Monster Police Eat Children

Story 1: Introduction

Story 1: Introduction

Jun 30, 2026

In Atlantic City, 1921, Dola wakes up feeling disoriented. She finds herself lying on the beach, observing birds soaring overhead, listening to the melodies of children playing, and the gentle sound of waves shifting the sand. The sand feels surprisingly cold against her skin, and it gets trapped in her light sky blue suit. Her long silver hair nearly brushes against every speck beneath her.

As she rises and surveys her surroundings, she notices the beach is spotless. There are varied expressions on the faces of the people around her; some are joyful, while others appear downcast. Dola reflects on the mixed emotions surrounding her.

At just 22 years old, Dola is a junior detective known worldwide, and she is left pondering: how did she end up in this place?

"The last time I visited 3456 AD, I found myself unraveling one of the most challenging cases involving a conflict between two robots. One of the robots was furious about a custody issue and had used poison on the victim before forcefully pushing them into a building, which contained an attached bomb that exploded. The aftermath left no visible debris, so the culprit needed to clean up every particle and reduce everything to dust. However, the lingering odor would lead the other robots to the suspect, necessitating the collection of all the dust to be sent to oil pits that could eliminate humans. This scenario would result in humans being captured and confined to a gas chamber, ultimately leading to their deaths. Previously, humans had been enslaved by robots, and various forms of entertainment were generated by AI, but attempts by humans to revolt ended in tragedy. Since the rise of advanced AI, humanity had all but vanished. I never paid much attention to it until I was thrown into a courtroom scenario rife with more regulations than the actual American legal system. This experience felt profoundly dystopian and incredibly convoluted," Dola reflected as she stood up. She shook the sand from her body and looked for a bench to rest on.

Suddenly, BAM!

Someone knocked her back into the sand as Hathen and Rockin are up to no good!

Hathen, a leprechaun with unkempt short hair and a beard, muscled arms and legs, dashed towards the wet sand alongside the waves, digging with his bare hands and scattering sand all over like a playful dog.

Rockin, an attractive centaur, hovered around his playful leprechaun friend as the sand clung to his powerful legs.

Dola found herself questioning whether what she was witnessing was real—a leprechaun alongside a centaur. It seemed too surreal to be anything but a dream. She stepped closer, but Hathen's voice rang out, "I can't find the shell! The golden shell! It's an Atlantic Surf Clam—common on the shores of New Jersey; still, the golden one is cursed. If we don't find it, we're finished! "

As their debate carried on, Dola edged in closer.

"Hathen, I can bring in the rest of the team to help look for it," suggested Rockin.

"NO! They'll just disrupt what we're doing right now! I need to avoid them because they always get in my way," Hathen pleaded.

"Fine, but today really has to be the day we find that golden shell! Keep digging," Rockin encouraged. He then turned and sidestepped Dola, who stood by quietly observing their predicament.

Rockin made his way back toward Dola, who was deep in thought about the situation. "Excuse me, but you're in the way of my friend's digging," he stated.

"I realize that, but he also has to swim over there," Dola replied. Rockin was taken aback by this new idea from someone he had only just met. He knew he couldn't share this thought with Hathen. While the digging went on, Rockin felt he needed to return to the police department. Just as he planned his escape, Dola followed him.

As Rockin walked down the street, he heard Dola's footsteps behind him and asked, "Why are you tailing me?"

Dola responded with a straight face, "You're taking your team with you, which includes a mermaid."

"The rest of my group is made up of monsters like us, and that's common knowledge throughout the city," Rockin explained.

As Dola walks into the police station, she notices a desk where Carmine is seated. He is a young boy sporting short, curly hair on either side of his head, eyes resembling flower petals with cat-like outlines, and dressed in a trendy vest and pants. His gaze meets Dola's, and he thinks she is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. Dola then follows Rockin upstairs, where the noise thumps like a stampede.

Rockin arrives upstairs and steps into Oxin's office. Oxin, an alien from outer space, has disguised himself as a strong, tall bulk man. His distinctive short rectangular mustache and hairstyle are part of his identity as he turns his attention to Rockin. However, he notices Dola, ordering her to leave the office.

"I need Uvitel to dive into the sea to search for the golden shell. He can swim deeper, like digging for treasure buried underground," Rockin explains.

"But what makes the golden shell so cursed? Besides the money, or just something worn out? " Dola inquires.

