Ria grabbed the scroll while chatting with Jessica, Raquel, and Caroline.
"I need to handle this; you three finished it without me," Ria said as she took off.
"Thank goodness she’s gone. I can’t just stand here," Jessica remarked, rolling her eyes. "If you can’t stand her, why do you keep getting close to her?" Raquel asked, pausing her work. "Because of her, we took her only job," Jessica laughed loudly.
"Girls, I think we should start on this task. I heard they’ll be sending demons to the underworld for life," Caroline said, getting back to work. "If you two are done chatting, get to it," Bethany yelled at Jessica and Raquel.
The three of them began to wrap up what Ria had left for them.
Ria entered Amon’s chamber, where he was chained up. She approached him just as he leaned in to kiss her.
"You made it," Amon said with a slight smile. "After what you did, I had to come. Why did you do it?" Ria asked, cupping Amon’s face. "Jealousy. I can’t stand it when others take what’s mine."
"So, if a demon boy takes me away from you, would you react the same way?" "Absolutely. Can we talk about something else?"
For the next few hours, Amon and Ria discussed the future of the demon kingdom and the underworld if two leaders united, and how Amon should properly apologize to his father, Komoku, for his earlier behavior.
Ria kissed Amon and left his chamber, making her way to her own room that she shared with her half-sister Shay.
7-9 months went by, and it seemed like everyone was doing fine with our couple, Marvin and Bridgette. After Marvin kissed her, Bridgette started avoiding him, but it was tough since she accidentally ran into Clyde, the academy’s Cupid.
"Sorry, but aren’t you that classmate from science class who kept complaining about how boring it was?" Bridgette shot back at him. "Yeah, that’s me. What do you need?" Clyde replied, giving her a glare in return. "I won’t let this go, but you’re also the one who suggested to Beckett that he should ask me out, which didn’t really took effect on me."
Clyde stood there, shocked as he realized what he had done. Bridgette then asked him if they could talk about something, and he agreed. They met at the main plaza, sitting across from each other as the sun set and the moon rose.
"I’ve heard a little about you from your friend Edwin. One thing that caught my interest was your use of dark magic. Can you tell me how you got into it?"
"Um, it’s a funny story. At the library, there used to be a basement that was open to everyone, but now it’s off-limits and only for those in the ancient language class. Anyway, when it was open, I was the only one there. I was looking for a book about my family tree, but I found one called Dark Magic: Know Your Magic Properly. At first, I didn’t think it was bad until my first attempt actually worked. I became the talk of the academy until one day, my dark magic got out of control."
"What really went down that day? What made everything spiral out of control?" "It was all because of those two: Beckett and Marvin." "I've heard about them; they used to be best buddies, but Bruce mentioned that something changed."
"Honestly, it's my fault that they aren't friends anymore, but Beckett shares some blame too. Before you showed up two years ago, there was this angel girl who was friends with both of them. Beckett started pulling away her from Marvin because he wasn't getting enough attention. They were dating at that time when the angel girl started focusing on Marvin, which made Beckett furious. He came to me and asked me to use dark magic on Marvin. Believe me, that was a risky move, but Beckett had me under his spell.
That day, he kept whispering in my ear not to miss my target and other stuff while I was too caught up in the dark magic itself, and I yelled at him to stop. Edwin was the one who jumped in to help me, but it was already too late. The dark magic hit the angel girl instead. She ended up with serious burns, which damaged her wings and skin, leaving scars."
"That sounds terrible." "It was, and because of me, dark magic is now banned. I got grounded for a long time and decided to become the Cupid of the academy, which seems pretty cool to me."
Clyde let out a big sigh of relief, getting everything off his chest. Bridgette, however, reminded him that dark magic is the second most dangerous type of magic out there.
"Dark magic is in the middle, but mixed magic is the most dangerous, and you should steer clear of it."
Clyde nodded and kept his word, but before he left, he told Bridgette that she and Marvin are a good match. Clyde walked away, while Bridgette headed back to Marvin's house, where she spotted someone familiar in the distance.
As it got closer, she realized it was Kian himself.
"What brings you here?" Bridgette inquired, maintaining her distance from him. "I could ask you the same thing, Stella, or should I call you Bridgette?" Kian responded, keeping his distance as well.
"Shouldn't you be in the underworld where you belong?" "Yes, but I managed to escape. I came to the demon kingdom, got caught, but someone helped me get away." "Who helped you?" "Maybe your so-called half-brother, Amon." "Amon? That can't be true."
"He freed me so I could get my revenge on you." "Stay away from me; I'm not scared to use my mixed magic against you." "Go ahead, do it, but Stella, you should be cautious about your surroundings."
Kian turned and walked away before disappearing into the darkness.
Instead of heading to the front door, she flew up to the second-floor balcony and stood there. Marvin, who had just finished showering and was already dressed, approached the balcony before Bridgette did something unimaginable.
She broke the one rule her father, Komoku, had told her never to break. For the first time in 5,000 years, Bridgette revealed her feelings for Marvin, and he embraced her, relieved to finally hear those words from her. This officially marked the beginning of their relationship.
The next day, Albert P. visited a nearby café and unexpectedly ran into Kian.
"It's not surprising to see you here, Kian," Albert P. said as he picked up his coffee. "Why? It’s been 5,000 years since you last saw me, and you don’t look happy at all," Kian said as he stepped out of the café.
"Listen, whatever you’re dealing with is not my concern, so don’t drag me into it anymore." "Oh, I’m not asking you to get involved; I just want to warn you about what might happen in the next few days. I met with Stella/Bridgette yesterday; she still seems like the same person from years ago, but she knows I’m still planning to get my revenge on her."
Kian walked away and then soared into the sky while Albert P. headed home. Once he arrived, he quickly shut all the windows, lit a candle for some light, and began writing to Leonard.
