My boyfriend is a secret billionaire

The four conditions

The four conditions

Jul 04, 2026

The hospital corridor was completely freezing, smelling heavily of chemical disinfectant and cold fluorescent light.

John stood quietly near the water dispenser at the far end of the hallway.

He nervously adjusted his suit jacket to look like an ordinary relative waiting for news.

A few meters away, Sara sat completely still on a hard plastic chair, staring straight down at her lap with a calm, unreadable face.

John slowly raised his hand to his ear. He subtly tapped the tiny Bluetooth earpiece hidden right beneath his hairline to ensure the live audio connection remained completely stable.

Inside the private patient room, Martin Roy sat upright against his pillows.

He held his mobile phone tightly in his hand, using John’s microphone to monitor every single footstep and breath out in the hallway.

John cleared his throat slightly, keeping his lips completely rigid so the passing nurses wouldn't realize he was talking into a hidden device.

"Sir, John here," he muttered in a low, rapid whisper.

"She is still sitting right outside the door, sir. She hasn’t left for her high-stakes interview yet, and she doesn't seem to be in any rush to abandon her post."

Through the wireless earpiece, Martin’s voice came through like a sudden wave of ice—sharp, calculated, and completely devoid of any emotion.

"Good, John. Keep observing her every single movement because this puzzle is not going to be easy for an ordinary human mind to solve," Martin commanded over the live call.

John shifted his weight from one foot to the other, looking at the heavy wooden door of the private room.

"Sir, what is your true plan with this girl?" John asked curiously, his voice full of confusion.

"Do you honestly think that if she just pays your medical bill, it is enough to prove her absolute loyalty and kindness?"

A low, mocking chuckle echoed directly into John’s ear before Martin spoke again.

"No, John. Paying money is never enough to prove a person's inner soul," Martin’s cold voice stated firmly through the Bluetooth connection.

"I want to see exactly how she solves a complex, life-threatening situation when her back is against the wall. I have designed four impossible conditions for her, and if she breaks even a single one of them, she fails my test completely."

John felt a cold drop of sweat slide down his neck as he listened.

"Condition one is the shield," Martin stated with unyielding authority.

"She has to save me from this fake group of people outside who are actively trying to steal my fingerprints while I am weak. However, she can never tell anyone about it, and she is strictly forbidden from calling the cops."

"Condition two," Martin continued smoothly.

"She has to help me survive this hospital crisis, but she can never stay tonight inside this building. If she stays all night to help a complete stranger, her independent self-respect fails, and I will reject her."

"Condition three is the ultimate career test." Martin’s voice grew even heavier.

"She already got the official call from the executive board. She knows her golden corporate interview is scheduled for today in my company, Roy Enterprises. She has to skip that interview. If she goes there and leaves me alone with the thugs I created, she loses my challenge instantly."

"And finally, condition four," Martin finished.

"She has to tell her family the complete truth about using their entire savings on me."

" However, they cannot scold her a single word regarding their heavy house loan money. She must deliver the brutal truth without lying or making it seem like she just made a mistake."
"
She must manage that family conversation perfectly without a single drop of anger."

John's face turned completely pale, his eyes widening into circles of pure shock as the weight of the rules hit him.

He turned his body completely away from Sara, hiding his face toward the water cooler as he whispered fiercely into his microphone.

"Sir, this is completely impossible," John argued, his voice full of desperate logic.

"What do you mean she has to save your life but she cannot stay here? How can an ordinary girl do both things at the same time? And what about her interview, sir? That interview is her single golden opportunity to fix her career. "

"If she stays in this hallway, her future goes to complete waste, and her family will scold her desperately for throwing away their house loan money on a random stranger."

John frantically checked his wristwatch, feeling the timeline of Martin's grandmaster challenge ticking away rapidly.

"Sir, you waited for almost 13 months in your personal challenge to find a perfect problem solver. To expect this from her is impossible," John muttered under his breath.

"Do you really want to lose that challenge with Sanjay right now over this girl?"

Through the Bluetooth link, Martin’s voice turned into absolute, freezing corporate steel.

"John, you know my ego level perfectly. I need a perfect person as my future daughter-in-law who can run my empire. If Sara loses this simple test, how can I trust her?"

Martin clipped out, his voice cutting like a razor.

"Sir, what about her payment for your hospital bill?"

"She paid for it. At least give her that money back."john.

"How can I give her a single rupee or any help if she leaves me in a dangerous situation?" Martin snapped.

"If those corporate thieves were not hired by me—

if they were real and took my fingerprints today
all my property and my global empire would go to ruin.

If she goes now to attend the interview, I will never give her a job. Even if she is selected by the board outside, I will personally block her career from the shadows."

John’s voice dropped into a dull, completely hollow tone as he realized his boss's arrogance was a mountain that could never be moved.

"Oh, no, sir," John whispered, shaking his head.

"Then all of her pure, selfless help goes to complete waste. If she just leaves for her interview and comes back to help you later, can you at least give her the money back? That amount is their loan from the bank."

Martin spoke, his voice full of a proud, arrogant smile.

"John, don't ask me like this. You know me very well. I know the exact boundaries of human greed and fear. No one can ever beat my mind games. Watch her walk out of that exit door."

John let out a slow, defeated sigh, turning around slowly to watch the elevator doors at the end of the hallway.

Suddenly, John completely froze in his tracks. His eyes widened in absolute, breathless disbelief as he stared at the reception desk.

"Sir," John gasped loudly into the microphone, his hands trembling as he stepped forward. "Sir, Sara is not here!"

Inside the private room, Martin didn't even move from his pillows.

He remained fully relaxed and calm, like he already knew exactly how this predictable story would play out.

But

"She just came back to tell the nurse to take care of my chart," Martin replied smoothly through the wireless call.

"Just see, John. She will talk to the hospital staff for two minutes, and then she will run to the elevator to catch her interview."

"No, sir, you don't understand anything at all!" John’s voice was full of utter shock as he watched the girl walk right back down the hallway.

"She didn't leave the building, sir," John whispered, his heart hammering against his ribs as he watched her movements.

"She didn't go to her interview. She just went downstairs to the canteen, bought a hot cup of coffee, and came right back to her seat. She is sitting right outside your patient room door at this exact second."

John took a breath, staring at her.

"She is sitting right there on that hard plastic chair, completely alone, silently guarding your door against the thieves."

Inside the private room, the Bluetooth line went completely dead as Martin snapped his phone shut in absolute silence.

Martin Roy slowly lowered his hand, his relaxed, arrogant expression completely vanishing from his face as reality hit him.

For the first time in his entire multi-billionaire life, the undefeated grandmaster was left in absolute, speechless awe.

He stared at the blank wooden door, a profound, slow smile of deep pride like sara will lose.

"So, she wants to play my game that badly," Martin whispered, his sharp eyes flashing with an unyielding fire.

"Fine. Then I also want to see exactly how she plans to save me."
