The Fallen Betrayer

Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Aug 10, 2026

It was almost completely silent. Deep down, Amon was really freaking out.

"Do you want to tell me something I should know?" Hades asked, staring at Amon. "What do you want from me?" Amon replied nervously. "Don’t mess with my head. I’m missing one of my lost souls. Someone told me they saw you with him twice. It looks like he escaped from the underworld and made it here." "Oh, that lost soul? I have no idea what you mean," Amon said.

Hades began to manipulate Amon's thoughts, just as he had anticipated.

"Amon, you clearly broke a rule of the underworld. Because of you, he’s wandering freely in the angel kingdom. And the reason you let him go was your jealousy towards Stella. I know she’s not your sister, but you’ve never treated her like a sibling should."

"You got me, but I don’t regret my actions. It’s not my fault my own FATHER doesn’t see me as king material. I have what it takes to be the demon lord, but apparently not," Amon's anger became evident as he flew towards his father until Hades stepped in.

"Hades, stay out of this; this is a matter between father and son, not a third party," Amon said, using his powers to push Hades away. "Son, I knew this would happen. I warned you not to talk to Kian, and look what you’ve done," Komoku said, emerging from the dim shadows.

"What are you planning to do about it? You can't even use your demonic powers on me since you're too old." "And you have no right to inform the demon lord about not using their powers."

"Why did you send Stella back? Why do you want her to return? You were the one who lifted the lockdown because everything seemed normal again. It's not normal; your queen isn't back, and now you want your daughter, who isn't really your daughter, back on the throne. That's just selfish!"

"First off, I sent her back because—" "You sent her back for some so-called research project to gather information."

"No, I made that up because she wanted to return many years ago. I didn't let her because she was starting her transformation into a demon. I even restricted her access to heaven to stop her from visiting her first love, Leonard. Kian and Leonard were best friends until Kian turned on him and killed him brutally. Stella wanted to see Leonard in heaven, but I didn't allow it because she chose to ally with me here in the demon kingdom. She ended up following my orders and becoming the queen of the demon kingdom. I lifted the lockdown because everything was back to normal; it was just Hades and me who had issues. And you went into Stella's chamber to find an old scroll she mentioned; that scroll is nothing but ashes. That answers your questions, son; now you can leave."

Amon walked out and was captured by Nate outside.

Kian soon arrived in the angel kingdom, where he witnessed everything he had envisioned after taking Leonard’s ideas. His true identity was becoming clear, but this time, he had real white wings.

"They’re real? Actual white wings, not the fake ones I had to wear years ago. Oh, that’s awesome. I might not have the halo, but at least my horns aren’t visible."

Kian headed towards the academy he used to go to, but it was nowhere in sight.

"Strange. It should be here, but I can’t find it."

He came across a monument that mentioned the academy was torn down after being abandoned for many years. He chose to fly and check out the area before stopping in front of another academy.

"It says here this was the second-best academy where the smartest angels compete against each other. Stella was the top student among her classmates until the incident on January 4th when the entire academy burned down, taking the administration, teachers, and students with it."

Kian couldn’t help but smirk and chuckle a bit, noticing that Stella was a lot like him. He approached the entrance, where he heard some faint talking. He decided to follow the sound closely.

"Did any of you find anything?" Hermione shouted from one of the classrooms. "Not really. The light is fading; I don’t think I can go any further," Rhiannon shouted back.

Walter handed her an extra flashlight. She took the flashlight from his hand just before she fell through a crack into the basement.

"Guys, Rhiannon just fell!" Walter yelled in panic.

Everyone hurried to where Walter was and saw Rhiannon through the crack in the floor, using their flashlights.

"Are you okay?" Hermione's voice echoed. "Yes, I’m fine. You all should come here; I found something," Rhiannon's voice echoed as it faded away.

Everyone carefully squeezed through the crack in the ground where Rhiannon was.

The lower level was very dusty, and all you could see or feel was sadness.

"I know I heard that faded conversation somewhere around here," Kian said as he kept flying until he spotted a lost angel. The lost angel was aimlessly wandering and made its way to the classroom where the fire incident took place. Intrigued, Kian decided to follow it and witnessed the event through a hallucination.

The lost angel murmured, "I didn’t deserve to die like this, but Stella did what she did. Everyone in that classroom was a hypocrite. I was too timid to stand up for Stella; if I had just done something, could this have been avoided?"

Suddenly, the lost angel disappeared, leaving Kian alone in the empty classroom. He could still hear the same faded conversation from earlier, echoing below him. He followed the voice by flying down until he reached the bottom of the stairs.

"Well, we did discover something. We should ask Bridgette about this object," Matilda remarked, holding the object in her hands. "Are you sure she’ll answer if we ask her about it? Remember what she told us at the campsite and all the questions we threw at her. I can’t figure out how she knew our questions without us saying anything," Bruce replied, touching his halo.

The five of them left the academy and went off in different directions.

Kian followed also exited and headed straight to his home. Upon arriving, he realized that his house was like a museum dedicated to him. He entered a hidden room that only he could access and slept there for the days that followed.

Amon found himself trapped in his chamber, desperately trying to catch the attention of anyone who could free him, but it was all in vain.

"Did you learn your lesson?" Nate asked from the door. "Oh, I definitely did," Amon replied sarcastically, avoiding eye contact with Nate. "That’s good to hear, but according to the demon lord’s orders, you’ve lost your right to use your demonic powers. To regain them, you’ll have to work alongside Blaze and the others," Nate said as he left Amon’s chamber.

In the pitch-black darkness, silence enveloped him; despite his feelings, he didn’t fight against himself. He picked up a scroll and wrote a message to Ria. He sent the scroll through a portal [that his father is unaware of] and stepped back, waiting for her reply.
