As they followed Nico, what awaited them up the stairs was a marble room, with only two items inside. One being a large glass rectangle, and the other just below it was a white circular blob. The rectangle was about 12 feet long and 6 feet tall, and the blob in front of the rectangle was about two feet tall.
Nico turned around and looked at the three kids.
“Now I'll give you an explanation on what is going to happen. Each of you is going to put both hands into the reader, in the blob looking thing in the middle.” As Nico said this, Malik wondered what they were getting evaluated on.
“Can you explain what is going to happen once we put our hands into the reader? And what are we getting evaluated on?” Malik asked curiously, wanting to get an answer to his burning questions.
“Very well, the thing you're getting evaluated on is your affinity with elemental magic, and to also see your affinity with the lesser gods, and their blessings. It also tells us what your white orb property is. But I'm guessing your father already told you all about this.”
As Nico explained this, Malik couldn't help but pick up on the mention of the white orb. The biggest question that had been on his mind since he had gotten reincarnated was about the white and black orbs.
So this is where I finally figure out the deal with the orbs.
“I didn't tell him anything about magic yet. I kept him in the dark about the orbs, and the skills of the gods.” Victor said, surprising Nico.
“I see, but isn't it your goal for all three of the children to go to the academy? In this generation that's next to impossible.”
“We need to see if it is even possible with their evaluation scores before we get ahead of ourselves.” Enzo brought up.
“Good point, then we shall begin.” Nico states.
“Then who should go first?” Elizabeth asked.
“It should be the birthday boy.” Nova said while slapping the back of the boy next to himself.
“I think that is a wonderful idea.” Paula proclaimed enthusiastically.
Nova pushed Ennio on the back, making him move forward even though he was incredibly nervous.
Walking up to the blob, Ennio showed a hint of nervousness. He didn't understand what was fully going on, but the nervousness still didn't go away. His parents and his friends there had so much expectations riding on this one moment, it made his knees feel weak. But still, he kept on walking.
And then he froze in place; he couldn't walk forward. He was too nervous to look behind. But in the next moment he felt two hands on his shoulder. They were from both of his best friends.
“Dont worry, we're here with you. Nothing bad’s gonna happen.” Malik informed him that there was no reason to be nervous. But that was all a front to contain how nervous he was.
“Be excited, I know you have what it takes.” Nova said boldly. He on the other hand showed zero nervousness and only confidence.
“Thank you, but I'm scared I'm not going to be good enough, I'm already behind both of you when it comes to everything.” As the 5 year old expressed his complex emotions of inferiority, Malik and Nova couldn't help but feel bad, since they knew this kid was a prodigy in his own right. He even kept up with two mentally 17 year olds.
The adults stayed quiet while watching this event transpire. Because they knew this was growth for their children and their bond which was extremely important, for what they had planned next.
“How about this we will walk up with you to the blob with you and we will see first hand how impressive you are.” When Malik said this both boys took Ennio's hands and drag him to the blob.
“You ready? Let go of our hands on the count of three and put them in the blob.” Nova remarked, trying to give Ennio the courage he needed.
“One.” When Malik and Nova both looked at each other, they knew that for Ennio to grow, he needed some guidance. But they also couldn’t do everything for him.
“Two.” Ennio on the other hand couldn't stop his knees from shaking. But he had to do this, he had to, because his family and friends’ expectations were on him, and he couldn't fail them.
“Three!” While screaming the word three, Malik and Nova let go of Ennio's hands, and Ennio, closing his eyes, shoved his hands into the blob.
The blob changed colors 8 times—from red, yellow, blue, light blue, light green, purple, then brown and lastly dark green. After that it turned white and started glowing.
“Okay, now you can take your hands out of the blob” When Noah said this, Ennio immediately pulled away, and it stopped glowing.
“Now it's time to see what type of abilities you have.”
What showed on the rectangle was three sections each in their own quadrants. What showed was.

All the adults were silent. Too stunned to speak. On the other hand Malik and Nova were celebrating.
“Ennio, you did it! You have great abilities, you can become a light and water magic fighter!”
Nova excitedly proclaimed to Ennio.
“Good job Ennio.” Malik said, patting Ennio on the shoulder.
“Thank you.” Ennio replied, embarrassed.
“This is unheard of. It's rare enough to be a 10 star water user, but to think he has the ability only five people in this world can use. And with that ability no less, he has the potential to get into the academy—no, to even make it to the top ten in the academy, even though we're in this generation. And that’s not even including the familiars he could make, thanks to the God of Monsters.” Nico proclaimed excitedly, his eyes bulging out of his head.
Malik looked back to see the adults' jaws on the floor.
“Is it really that rare, father?” Malik asked.
“Let me put it to you this way. Most people only have 2 to 3 elements, and most of those are in the ranges of 1 to 6. Just him getting 10 star on water magic is rare. And that doesn't include him getting a 10 star from the God of Monsters, which is also extremely rare. And last but not least, he has a 1 in 5 ability; only 4 other people have that ability, and not to mention the element of light. He has the potential to become one of the most powerful people in this world.” Victor stated this with a look of pure bliss. Malik could already tell his father would grow Ennio into his full potential.
Just then Amara started to cry. Ennio ran up to her to hug her while trying to console her.
“Are you alright, mom?” Ennio asked.
“I was so worried that you couldn't protect yourself, it scared me half to death. And seeing as the other children were ahead of you, I naturally started to worry that you may fall behind and start to feel inferior. But thank the gods; with the light ability you have the potential to become one of the 40 greats.” Seeing one of the mentally strongest people Malik knew crying in front of him, Ennio just stayed there and let her hug him till she calmed down.
Malik was overcome by happiness, seeing the heartfelt hug that was happening. After 20 or so minutes of impressed congratulations and conversations, they moved on to the next kid.
“Alright Nova, you're next.” Malik said.
“Fine, fine but there is no way I can out do that.” Nova said humbly.
Walking up confidently to the blob, Nova shoved both of his hands in. The blob cycled through those same 8 colors again, then glowed white.
After taking his hands off the rectangle, it showed Nova’s stats.

Everyone was too stunned to speak.
“A 1/1 ability and no less than 11 stars…” Nico said, shocked as could be.
Nova's parents were stunned; they imagined Nova to be blessed by the gods, but not like this. They always knew their son was a prodigy, but to this extent? They had no words.
After the group regained their composure, they all rushed to Nova.
“Nova, my son, this is incredible.” Lars said while picking him up.
“The Goddess of Love gave you 11 stars, do you know how rare that is? Only around 10 people in a generation get to be 11 stars.” Victor said, emphasizing how impressive it was.
“And having a 1/1 ability? That is down right impossible! And not to mention 3 ten stars for magic. There’s also a blank, which is uncommon. I can't wait for the next kid now.” Nico said.
Everyone looked at Malik, waiting for him to go up. How was he going to out do those two? Malik gulped and walked up to the blob.
While walking to the blob Malik wasn’t excited one bit. All he felt was the pressure of not failing or being on par with his friends. There was so much riding on this moment. Trying not to over think things, Malik shoved both of his hands inside of the blob. Just like before, it glowed 8 times, each color representing an element. Without hesitation, Malik retracted his hands and looked up at the rectangles to read his ability.
