Monroe scribbled on her clipboard, writing down notes from the scene they had just shot. She could see out of the corner of her eye; Marissa Summers was approaching her. She sighed, she hated dealing with her, she was rude, and she was entitled. Monroe tried to ignore her as she neared her.

“Excuse me. I said excuse me!” Marissa yelled out to Monroe.

Monroe painstakingly peeled her eyes off her clipboard; meeting Marissa’s with a strained smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “How can I help you, Ms. Summers?”

Marissa was taller than Monroe; Monroe stood at 5’3 whereas Marissa appeared to be about 5’11. Marissa stood before her, with her arms crossed, towering over her. Her eyes were cold and almost bored. “Water. Now.” She demanded.

Monroe stared at her dumbfounded. The set was crawling with assistants whose sole purpose was to get Marissa and the rest of the talent anything they wanted, so then why was Marissa walking up to her and demanding water? “Um, the coffee was a courtesy. Getting you water is not a part of my job.” Monroe said firmly.

Marissa eyed Monroe for a moment. Trying to figure her out. “Is this your way of getting back at me because I flirted with Darcy?”

Monroe glowered at Marissa, anger taking over her features. “Mr. Hart has nothing to do with this. Getting you coffee or water is simply not my job.”

A frown appeared on Marissa’s face, Monroe didn’t fear her enough, she would have to change that. “You’re pretty outspoken for a script supervisor. I guess sleeping with a producer has its benefits.”

Monroe leaned in with anger. “Excuse me?” The nerve on her!

Marissa leaned down toward Monroe, practically whispering in her ear. “Oh, don’t be coy. That’s why you’re with him, to further your career. I mean he’s easy on the eyes but why else would you be with him? You must not be very good at your job if you need to sleep with a producer.” She laughed as she continued. “The legendary producer and director Darcy Hart. You’re not stupid, I’ll give you that.”

Monroe opened her mouth widely as if she was going to scream, but instead she fell silent, doing her best not to lose composure. Yelling at Marissa could get her fired, she had to be careful. She began speaking calmly, with an edge of irritation to her voice. “Darcy and I are together because we love each other.”

Marissa waved her off dismissively. “Sure you do.” She leaned away from Monroe, her hand traveling to her hair as she tucked a loose copper strand behind her ear. “Well just so you know, I’m into producers. And he is the holy grail of them. So, you just watch yourself.” She finished as she walked away.

Monroe stood with wide eyes as she watched Marissa walk away. She wants Darcy? How could she compete with the likes of Marissa Summers? She was the most sought-after actress in the business and one of the most beautiful women in the industry. Monroe was just another spoke on the wheel, a nobody. Her head went through all sorts of terrible scenarios where Monroe always lost Darcy to Marissa. I can’t breathe. I have to talk to Darcy.

Monroe hurried to Darcy’s office, knocking nervously once she reached the door. He welcomed her in, his face breaking into a smile once he spotted her. He left his desk to meet her; he hadn’t seen her all day. “Hey love. How are you?”

Monroe felt sick to her stomach. “I just had a run in with Marissa Summers, she—”

Darcy brought his arms up defensively, trying to sooth her. “Calm down, sweetheart. What exactly did she say?”

“She called me a climber, insulted me, and then she said she was interested in you and that I better watch myself.”

Darcy’s eyebrows pinched in confusion. “That’s outrageous, she just met me.”

“And she knows I’m your girlfriend! But that doesn’t seem to matter to her!” Monroe added.

Darcy stared at Monroe with wide eyes as he spoke. “Are you…jealous?”

Monroe’s eyes broke away from his with embarrassment. How could she not be jealous? “I don’t know…maybe. Yes. Yes, I am jealous.” She admitted.

Darcy reached for her face, caressing her cheeks gently as he spoke. “My darling, there’s nothing to worry about. I haven’t the slightest interest in her, how could I ever when you’re standing next to me? I know it can be unsettling, but this kind of thing happens to me all the time. People get a little too interested in me. It comes with the territory.”

This did nothing to ease Monroe’s nerves. If anything, it made her feel worse, her boyfriend was always going to be coveted by people. Monroe felt like she was in competition with them, and she was sure that one day she would lose. “That doesn’t make me feel better.”

Darcy couldn’t understand why Monroe was doubting him right now. The attention he got was unwanted, but she seemed to think she had to compete for his attention. Did she not understand yet that she was everything to him? That no matter how many people tried to get with him he was never going to have eyes for them simply because they were not Monroe. He tried to be understanding, after all when he thought he had lost her, back when he left rehab, he had felt incredibly jealous of Dave only to find out there was nothing to be jealous of. She hated him and wanted nothing to do with him. “I’ll stay away from her, don’t worry.”

Monroe’s brows furrowed with concern. “You’re one of the producers, how are you going to do that?”

“I have my ways. Just trust me.” He said to her with ease.

Monroe stared into his eyes; she could see the sincerity of his words. This reassured her more than he could possibly know. “I trust you.” She said as she stood on her tippy toes, in search of his lips. When their lips met, Darcy felt a wave of warmth coursing through him. This is the only place I want to be.

Darcy and Monroe walked up to the front door of their new home with a pair of boxes in each of their arms. They had chosen a more modern home; it was deep red with black accents across the outside of the house. The first floor had giant bay windows that revealed a giant living room. They walked in through the front door, setting their boxes down once they reached the kitchen. “Are you excited? To be moving in finally?” Darcy asked her as he organized his boxes.

