[BL] The Wind To Your Mist

Chapter 8: It's Almost School

Chapter 8: It's Almost School

Jun 10, 2026

A month later…

July 19, 2025. Saturday.

9:00 PM

Today marks the end of the summer party hosted by the school, which meant the Smith family got to finally go home.

Every Smith had their respective activities during the month. Iris spent most of the month working in her own animal shelter, coming home with nothing but joy and satisfaction.

Alex, who couldn’t be bothered to stay for one whole month at the school despite Isla’s terrifying insistence, spent the entire month playing video games in the room he specifically had built inside the cafe he worked at.

Theo spent his month chatting with fellow engineers, while Isla spent her month with the moms while chaperoning the event, as usual.

And unlike Iris, Felix came home with nothing but boredom and exhaustion in his mind after spending the remaining weeks at the school.

Ley leaned at the end of the third-floor staircase, leaning his back against the wall, waiting to greet Felix, only to hear an exhausted sigh.

“You sound exhausted,” Ley said abruptly, surprising Felix.

“Oh, you’re here.” Felix paused. "Were you waiting for me?”

“You make it sound like it’s unusual for friends to do that…” Ley remarked

“You’re right, I’m sorry," Felix apologized. “Huh. You look different.”

“Yep. I think I finally hit my normal weight,” Ley mentioned. “Do I look like a normal healthy teenager now?”

“Wow… You look beyond healthy,” Felix exhaled in awe. “And you look handsome.”

“Huh… why am I only getting compliments now?” Ley said accusingly. “Did I not look handsome before?”

Felix could only express an exhausted and panicked look as he responded with silence toward Ley's accusatory remark.

“Wow… you’re still not used to this," Ley said, surprised by Felix’s reaction. “Relax. It’s a joke.”

“So… was the party… fun?” Ley said, peering.

“You… could say that,” Felix flatly answered.

“Ahh…” Ley remarked. “It’s not your vibe, is it?”

“You could also say that,” Felix said wearily.

Felix had a question he wanted to ask Ley and while his exhaustion prevented him from recalling it, his curiosity was stronger.

“Wait. How did you get that much weight in just one month?” Felix asked. “Because I know you didn’t get it from just eating snacks.”

“Your mom had an insane amount of food delivered for me to eat in my room for the entire month,” Ley answered.

“I see," Felix said flatly. “Good for you.”

“Jeez. You shouldn’t really sleep now. So, good night.” Ley sighed, watching Felix enter his room before entering his own.

…

A day later.

June 20, 2025.

As the sunlight bloomed towards Ley’s room, filling the entire space with its nutritious light, Ley was forcefully awakened.

Jeez… this much sunlight on someone who’s very much not a morning person. Ley woke up to the sight of intense, bombarding light.

It was almost time for breakfast, Ley saw on his analog clock, but he didn’t find Felix standing outside Ley’s door waiting, as he normally would.

Welp… I mean he did sound exhausted last night. Ley stared at the door, waiting for Felix’s knock, only to hear silence.

Well… Maybe I should wake him up… unless that’s rude? Ley pondered outside Felix’s door before gently knocking three times.

“Wow. I don’t think I’ve seen you in your morning hair,” Ley remarked, entering the room through Felix’s courtesy. “Probably because you always fix it first thing in the morning.”

“Yeah—” Felix instantly nodded. “Wait—how did you know that?”

“I can be observant, you know…” Ley mentioned. “And you like being neat, don’t you?”

“Sure,” Felix answered, still clearly exhausted. “I must have gotten too tired last night, so I woke up late.”

“Ahh…” Ley responded. “So… I hear you’re still busy starting tomorrow and all of August."

“Yes. The enrollment is starting and the school is using us—the children of rich parents—to advertise the school to other rich parents,” Felix explained.

“That sounds like the school’s whoring you out," Ley said humorously. “Ooh… and I bet a lot of students enroll because of your handsomeness.”

“Yeah, and that might be true, actually,” Felix replied as he fixed his morning hair in front of Ley.

“I guess we won’t be seeing each other again for a month…” Ley pointed out. “So you better not miss me too much.”

“Good one,” Felix smirked, ending the conversation so that the two could go downstairs for the usual family breakfast routine.

Felix waking up late wasn't the only thing unusual today in the Smith household, as Iris moved confidently and comfortably during breakfast, making the family shocked.

But only Felix knew that Ley might have won over Iris through that compliment he heard firsthand toward her last month in the animal shelter.

The tradition of Ley being the first to leave the dining table finally vanished after Felix was successfully matching his speed in eating, leaving the table only a second after Ley did.

It felt nice observing Felix eat fast just so I wouldn't be the first one to get up from the dining table, but he just wasn’t going to catch up to me, so it was a good thing I slowed myself down a bit. Ley smiled as he climbed upstairs.

And since Felix and Ley were done eating together at the same time, they also climbed the stairs together simultaneously.

“Something bothering you?” Ley leaned his back against the wall at the end of the staircase in the third-floor hallway, asking the bothered Felix. “You look like you need to ask me something.”

“Okay. I’ll just ask it,” Felix defeatedly sighed. “What advice do you have for someone who’s easily bored?”

“Uhh… I’m not really qualified to answer that,” Ley answered. “Unless that easily bored someone is you.”

“Wow,” Felix exhaled, wanting to deny it only to realize that Ley wouldn’t believe him even if he denied it. “You figured me out that fast.”

