September 1, 2025. Monday.
6:30 AM
Alright! It's September 1 and six thirty in the morning, which means today's the first day of school. Ley excitedly exclaimed as he woke up from his sleep.
After Ley and Felix woke up, they immediately went downstairs to dine together with the family for the routine breakfast.
After Mrs. Smith prepared her pancakes, filling the entire kitchen and dining table with their amazing smell, the family ate their breakfast.
"So, are you excited for school?" Mrs. Smith enthusiastically asked Ley.
"Definitely, Mrs. Smith," Ley answered confidently.
"The bus will arrive at our house at seven fifteen, so you guys prepare quickly after your breakfast," Mrs. Smith said informatively as she focused her gaze on Ley.
After finishing breakfast, Felix immediately started his day like usual. He fixed his morning hair after waking up, ate breakfast, showered, and then wore his uniform.
Okay! I'm done taking a bath, which, even though I don't need because of my powers, I still do because it's like therapy to me. Ley exhaled. And my hair is always going to be messy, so I don't need to fix it. Or should I? I mean... messy hair looks good on me, so it's fine if I didn't.
Wow... Is this what it feels like to be a skinny bitch? I look hot, and my body image insecurity just committed suicide! Ley exclaimed as he admired his reflection on the mirror. Damn! I look good in this uniform.
...
A few minutes later...
7:15 AM
As time approached quickly for the arrival of the bus, Ley and Felix immediately went outside and stood on the pavement in front of the Smith house.
"You look sharp," Felix said nonchalantly.
"Thanks, you too," Ley replied, embracing the cool breeze of the morning. "So... do you have a usual seat in the bus?"
"At the back," Felix answered flatly.
"I see," Ley responded. Huh... The tone of his voice changed. He's like a soulless robot now or a closed-off person. Welp, the bus is already here.
Felix confidently took the lead for Ley as he stepped first inside the bus, while Ley admired the sight of the bus' luxuriousness, having finally seen it upfront.
"Huh... It's empty," Ley said, confused at the empty bus seats in front of him."
"Makes... sense..." Ley said doubtfully.
"Sit here in the back with me," Felix abruptly offered.
"No... thanks. I should sit here in the middle seats," Ley declined. "Because the back is probably reserved just for you and your friends. Am I right?"
"You could say that," Felix answered.
After Ley took a seat in the middle and Felix took his seat at the back, they left the Smith household, and then the wealthy children from different rich households overtook the seats of the bus one by one.
"Who's that sleeping kid?" Mikay quietly asked Felix after boarding the bus.
"That's the foster I told you about at the summer party," Felix whispered back.
"Oh, wow... sleeping on this bus, huh?" Mikay remarked. 'I'm not sure whether to call that bold or stupid."
"That's a bold move I like!" Jay energetically whispered as he stood in front of Felix and Mikay. "So... do you guys have any idea who that sleeping dude is?"
"Foster," Felix flatly answered.
"Ooh... okay, but I'm still not used to you talking and not just nodding," Jay said, taking a seat. "Huh... should we invite the dude to our circle? I mean... he's a Smith by association."
"I don't think he wants that," Felix responded.
"How would you know?" Mikay asked, giving Felix a confused stare.
"Yeah, dude... How would you know?" Jay emphasized as he matched Mikay's confused stare, looking at Felix.
"He implied it," Felix answered. "I mean, he told me he wanted to experience the school without any prior knowledge, that's all."
"Just plain stupid after all," Mikay said disappointedly. "That attitude would have been better in any school except ours."
"Damn. He's a really bold person," Jay said in awe. "But, yeah. It's stupid of him not to learn anything about our school."
As they ended their conversation, the bus later became crowded, student by student. But even though the bus became filled, the seats surrounding the sleeping Ley remained empty.
Mikay, who had always been bothered by the noise that the students in the bus exuded, focused her gaze on the sleeping Ley.
"He's still asleep even after being surrounded by noisy shitheads," Mikay whispered, her awe and irritation loud enough only for Jay and Felix to hear. "I thought I'd feel guilty seeing him peacefully sleep, but it just makes me jealous."
"Then sleep, hoe," Jay bantered.