"Mind your own business, lady, and GET OUT! " Oxin growls, pushing Dola out of the office, causing her to head back downstairs in frustration.

As she descends, Carmine tries to soothe her with, "Don't worry, Oxin is always unkind to visitors, but that's just how he is."

"I'm not concerned about that right now. As long as the centaur believes in me, that's what matters. The leprechaun needs to sort out his own issues so he doesn't end up sidelined," Dola muses, then turns to Carmine. "It's fine. I just want to understand what this team with the centaur is all about."

"We are the Monster Police! Our team tackles all sorts of cases, ranging from murder to the supernatural, and afterward, we can whip up our own pizza. I'm Carmine, the team's photographer, although I'm also a ghost. Oxin leads us and is an alien in disguise. Rockin is the one you just met, and Hathen is our leprechaun. We also have a merman named Uvitel, and my true love is Elid, the only human on our team. "

Carmine was excited, but Dola asked, "You're a ghost, but are you ready to be recreated? "

"Not yet, because I want to experience many things before moving on to heaven," he replied.

This reminded Dola that the GAME involved reaching heaven without dying. Designed by Death, the GAME requires solving the most complex case, and once completed, you advance to the next timeline. I've finished three; this could be my fourth. The last case is waiting for me, Dola thought.

Oxin came downstairs with Rockin and Uvitel, who was a five-foot man with dark blue hair on the right side of his head, round glasses, and pale skin. Oxin glanced at Dola, noting her seriousness, and then left the building.

"Carmine, don't share any ideas with this woman. Join me and bring her along," Oxin ordered. Carmine and Dola followed the team.

At the beach, Hathen was still at the bottom of a hole with no sign of the golden shell, but he did spot some real gold.

Oxin and the others gathered around the hole, looking down at Hathen and laughing at his predicament: how was he supposed to get up?

"I need a rope, or I'll just use my hands!" laughed Hathen. He scooped up the sand, but it crumbled and fell as he struggled, growing weary yet managing to climb swiftly. Finally, he decided to leap high and barely landed on the edge of the sand, almost losing his balance. Rockin secured his friend by wrapping his legs around him.

Meanwhile, at the water's edge, Uvitel removed his clothes and stepped into the sea. His legs morphed into a merman's tail, covered in shiny blue scales, as he drifted a bit away from his team, obscured by the murky water. He needed to locate the golden shell, known as "Alise."

That name echoed in his mind, but with growing speed, Uvitel spotted a luminous object beneath the surface. As he swam closer, a shark approached him. He reached down and grabbed the glowing item in the sand, realizing it was indeed the golden shell. The name continued to resonate, and as he surfaced, he shouted to his friends, "The shell is here!"

CHOMP!!!

AHHHHHHH

Uvitel's scream alerted the others. Oxin rushed to the shore, diving into the water and swimming vigorously to reach him. The shark was attacking Uvitel's tail, and Oxin kicked it fiercely, causing the shark to bite his legs. Suddenly, the golden shell released a sound, calling "Alise!"

The shark repeatedly tries to escape but manages to seize Uvitel while underwater. Oxin dives down, grabs the shark by its fin, and yanks it off. He then strikes the shark in the stomach and tail. As he holds onto the tail and tears it apart, the shark's jaws open wide, releasing Uvitel's nearly lifeless form, which Oxin swims upward toward the shore. The wounded shark drifts away, its body torn. The scent of its blood attracts other sharks, who then devour it, creating bubbles that escape from the dying creature, resembling agonized screams, as both monsters gaze upon the scene like true beasts.

As they make their way to the beach, both Uvitel and Oxin are losing blood and urgently need medical attention. Rockin carries Oxin on his back while holding Uvitel in his arms. Hathen spots Uvitel clutching a golden shell with his left hand and some gold in his right.

The group moves forward, and Dola casts one last glance at the shore, sensing something odd, but quickly dismisses it and continues to follow her monster companions.

Along their journey, there's a man named Gorham, who has jet-black hair, a dark suit, and piercing white eyes, observing their movements as the team returns. Initially puzzled, Dola chooses not to question his presence.

The golden shell is known as a cursed object among sharks, leading them to be killed by their own kind, similar to a deadly lottery. Alise was the name of the girl who drowned after being attacked by sharks.

This shell is kept in the basement of the monster police department, where Uvitel and Oxin are wrapped in bandages. As Gorham stands behind them, he closes his book and reflects, "My story has come to a close."
