What is the Omegaverse?

Omegaverse takes place in an alternate reality where men get a second set of genders when they come of age, namely Alphas, Betas, and Omegas.

Alphas are at the top of the hierarchy, betas are known as regular humans, while omegas are the weaker species who develop a womb and a single ovary when they manifest, and release strong pheromones when they go into heat.

This pheromone can send an alpha into rut, turning them wild with lust, thus, a lot of omegas get attacked during their heat. This is the reason why omegas are usually shunned and abused by other people, particularly, by the superior alphas.

Alphas are further divided into two kinds – regular and dominant alphas.

Regular alphas have no control over their pheromones and are easily affected by an omega's pheromone. Dominant alphas, on the other hand, can control the release of their own pheromones and have a higher tolerance against an omega's pheromone.

There are no dominant omegas.

They have no control over their own bodies when they go into heat, and need to

drink strong suppressants to stop the release of their pheromones.

Or so, they say.