“Well… you’re just not that good at being… subtle,” Ley said. “And I haven’t seen you with any type of headset or earphones, so am I right to assume you don’t listen to any type of music or any music at all?”

Felix stared at Ley in disbelief. What? He was able to deduce all that information just by observing what I don’t have?

“Uhh, yeah—yes. I don’t listen to music,” Felix answered.

Wow… This is the first time I’ve heard and met someone who doesn’t listen to music. Or maybe he’s just chronically offline compared to someone who’s chronically online like me. Ley internalizes.

“Then… you should listen to music,” Ley suggested.

“I see,” Felix flatly replied. “What do you recommend, then?”

“Hmm… I’d say that there are just some things that we should explore on our own,” Ley started. “So… I’d recommend exploring your Spotify or your other music streaming apps for songs you like.”

“Because my taste in music is too gay for you,” Ley added.

Is he joking? He didn’t sound like he was joking… He’s probably serious. Felix pondered.

“Oh, okay. Thanks,” Felix said gratefully.

As the two ended their conversation, Ley immediately planned on how he was going to entertain himself for the next month, while Felix was casually strolling through Spotify, looking for songs to listen to.

…

A month later…

August 29, 2025.

8:30 PM

In the month that Felix blasted his earphones with music from artists he found great songs with, he became like a new person because of it, now someone who is incapable of being bored again.

Jesus. It’s already the twenty-ninth of August? That would mean a month has already passed… Ley stared at the date on his phone as he lay down on his bed. And as the light from his phone disappeared after closing it, his thoughts began to flow.

Oh, wow. That computer set is really good. I think I’ve had it turned on ever since Felix went to that enrollment event. Which basically meant I’ve been playing my favorite interactive game where you build your factory for nine hundred and thirty-six hours?!

Well, technically I didn’t play anything. I just had the game on the computer, grinding AFK while I watched my entire watch list.

Hmm… Is it wrong that I snooped into Felix’s room, seeing he’s not there? Though… it’s not like I found anything weird or incriminating. If anything, it was pretty boring.

Well… I feel weird about it, but I’ve always felt when I snoop, so it’s nothing new! But… I did find it weird that he didn’t have any sex toys like a Fleshlight or a pocket pussy, which, thinking about it now, makes sense because why would you need fake ones when you can attract actual girls using richness and handsomeness?

Okay, enough of Felix! It was incredible how much I was able to learn of my powers… Like I lost the ability to poop and pee, which was kind of a relief because I’ve always had a weak stomach and bladder. And… my body also reached a level of durability where my skin became near impenetrable, which I was only able to know because I tried using razors on my wrist.

And like the pro gamer that I am, if I do say so myself. I think I have multiple powers, or two main ones. Telekinesis and Enhanced Physiology. Telekinesis is pretty much easily explainable. While enhanced physiology enhanced my five senses and turned my body into something that is more adaptable and comfortable to my likings. But anyways, I think Felix just got home.

“Oh, you’re back already,” Ley said, having opened his door from Felix’s gentle knocking. “I’m not going to ask you if you had fun because you might not have.”

"I'm not so sure about that…” Felix said skeptically.

“I see. Good for you,” Ley voiced his relief. “The music helped, didn’t it?”

“Yes, it did, so I’m very grateful that you recommended it,” Felix said gratefully. “Hey… I think you should know the ins and outs of the school we’re about to go into…”

“Hmm…” Ley pondered. “Why?”

“What?” Felix said unsurely. “What do you mean ‘why’?”

“I mean… why do I need information?” Ley asked, curious about the answer.

“So you can be prepared?” Felix explained.

“Eh… well, the offer’s nice and all, thank you.” Ley paused. “But… experiencing a whole new school with an entirely new culture with no prior knowledge is kind of fun, don’t you think?”

“Oh, so you’re an adventurous type of person?” Felix exhaled in fascination after deciding not to push the topic any further. “So… are you ready for school?”

“I only need an iPad, don’t I?” Ley answered. “And Mrs. Smith told me that I would have a locker in school, so I wouldn’t need to bring a bag or anything because everything in the school is free.”

“Well. You should enjoy the last weekend before school," Felix remarked as he parted, entering his room.

“You bet I will," Ley said excitedly.

“Hmm…” Ley pondered, stopping Felix from entering his room. “Wait, never mind.”

“Stop,” Felix declared, his authority felt deep, stopping Ley from abruptly entering his room. “Did you have something you wanted to say to me?”

“I…” Ley hesisted. “It’s just that… we might not be able to interact or talk as much in school as we do right now.”

“I had thought about that too,” Felix reciprocated. “I was afraid it’d offend you if I were unable to interact with you as much on school grounds.”

“Well… It makes sense, given the dynamic of a school filled with children of wealthy parents,” Ley responded.

“So that does mean you won’t be offended if we can’t converse as we do right now in school?” Felix asked.

“Please…” Ley said confidently. “I’ve been on Twitter stan wars, so I can be a pretty tough bitch.”

“I see…” Felix said unsurely, unable to understand what Ley meant. “Alright, then. So what are your plans for your last weekend?”

“Bury myself in the bed, probably—wait, no, definitely,” Ley said vaguely. “How about you?”

“I’ll spend the weekend in advance studying, I guess," Felix answered.

“Wow… you’re the good student type of person, huh?” Ley said playfully. “Good for you.”

“Yeah,” Felix smirked, bidding farewell right before the two both entered their rooms, closing the doors on each other. “Enjoy your weekend."

“You, too,” Ley said back.
