[O, our poor, poor sacrificial godbuns in our constant cycle of never ending suffocating misery,
We gave our people their divine names for centuries, no, millennia to come, jobs that strike their fancy,
But, it's never enough, the cycle repeats, repeats, repeats.
How many eons has this been going on?
Since the beginning of the dawn of all time!
Since the day the archgod above it all decided to breathe,
Since the day the archgod above it all let live begin to see
Let life begin to hear, learn, do as they please.
Or does the cycle stretch beyond back before the world had even begun to be?
We no long have the answer to such inquiry,
We are starting to think that it has been this way for all of eternity!
Since we came from the All Seer Above's flesh and bone
Our people have slowly, but surely lost all but the ability to stand on their own!
We try as we might to lead them to self sufficiency,
But in the past few centuries the spiral twists and turns infinitely!
There is never an end,
To the mortal's constant needs!
Don't you see?
O, our poor, poor sacrificial godbuns
How has the ribbon of unraveled so far?
How have our people gone from fighting on their own to give it their all,
To asking for every little thing!
Please, please, me a redo, divine above, I beg of thee!
But, do our people think for a moment that there are other ways than begging and pleading?
We must give a long withstanding resounding no to such inquiry!
Where, o, where has the fight gone?
Even when given options to grow and change on their own,
Our people choose the options led by the one and only twenty!
We ask them to come up with solutions on their own,
But they continue to rely on us indefinitely!
No semblance of thought,
Just the options provided by us twenty!
What has happened as the generations have gone?
We ask ourselves this question
On the daily!
O, our poor, poor, sacrificial godbuns ready to lock ourselves up and throw away the key,
How can we get our people to see
There is far more to life than what the divine have provided to thee?
While reliance on the occasion is fine and not all that bleeding,
We would like our space to breathe, as the mortals would say, pretty please!
But, that will never happen, we suspect this will remain the normal for the rest of eternity.
Not a single one of the current generation
Can think for themselves,
They ask us to descend, beg for our help until the problems are solved aplenty
Barely ever thinking it's a trivial thing that can be solved alone most certainly
Will it take the archgod above to change the rules for them all to see?
We are starting to think that getting the
All Seer Above's attention might be the only option
For change to happen in any capacity!
But, such option is far from likely,
We ask of thee, All See Above, see to our needs!
Don't you see?
The mortals never solve their own problems and haven't for centuries!
O, our poor, poor, godbuns with the urge to drag the world down to the bottom of the sea,
What will it take for our people to see the constant damage
Ripping through all of society?
Their demands keep coming, coming, coming like the trail is never ending,
They must learn that the divine cannot answer to all!
But, that will not happen for all eternity.
The cycle repeats, repeats, repeats every century,
Will the next one add more pain and misery?
We are starting this will continue to be never ending!
Why, o, why is this so?
We are at a loss on where to go.
In this season of never ending misery,
Change needs to happen promptly!]
Pitter, patter, pitter, patter, pitter.
Patter, pitter, patter, pitter, patter.
Droplets hitting the window in the middle of the night one after another, the young adult leaped up from the guest bed. Gazing out the paned glass, the farmer sighed. It looks like there a storm about to brew in Frosaro. Clapping his hands together, the farmer closed his eyes. O, dear divine above, please let the storm pass by the morning!
Crackle, crackle, crackle, crumble.
Thunder clapping down from the sky, the bun groaned. The godbuns saved that one just for him, didn't they? No, no, happy thoughts, Siorc, happy thoughts. This is just the cycle of seasons. Summer is pretty close by after all. He needs to remember that, right, nothing to see here, that's for sure. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
Boom, boom, boom.
Racket keeping itself going, the young adult plopped back down onto the guest bed. Forget this, it's about time he goes back to dreamland. Right, he has a long day ahead of him tomorrow. He needs to be in tip top shape for the Aquamataly trip. Yawn, goodnight, world, don't let the thunder bite, zzz, zzz, zzzz.
Ugh.
Eyes shooting back open, the farmer hopped around in a circle. Should he really follow Naofa to Aquamataly? What if this was nothing more than a trick? But, the vampa shook his head. No, no, why would it be? What reason would Evil Bunny have to lie? There was no way that was the case here. Right, of course not, don't be silly, Siorc, it's fine, it will all go smoothly tomorrow, probably.
