life. Or, I can join the fight and hope for the best outcomes.

I don't dislike my current life.

I love my time with Bella, and I always want to be with her.

But the way we're going, one of us will die.

I don't want that.

"But there's that guy…" My hands, my body, I held my shoulders and shivered. I don't want to die, I don't want to face people like that. I almost died, and the shock of everything after that almost made me forget.

Now I really don't want to be here.

I stood up and headed back towards the door. I opened it and put my right foot out first.

"But like, if I die now or later, what would be the difference. I have lived an aimless, frivolous life so far. A life I can't even remember when it started.

Maybe…if I follow them, I can try.

For the first time, I can try to find meaning in my frivolous lifestyle.

I turned and dashed towards the open sky. Running with all my strength, with my eyes closed, I leaped off the open hole into the night sky.

"Maybe I can enjoy this frivolous life a little more if I take this chance, and hopefully pick up some girls too!!"

Ah, God, what am I doing? "Pfftt," I chuckled.

With the wind blowing in my face, I opened my eyes and set my eyes on my target.

The man with death's mask is fleeing the manor with the louts hot on his pursuit.

Time for me to step in.
