I looked at the phantasmagorical view of the commentary, as always, it looks misty and gloomy, as if the people who have departed could walk out of their resting place. “So… why did you think that a date in this coffee house was a good idea?” Michel asked me while putting our order on the table. I adjusted my glasses and took a sip of my coffee, “I kinda know the owner, pulse, this place has the best coffee and sweet bread… Michel?” he lifted his head, his chin had whipped cream and sparkles smeared on it. “Yeah?” I showed him my latte macchiato and pointed to the name written in Sharpie, “Why does my drink have your name?”  he sweated a little, “wh… what do you mean? That totally says “Richard” maybe your glasses are foggy” I sighed “did you use my name so you could order a cutesy drink again to save face?” he put an offended face and acted scandalized “Richard Kinly I did not do such a thing, how could you think that I your loving and supporting boyfriend would do such a thing to-” a familiar old woman walked closer “Sonnie! I heard you ordered our nyan-nyan special order… oh, look is the mean boy that made you cry.” Sandra squinted at Michel, whose face turned scarlet red. “So what do you have to say for yourself?” I asked, smiling teasingly, “I wanted the one with sparkles and the foam in the form of a cat… also, Miss, I don’t do that anymore, it was a misunderstanding.” Sandra looked at me, “want me to deal with him?”

I laughed and waved my hands “Sandra, he is telling the truth, actually we made up” she smiled and nodded “that’s so good Dear, and you better not make him cry again or so help me” Michel was discharged form the hospital a few weeks ago, I stayed with him every day after work, before the surgery and the days after, he insisted that I should be ready if anything bad happened to him, I was there to remind him that he would pull through I told him you have to, if you don’t who is going to pester me? He smiled and asked me for something “if I survive, would you consider living with me?” I smiled like if it was the firs time we met, and told him that I would if we find a place that allowed Mika, and after a few weeks to make sure he was on the clear with the aftermath of the surgery, his hearth monitor started to spike I got scared and called for the nurses but they scolded me when they checked him on and discovered that it wasn’t the condition triggering because of a rupture, I held his hand when the anesthesiologist put him under “did… did I told yo…u?” his words were slurred and his eyes started to close I patted him on the head “what?” he closed his eyes and rubbed his cheek on the back of my hand “I… lo…ve you Rich…” he completely fell asleep I had to fight the urge to fight the nurses and staff when they rolled him away form me “dumbass… telling me that when he is about to have an open hearth surgery… I love you too, come back… please.”

After the date, Michel drove a rented van with all of our things to our new apartment. It was closer to our workplaces, it needed a little bit of work on our end, but it´s a pretty good deal. “You ready?” I lean my head on his shoulder “I think so” he was about to lean forward to carry me, but I was quicker twisted his arm and lifted him off the ground “Hey! I was going t-” he complained but placed his arms around my neck “and let your recently heal stitches open? No way!” he laughed and rested his head on my shoulder “such a knight I have with me” I puffed my chest “I´ll kill any witch and dragon for you” we crossed the door and looked at the empty living room, “do you think it will work?” I asked him he kissed my cheek “It´s not about of if, it´s about what we do to make it work” he held my hands and look me in the eyes “and after all that we have been through, even if at points is rough” I smiled at him “there’s no fight we cannot win?”  he chuckled “you need to lay back from the musical references, but yeah, there’s no fight we cannot win, let´s put everything together Elphie” I nodded, and though, it´s unsure and new I think I like this part of my life.