Reversing his circle, the bun had begun to ponder. What kind of buns is Naofa going to take him to meet? How many buns out there fought the gods and lost? He doesn't know, but he supposed there could have been hundreds, thousands? No, no, why would there be that many out there? Of course that wasn't the case, why would it be? It definitely hadn't been. Yawn, forget all this, it's about time he goes back to bed, so long, world, goodnight, zzz.
Ring, ring, ring, ring.
It's the sixth hour.
It's the sixth hour!
Work time, work time! All the early morning shift LopVampas, report to your stations immediately!
Knock, knock, knock.
Pounding on the opposite end jolting him awake, the vampa flinched. It's morning already? Where did all the time go? Flapping upward, the bun let out a yawn. Can't he have at least four more hours to sleep? No? Oh, great, let him guess, the godbuns had a job for him and they were waiting for him outside Susu's abode, how lovely! No, no, come on, Siorc, that can't be it, it's way too early for that!
"Good morning, Siorc," Susu said, yawning. "Naofa said they will guide you to Aquamalaty at around the fourteenth hour. Is that okay with you?"
Fourteenth hour brought to his attention, the farmer shrugged. He supposed the fourteenth hour was enough time to prepare himself for the long journey ahead. Looking into Susu's eyes, the vampa placed his finger on his chin. Why does he feel like she had more to say? He needs to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. Talkmaster B out in front of him, he turned the knobs rapid fire.
[That's fine with me. But, is everything okay? You look like you have something else on your mind.] A crackling voice said through the Talkmaster B's speakers.
"Oh, you noticed? It's nothing really, don't worry too much," Susu said voice trailing, she then turned her head. "Well, actually, no, I suppose that's not true at all. Your friends want to see you before they go. They seem to have some news for you. You want to meet up with them before we head back to the evil lair?"
Susu's voice dropping, the bun's stomach was about ready to do a flipflop at any given moment. Why did that sound so ominous just now? He doesn't know, maybe something happened. Oh, no, had something terrible happened at the farm? Or, perhaps, something had become of Deigr? Ah, no, what if everything burned down twice over while he was gone? No, no, it's fine. Come on, Siorc, happy thoughts, happy thoughts!
[Of course. Where are they?] A crackling voice asked through the Talkmaster B's speakers.
"They told me they're waiting in the church courtyard," Susu said. "Would you like me to take you there now? Though, I don't know if you'll like what you're about to hear from them."
Warning coming his way, doom washed over the bun. What if the farm had burned down after all, what should he do? No, no, that definitely wasn't the case here, why would it be? Of course it wasn't. Come on, it had to have been something else. Maybe the godbuns had planned to hunt him down and make him be their plaything for the next millennium? No, come on, that's definitely not why they're here!
Staring off into space, the inquiries from within continued. Maybe Strix had gone missing too? What if he was sent to the Sumazo Forest too? Maybe it's about time he heads there once and for all, there's a monster on the loose here! No, that wouldn't be news Zhulong and Niquel would come all this way for. Turning the knobs once more the inquiries kept the race going.
Nodding head scribbled down, the vampa shook the device. Maybe that was a little too vague? Perhaps it was. Come on, try again. Little sign with news on it drawn, the farmer sighed. Was that too on the nose as well? Probably. He needs to focus, come on, focus. Tiny box with a rabbit holding a microphone in its hand, the robotic voice had begun to let itself out.
[It's fine, I can handle a bit of bad news! I battled tidal waves and much worse in my time as a farmer! So, don't worry, I can handle it.] A crackling voice said through the Talkmaster B's speakers.
"Alright, well, then I guess I'll take you now," Susu responded, voice trailing. "But, I'm warning you, you're probably not going to like what you're about to hear, so are you sure about this? It's fine if you aren't."
[It's fine, Susu. Nothing will ever be worse than the moment I was given this divine mistake by the godbuns! Seriously, I can handle anything that's thrown my way.] A crackling voice said through the Talkmaster B's speakers.
"Well, okay, then, if you insist. I guess I'll take you to the church. Grab an umbrella before we go, okay?" She hopped towards the door rather slowly.
Exiting Susu's abode, the bun reached for an umbrella. Droplets galore racing down from the sky full throttle, the bun's eyes opened wide. Just what is going on with the weather today? Why does it feel like there will be stormy days to come for the rest of eternity? Multiple buns running for cover he swore the sidewalk was about ready to become a river at any given moment.
