Addressed to the leaders of the Cape May Order
Year 2 AC (After Collapse)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember vividly the fear my people felt when the world went dark. We saw our buildings burned and our children killed.
I remember vividly the day I rode into the cities, and I remember cleaning the ashes of civilization from the hooves of our horses.
The people struggled while you built your walls and kept us out. We cried while you treated us like monsters instead of your fellow humans.
Through the pain, we came together and restored some semblance of order in our streets.
That is all history. Written but not forgotten.
Today, I received word from my soldier. The one you sent back with blood and swollen limbs.
All we wanted was some of the freshwater in the Pine Forest.
Was it a crime to want our people hydrated? It wasn’t.
Was it a crime when you killed my people for being thirsty? Indeed, it was.
You thought sending a single survivor back with a message would break us. It didn’t.
I am not one to make empty threats, so heed my warnings with full caution.
You wanted war, now you have it.
We will take the Pine Forest, and the freshwater will be ours.
We will march on your mighty wall and reduce it to rubble.
I will make sure your streets bleed with the blood of your people, as mine did once.
You wanted to test the Realm?
Come here and find out how we handle pests.
This letter is your only warning.
For Order. For the Realm. For all within.
With disgust,
Hazren Dara
King of the Realm
