Annabeth seemed like she was struggling to read it… “Can you re-write this any neater?” She asked, probably trying to be as nice as possible.
I shook my head no… I had terrible hand writing
“Okay… can you write this in Greek?” She asked.
I didn’t know how to… so I shook my head no
“...okay… can I have that pen?” She asked.
I handed it right over.
And with that she deciphered my mass of questions, with mixed statements by underlining things for her mind to focus on them, “Honestly… I think it may have been Mr. D… that would explain the higher budget for the new cabins I’ve been needing to make… I think I’ll have to make one for legacies too… great…” She sighed.
I nodded as I listened. I ended up making a checkered board out of paper, and little pieces with my pen so we could play checkers while we waited for Will to come back. Somehow I beat her… which shocked her, why was it that big of a deal? Oh yeah… she’s an Athena kid. A warrior of the mind… Heh… the line is from the Epic musical, I wish I could have seen the musical as well. I listened to all the songs. I was so excited. But now I don’t think I will as I’m here now.
Anyway after a while Will came back, with Percy and Leo, and the only 2 other Apollo cabin members carrying in a few injured. Some with chemical burns, some without.
“...Damn… Leo what did you do?” Annabeth was shooketh.
“I accidentally caused an explosion…” Leo sighed, clearly tired of having been asked that question a few times.
“With Percy as his experiment helper… Annabeth, go lecture your boyfriend about these things.” Will asked.
Annabeth’s eyes widened, “Seaweed brain did what?” She got up and went over to Percy and began to chew him out.
So… Will was clearly lecturing Leo, being very overworked now… and Leo who was clearly done with it was trying to argue back about discovery and mystery, and everyone I could sense was pissed at Leo and Percy based off of their side glances and side comments, Annabeth had begun to raise her voice a little with the Percy lecture. There was an antiseptic smell, probably to treat the injured, and a lot of smells basically.
I felt weird… but a lot wasn’t even going on… The lights weren’t fluorescently buzzing, causing my eyes to get burned by the brightness, or my ears to get annoyed with the buzzing of electricity. That wasn’t going on. So why did I feel so anxious? So… so… so overwhelmed?
It just made me confused. I didn’t like it… And soon the lights began to flash and they died out… all over Camp. Everyone in the infirmary went quiet, and turned to Leo.
“Okay… That was not me. And… How did all of the Camp lights go out? I don’t think that’s ever happened…” Leo looked stunned.
“Great… Now what’s next? First the explosion… then the power outage- Power outages don’t happen at camp half-blood!” Will was also shocked.