Crackle, crackle, crackle, crackle, boom.
Buns covering their heads every which way, the umbrella twitched. Should he stop and try to guide the young ones to safety? Lightning dropping down towards the trees, the screams continued. Perhaps, he should. Maybe the church could wait. Walking off towards the crowd of doom, cries bathed the world deep.
"What's going on?!" a childbun cried. "Mama said there wouldn't be a storm today!"
"Mama said that to you, too?" childbun number two asked.
"Yeah, yeah, she did! She did!" the first childbun cried. "Do you think The Creator Of All is going to descend soon?! You know, cause?"
"Who?!" childbun number two asked. "Who's that, and 'cause of what?"
"You mean you don't know who the Creator Of All is?!" childbun number one cried. "We learned that in school!"
"Did we? I don't 'member!" childbun number two cried. "Maybe we should call upon Tundrabu to help us remember!" Zap, zap, zap. "Owie, owie, my tail, my tail!"
Childbun becoming one with the floor, the farmer raced towards the two. Kids squirming about, the young adult flapped towards them. Why did that lightning from up above feel like it was waiting for someone to mention Tundrabu? But, the young adult shook his head at such. No, he had to have been mistaken. Racing the party of two towards an underpass, he huffed a breath. Please, balls of electricity from up above, don't return.
"Huh, what happened just now?" childbun number one asked. "Where are we?"
"I dunno, we were heading to school, remember?!" childbun number two cried. "And, then, poof! Out like a light." They then turned towards the stranger grownup. "Thanks for saving us, uh, Unhappy Bunny!" They then groaned. "Knew I shouldn't have mentioned the divine. Let's go!"
Accursed name tossed his way, the bun let out a barely audible scream. He thought he crossed that name out good enough! Maybe he should decorate his shirt a teeny tiny bit more! Forget it, there's no time to think about this, he has to race off towards the church right now! Thunder continuing to crackle up above, the farmer crossed his fingers. Please, storm, pass by this afternoon, that's all he asks!
Reaching the church who knows when, the farmer took a deep breath. Please let whatever news Zhulong and Niquel have for him be nothing dire! Hopping off towards the courtyard, nothing but dooming faces soon awaited him. Oh, no, the worst is about to come, isn't it? Maybe he should turn around. No, no, Siorc, come on, his friends came all this way! He can't turn back now.
"So, like, your friend's finally here," Good Vibes Bunny said, pointing. She then sighed. "Siorc, like, you kept them waiting, you know! So long, my friends already left the church for the morning themselves!"
"It's alright, he didn't keep us waiting," Zhulong said, arms crossed. He then turned towards Siorc. "Good morning, Siorc. Sorry it took us so long to get here."
"Good morning, Siorc," Niquel greeted, yawning. "Don't listen to Holly. We haven't been here all that long, I assure you."
[Good morning, Zhulong, Niquel. Susu said you had some news to share with me? Is it about the farm, did it burn down completely while I was gone?! Has Strix gone missing, too?] A crackling voice asked through the Talkmaster B's speakers.
"The farm is fine, your mother and brother are expanding it right now, Zhulong said, he then reached for his back pocket. "We have something to give you."
Envelope seated in Zhulong's hands, a dooming feeling loomed over the bun. Something isn't right here. But, what? Why does he feel like there's a monster hiding in that container? No, come on, don't be silly. Ripping the letter holder open, the young adult's hands shook. This handwriting, no, it can't be.
{Siorc,
If you're reading this, then that means the worst has probably happened. I am stuck in the Sumazo Forest. But, it's not in the way you think. I am fine, I am not lost, or anything. But, I finally had a chance to sit down and write this out while no one was looking. I'm sorry, but. I don't know when I'll be home, no, scratch that.
I don't know if I'll come home. I know, that's probably not what you want to hear, but, like I said, the worst has come to pass. I'm sorry, I truly am, but that's just how things have gone down out here. So, I'll just say this before they come back.
Head to Aquamataly, and head for a little secret library in The Bronze Catacombs. You'll find exactly what you're looking for there, I promise. I'm sorry, honestly, this is the only tip I can give you. I'll try to get out of here as soon as I can, but I no longer know when that will be. I hope you find what you're searching for, I really do.
Yours Truly,
Deigr.}
Wobbling, the young adult become one with the ground, everything spinning. Deigr, no, was she? No! Eyes closing, the world faded.
