War was still raging in Valkaria. King Eldarion had just awakened from his coma, and a council had already been convened, where the abdication of Eldarion from the throne was being discussed and demanded, along with the election of Darkel as the next king. Without an invitation, Queen Vaelina, Crown Prince Kaylith, and a bound Saela enter the council hall.
During the council, Vaelina recounts everything with facts, including new information regarding Altair's death. It turns out that when Darkel was murdering his uncle, there was a soldier who, noticing Altair's absence, had tried to find him, remembering that the general could not see well in the dark. He accidentally witnessed Darkel's treacherous deed but had remained silent out of fear.
Out of fear of being hanged, Saela confesses everything she knew, receiving only life imprisonment in exchange. Her confession included a list of the names of the kingdom's traitors. Following this, all the guilty are punished, and Darkel is hanged as a traitor. The war comes to an end because the enemy was no longer receiving aid from Darkel, and their strength was insufficient to fight against Valkaria.
Everything about the curse was also revealed—how Darkel, when Kaylith was 13 years old, had hidden it inside him away from everyone's eyes with the help of Saela's transparent shield. The curse worked in the following way: it was a shadow that fed on Kaylith's hatred and pain. The curse could be broken in only one way: by healing the wounds of the soul.
Since childhood, little Kaylith lacked love; no one had told him or shown him that he was loved. They had always treated him poorly; if they smiled, it was only by force and falsely because he was a prince. In everyone's eyes, he was a defect—strange, sick, and a mistake. All of this was because of the absence of his power. Through Kai, Kaylith overcame that painful boundary of loneliness. Despite the fact that from their very first meeting, Kaylith’s only thought was to use Kai, there was one fact he could not deny: he had always admired Kai, his human nature, and considered him a very beautiful and talented guy, and somewhere deep in his soul, he envied him. For in Kaylith's eyes, it seemed that his own parents would have wanted to have a child just like Kai. Notwithstanding all of this, during the long duration of their interaction, Kaylith felt happy by Kai's side. He regretted that he could not share things with him the way Kai did with him. He wanted to say many things, but something inside held him back from that thought, adding a fear that Kai would begin to treat him the way everyone else did in Valkaria.
The only thing in this story that remained unknown was that only Darkel knew where and how he had learned about the curse; he refused to confess even after cruel torture. Saela did not know either; she was only aware of it at the time of placing the curse. And the next unknown and incomprehensible thing was Kaylith's power—no one could understand why it had been absent for so many years and how it had suddenly appeared.
Kaylith began to get acquainted with his power—training and learning.
And when King Eldarion fully recovered from his injury, he called Kaylith to his side.
"I am truly very proud of you, my son. You have traveled a long path and you continue on that path; I see how much you have grown. But remember, to sit upon the throne, you still have much to learn, and one of those things is correcting the mistakes you have made."
Kaylith wanted to answer but did not manage to; he appeared in another place—on Planet Earth. Four years had already passed, and he was back in his old house.
The door opened.
Kai walked in, holding books and maps in his hands.
Their gazes locked onto each other; both were in shock. Everything fell from Kai's hands, and the sound of that impact echoed in the silence.
Leo smiled at that sight and said:
"Hello."