"It'll ruin my rep, dumbass," Mikay bantered back.
"Who cares?" Jay said dismissively. "Well... unless you're an ugly sleeper, do us a favor and never sleep."
Mikay grinned and gave him a playful slap on his chest after Jay laughed at his own joke, while Felix silently sat near them.
The bus stopped on its tracks in front of the school parking lot as it arrived at Goltear Academy at seven thirty in the morning.
"We're here. Shouldn't you wake him up?" Mikay leaned towards Felix and whispered.
Felix wanted to wake Ley up, but after being bombarded by everyone's stares as they waited for the three—Felix, Mikay, and Jay—to exit the bus, he hesitated.
Oh my god!!! The bus finally stopped moving! I thought my powers would remove my motion sickness, but it just got worse because of how fast my thoughts could be!!! It was a good thing sleeping helps. Ley tilted his head upwards, seeing the still bus. Alright! Let's exit this bus before I throw up.
Ley immediately stood up from his seat, got out of his section, and exited the bus. Though he observed that nobody had gotten out of the bus before him.
The students on the bus observed Ley from the moment he stood until he exited the bus. And as he finally stepped outside, they immediately shifted their gazes back to the three—Felix, Mikay, and Jay—who were sitting at the back.
All of them gave the trio scared stares, terrified of the reaction to Ley being the first one to leave the bus before them. But the trio clearly had no issue with it since they know he's a Smith by association.
Ley stared in awe of the surroundings as he entered the school. Wow! This place is infinitely better than what I unrealistically expected! Though... I am getting uncomfortable attention and stares as I walk...
Oh. It's not me they're staring at. It's Felix and his friends. Ley realized, seeing the three walk into the student-filled, spacious hallway of the school. Woah... I can see why they're staring.
A body that is visually desirable, silver-colored hair that perfectly contrasts with her beautiful black skin, and a gorgeous face only a model could have. Ley observed Mikay. There's also a hot guy next to her. Oh... I can see how Felix isn't a racist. A stunning dark-skinned Black girl and a cute Japanese guy. Staring at them from afar... They look like royalty. Which makes sense that they're the popular kids of the school, with empirical evidence right in front of me.
Oop. I don't know how to get to the classroom... Ley paused. I should just follow Felix since we're in the same class anyway.
After following the three, Ley hastened his walking after spotting the classroom, arriving before the three could. There it is! Classroom Gold Star. The name is low-key cringe and funny, but I would like to know where it came from.
"Wait, look," Mikay whispered as she guided Felix's and Jay's gazes to Ley, who was standing outside the classroom.
The two wanted to see what Ley would do next, so they complied in silence as the trio kept their distance as they observed Ley, close enough to see him.
Oh... This room is too luxurious compared to any classroom I've ever entered. Ley observed in awe. There are only twenty chairs... five chairs in each row, and there's a massive gap between chairs.
Alright! Let's take the rightmost last-row seat. Ley exclaimed, entering the classroom. It should be fine, right? The seats aren't arranged anyway.
Ley sighed in his comfortable seat, admiring the outside scenario through the huge windows in his left view, seeing no one had entered the room.
The students outside, who were waiting for Felix, Mikay, and Jay to enter the classroom, watched as Ley sat in Felix's supposed seat.
Seeing Ley sit in the seat that had always been for Felix, Mikay and Jay panicked, feeling an uneasy sensation as they stood close to Felix.
In the moments they stood there frozen, memories of the terrifying glares Felix always gave to students who accidentally sat on his seat resurfaced.
"Fuck, he took your seat," Mikay said uncharacteristically. "I'll go tell him quick."
Felix always needed to have that specific seat, and he's always made sure that everyone knew that, even himself.
It's just a seat, something not that trivial to bother Ley about. Felix reminded himself.
"It's fine," Felix unbotheredly said. "I'll just take the seat next to him."
A soft spot, huh? Mikay's and Jay's minds linked for a second, surprised after hearing Felix's unbothered attitude towards Ley.
After Felix took the seat on Ley's right, Mikay on Felix's right, and Jay on Mikay's right, the room later became filled with students.
To be continued on next part...
