Yes, I know.
Danu/ Danann is the same word in irish gaelic, just two grammatically inflected versions of the same (proper) noun.
'Thuata Dé Danann' more or less means 'The people of Danu' or 'Danu's people'.
Here, though, I use it a tiny bit different. Danu is the goddess. Danann is the circle (which will be shown later on). It's the difference between the personification/ proper noun (Danu) and what She basically is/ stands for (The Danann). All will be revealed through the story.
PS: The dog is named Gruff after the dog of Franka, the protagonist in the dutch comic named after her and drawn by Henk Kuijpers. I think the real Gruff might have a bit more brain than this Gruff, though... -_-
