Provincial Town [Evan & Jake]

Two childhood best friends promise to leave their small town together.

“One day I’ll leave this town to pursue my dream, to become something bigger and successful” Evan said, as he looked at the sky.

“Yeah I wanted to go too, I want to be a famous artist, I want to pursue that” Jake looked at him and smiled, Evan looked back at him and nods. “Then let’s escape this town together when we grow up” Evan responded. Jake nods and giggled.

As they grew up, both worked hard, both of their urge to achieve what they want grew stronger and close.

“I applied for admission abroad, did you too?” Evan asked, Jake nods “Yes, I did…goodluck to us then” he giggled. “Yes” they laughed, they hangout. They waited for the notifications, day and night, together.

After a few more days of waiting a notification was received, both of them was accepted.

“Yayyy” they celebrated. But, that wasn’t the end. Jake received a call from his sister, his mother is ill and he have to take care of her. It’s an enevitable circumstance, and he had to stay behind.

Their dreams that was meant for them to reach together became a Goal that only one of them was about to make.

One receives a scholarship abroad. 

The other stays behind to care for his family.

Distance slowly turns memories, and those memories into strangers.

Their missed chance was the Circumstances.
