Last night was awful, it seemed literally every soul on the ship was out to get me. I had managed to worm my way onto the deck without alerting anyone when I finally caught a break: I ran into none other than Bill Carter! He’s a much better shadow-caster than I am, so working together, we didn’t have too much trouble getting away from the gang thugs. We did run straight into one of them, but he turned and ran when he saw us… I would guess that Bill fought his way onto the ship instead of sneaking aboard, he’s no stranger to violence.

I suppose I should write down that Bill and I go way back, he’s actually the one who found me and Kaela and gave us our amulets… over a decade ago now. We were just kids back then. It’s been years since we saw him last, apparently he has a girlfriend and a baby daughter of his own, I hope we get to see her someday.

I was dead tired and I think I probably lost quite a bit of blood during the night, so we’re heading straight home now instead of finishing the job. Bill says he can patch me up, and I’ll finally get to apologize to Kaela for the fight on Friday….
