The Fallen Betrayer

Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Aug 07, 2026

Amon took off into the sky, leaving Kian behind in the secret tunnel. After hearing Amon's last words, Kian felt a surge of anger. This anger coursed through him, shattering the chains binding his wrists and ankles. With the chains gone, he began to fly in the same direction Amon had gone.

He entered the tunnel and found himself in the demon kingdom. As he landed, he noticed demons emerging from their homes. He was scared of being seen, but luckily, no one noticed him. While heading towards another tunnel, he spotted Komoku flying above.

"Citizens of the demon kingdom; the lockdown is over, everyone could return to their previous activities." Komoku then flew back into the castle of his kingdom. Suddenly, Kian collapsed, losing consciousness and being dragged into a dark area.

When he woke up, he was in an unfamiliar place and saw Blaze in front of him.

"We meet again. Did you really think escaping the underworld and getting here would be easy?" "If that's how you put it, then yes," Kian replied. "You're not going anywhere; you'll remain here until Hades comes for you."

Blaze's laughter echoed off the dark walls of the dungeon in the kingdom.

After an enjoyable weekend getaway, all 7 angels were heading home. Marvin and Bridgette came back in a great mood, which surprised his parents.

“Did you kids have a good time while you were away?” Marvin’s mom asked as she sliced some fruit. “We definitely did, Mom. I saw something really cool by the—” Marvin started to say, but Bridgette kicked his foot to stop him. “You don’t need to share every little detail with your mom. Does she really want to know how you ended up slipping by the river?” Bridgette said with a silly grin.

“Oh, my poor boy got hurt; come here.” “Mom, please don’t embarrass me in front of a girl.” “Alright, I’ll stop. Here, I’ve cut up some fruit for you two. Your dad and I have a meeting with the kingdom council. Don’t stay up too late,” Marvin’s mom said as she closed the door.

Marvin's parents had left, and Marvin and Bridgette were in his room enjoying some fruit, where Marvin began to inch closer to her. She noticed this and shifted away, but the more she did, the closer Marvin got.

"What’s going on?" Bridgette asked, setting the plate down on the floor. "Nothing," Marvin replied, gazing into her beautiful eyes. "Marvin, is something wrong?" "Actually, yes. It’s about your first love, Leonard." "What about him?" "I don’t know, but I felt jealous seeing how close you two were at the spiraling river, holding hands, and it made me sad."

"Marvin, is that why your face gets all red when you’re with me?" "No, maybe, yes." "Marvin, you know that—" "I know you’re not looking to date. I get it, Bridgette, but I can’t hide my feelings for you. I feel like I need to do this."

Marvin leaned in closer to Bridgette for a kiss, then stepped back and went to his bed on the top bunk. Bridgette went to the kitchen to put the plate away and then returned to his room to sleep on the bottom bunk.

4-6 months have gone by; the academy was undergoing renovations, so the administration decided to give all students a few months off from classes.

"This is the best news ever—no classes for months," Bruce exclaimed, celebrating. "But, according to the academy rules, we still have to submit homework," Walter said, killing the vibe. "Ugh, Walter, can you please not bring up homework for once? We should enjoy this special treatment after so many years," Hermione said, pinching Walter’s shoulder.

"Speaking of freedom, let’s go check out the abandoned, burned academy. Remember when we got caught by someone?" Bruce said, wrapping his arm around his girlfriend Hermione. "Where are Marvin and Bridgette?" Matilda asked, glancing around. "It looks like they won’t be joining us today. After Marvin suddenly kissed her the other day, I’m guessing they’re dating now," Rhiannon replied, fixing her hair.

The five of them headed to the abandoned, burned academy, checking their surroundings to make sure no one was around, and thankfully, the coast was clear. They entered through the entrance, where the smell of smoke and abandonment filled the air.

Hermione and Walter paused at a display showcasing the smartest angel to ever exist, and right there, they spotted Stella's photo.

"Hey, everyone, you should come check this out," Hermione called to the rest. The others made their way over to where Hermione and Walter were standing. "No way! Is that really her?" Rhiannon exclaimed in disbelief. "Stella! The legendary angel who betrayed her own kingdom. I thought she was just a myth, but seeing her picture proves otherwise. Why is her photo the only one that hasn't been burned, while the others are?" Matilda wondered aloud, deep in thought.

Walter gently opened the glass cabinet and took the photo for a closer look. He passed it around until it reached Hermione. She turned the photo over and noticed some handwriting that read, Stella, one of the smartest angels in the city of angels [Angel Kingdom]. Some say she was beautiful but chose to alter her appearance. She was known to be very competitive with her peers.

Hermione flipped the photo back over, examined it closely, and gasped. She asked everyone if Stella looked familiar to Bridgette. Everyone began to point out similarities between her and Stella, gasping again.

Walter returned the photo to its place, and all five of them decided to continue exploring for more information.

Meanwhile, a demon was lurking nearby.

In the dungeon of the demon kingdom, Kian lay on the floor, pondering his escape, when Amon's laughter interrupted him.

"Oh, it's you. Are you going to tease me again after what you said in the underworld?" "Yes, but there's something I forgot to mention in our last chat." "And what would that be?" "Well, I was meant to take the throne, not Stella. My father told me I wasn't fit to be king. When Stella came along, she took my throne, and I became less favored. At first, I felt jealous, but eventually, I accepted it. When Stella left for her hometown in the angel kingdom, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to reclaim what was mine, but that never happened. I'm going to set you free so you can get revenge on her for both of us."

Amon quietly broke the bars, stepped inside, and created a portal on the ground for Kian to jump into. Kian leaped into the portal just before Amon closed it.

He began to teleport from the dungeon to his chamber, arriving just in time for a one-on-one meeting with his father, Komoku, summoned by the demon lord's assistant, Nate.

Amon soon arrived, unaware that the meeting was with Hades.

"The little goblin has arrived," Hades remarked, seated at the right side of a dark, foaming table. "What’s he doing here? Wasn’t this supposed to be a one-on-one meeting with just you?" Amon questioned as he took a seat in the middle. "Yes, but Hades asked to join us," Komoku replied in a deeper tone, addressing Amon.