Monroe inspected the room, taking in the sights. “I’m very excited! It’s our first home. I can’t believe it.”

They had already picked out furniture, the only thing left was to move in their things. Monroe didn’t have much, her studio apartment didn’t allow many things, so she only had a few boxes. She figured now that she had a real home, she could begin buying stuff.

Darcy had a considerable number of things, stuff he had put into storage once he moved into his old apartment. Monroe watched him as he continued carrying boxes into the house. She noted a couple of boxes labeled “Awards.” She opened them only to be met with several dusty recognitions. He had won all kinds of awards, important ones too.

When Darcy walked back into the house carrying another box, he froze as he watched Monroe inspect his awards. She looked up at him with curiosity. “Are these the awards you’ve never displayed?”

Darcy set his box down and walked over to Monroe, taking a Roman award between his hands as he observed it. He seemed lost deep in thought.

Monroe watched him, he stared at the award sadly. “Yeah…these are the awards I never displayed.”  He said after a moment.

“Why?” Monroe knew he had said his parents were the reason he never displayed them, but she wanted to know more.

Darcy put the Roman back in the box, closing the box as if just looking at it hurt. “My parents didn’t think I deserved them. They only ever went to one ceremony, and they were quick to tell me how undeserving I was. After that, they never came to another ceremony, my professional success meant nothing to them. So eventually it meant nothing to me too. I hid them away, looking at these things just reminded me they didn’t think I was worthy, and I…didn’t feel worthy.”

Monroe felt tears building behind her eyes. It was not fair, the way they had treated him. The way they made him feel. Darcy had felt alone his entire life, unsupported. She wanted to make sure he never felt like that again. She opened the box again. “Well, I think you deserve them. We are putting these on display. I mean…if you let me.”

Darcy eyed her cautiously. “I don’t know Mon.”

“If you don’t want to, I understand, but you shouldn’t let your parents ruin something so wonderful. You are the most talented filmmaker I have ever met. You deserve all this recognition for your work. You are extraordinary Darcy. Don’t ever let anyone make you think differently. Especially not your parents.”

Darcy watched her carefully. She really thought that of him? He didn’t know what she saw in him, but he wanted to believe in her words. She had never been anything if not honest. “Okay. Let’s put them on display.”

He reached down and kissed her. His tongue gently coaxing her mouth open. She deepened the kiss, letting out a moan as she reached her arms around him. It was Darcy’s favorite sound. He reached a hand toward her ass, grabbing it firmly with his hand. Monroe’s hand traveled to his cock, cupping him over his slacks. He was already hardening under her touch.

He swept her off her feet and carried her to their bedroom which was upstairs. He placed her gently on their new bed as he undid his slacks, Monroe took off her shorts and shirt, undoing her bra swiftly. He watched her intently, she was beautiful. His mouth practically watered at the sight. He removed his turtleneck, sauntering toward her as he reached the bed.

He crawled toward her on their bed, as her legs parted, inviting him in. Darcy traced kisses up her legs, reaching her inner thigh, biting her lightly. She let out another moan, he took her warmth in his mouth, licking and sucking at her pearl as she squirmed against him.

He took two fingers and gently entered her, opening her up slowly as she grinded against his hand. “Ah, Darcy. Stop teasing me, fuck me already.” She demanded.

Darcy laughed, he liked seeing her squirm under his touch. “Now, now, let’s not be impatient.”

Monroe whined as she begged for more friction. “Darcy!” She said seriously.

Darcy obliged. He flipped her on her stomach and entered her from behind, fucking her slowly. He was teasing her still. Monroe felt frustration in her core. “Go faster.”

Darcy adjusted his glasses for a second, grabbing her by her hips as he slammed into her furiously. Monroe yelped, feeling a wave of pleasure ripping through her. He kept a steady pace, going into her deeply as he did.

Monroe was mumbling incoherently as he continued, pushing against him every time they met so he could reach her deeper. Darcy was getting close, he had wanted to take his time, but she had been so eager, it was hard not to try to please her. “Darcy!” She screamed. “I’m getting close.”

Darcy broke into a sweat as he entered her. “Me too.” He said as he let out a moan.

“Go faster.” Monroe ordered.

Darcy obeyed. He thrust into her passionately, hitting her sweet spot repeatedly as he entered her fast and hard. Monroe began trembling around his cock, letting out a loud scream as she came around him, her walls pulsating with pleasure. This sent Darcy over the edge, he came deep inside her, filling her with his seed.

He collapsed on top of her, rolling over to the side so as not to crush her. Monroe cuddled up to him, playing with his chest hair as she did. Darcy watched her silently. “Well, it’s safe to say we’ve christened our new bed.” Monroe said playfully.

Darcy laughed easily. He couldn’t believe how happy he felt. Everything felt like it was falling into place. They fell into a comfortable silence, Darcy continued watching her, his eyes tracing over her soft features. He wondered when the right time would be to propose to her, maybe after filming was done, he could take her to dinner and propose. Filming would not be finished for a few more months.

Monroe sighed deeply, unaware of Darcy’s thoughts. She was thinking of her mother. “I think I’m going to talk to mom soon.”

Darcy was snapped out of his reverie. “I’m happy to hear that. When are you going to do it?”

“I’m thinking of doing it in a couple weeks. I just need some extra time to gather my thoughts.”

Darcy smiled at her. “I hope you get closure, Mon.”

She gave him a small shy smile. “Me too.”
