The Fallen Betrayer

Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Aug 14, 2026

In heaven, Leonard is busy with his duties when one of the angels tells him that he has to head to his realm. Leonard then travels to his realm, where he finds a scroll tied with a gold string; he unties the string and begins to read it.

Greetings, Leonard! It’s Albert P., your old buddy from way back. I’m reaching out because I think you’ve already met Stella/Bridgette and know her story. I need to give you a heads up about something. Today, I ran into Kian at a café. Yes, the same Kian who killed you years ago. Anyway, he’s back and looking for revenge on Stella because her half-brother Amon wanted him to. I really hope you’ve made it clear that Kian and Amon shouldn’t be involved with each other. Best, Albert P.

"So, Kian can’t sit still; I guess I need to visit the demon kingdom then, Kian," Leonard said as he got ready in a tunnel that leads there.

He traveled to the demon kingdom with a gold shield surrounding him to protect his dignity and prevent any harm.

Komoku asked Blaze to guide him to his son’s chamber for a private meeting.

"This is my first time I meet you, Leonard. I’m Blaze; I was Stella’s best friend before I sadly lost my life," Blaze said, making brief eye contact with him before looking straight ahead. "Nice to meet you too, Blaze. I’m Leonard. I was Stella’s first love before, well, you know the story," Leonard replied with a cheerful smile.

Blaze waited outside Amon’s chamber after Leonard finished speaking.

"You must be Amon, the one who freed Kian out of jealousy." "And you must be Leonard, Stella’s first love. What brings you here?" "A former friend of mine informed me about this, and I need you to make up for what you did." "I’m not going to do that." "Yes, you will."

Leonard snapped his fingers, summoning Nate, Aiden, Kane, and Shane inside.

"If you refuse to follow what your father and I instructed, you’ll be chained in the center of the demon kingdom every day under your father’s orders."

The four demon boys teleported Amon to the center of the demon kingdom with additional chains.

Blaze soared into the sky to declare, "Citizens of the demon kingdom, we have a demon who betrayed us by releasing someone evil into the angel kingdom. Amon is to blame for this, so he will face the consequences of his actions."

Everyone began to emerge from their homes to the center, speaking in an ancient language and using their demonic powers to weaken Amon.

Leonard took his leave, exited the demon kingdom, and returned to heaven.

"Now Kian, you and I are going to have a serious discussion once I reach the angel kingdom."

The two couples, Bruce and Hermione, along with Marvin and Bridgette, decided to go on a double date and later found themselves at the library.

"Marvin, do you mind if I borrow your girlfriend for a few minutes?" Hermione asked playfully. "Uh, no," Marvin answered.

Hermione then took Bridgette by the hand and led her to the second floor.

"You can be honest with me if you feel okay talking," Hermione said, her playful demeanor shifting to a serious tone. "What’s wrong?" Bridgette inquired, sensing something was off.

"Two months ago, the rest of us explored that burned-down academy, and we found a picture of Stella. She looked a lot like you. When Rhiannon fell through a crack, she discovered this," Hermione explained, handing Bridgette a diary that detailed events from 5,000 years ago up until it abruptly stopped.

Bridgette stood up and began to slowly retreat into the shadows at the corner.

"Bridgette, your appearance is changing," Hermione noted, pointing at her clothes.

Realizing her identity was being revealed, Bridgette stepped further into the darkness, transforming herself before returning to the light where Hermione stood.

Meanwhile, on the first floor, Bruce seemed to soar to the top of the highest bookshelf to grab a glowing book. He brought it over to Marvin, who was adjusting his glasses.

"Hey, nerdy, I found a book you’d love," Bruce said, placing it in front of Marvin. "Thanks! And please don’t call me nerdy; I need my glasses to read," Marvin replied, reaching for the book Bruce had set down.

As Marvin opened it, the same golden stars he had seen months earlier appeared before him.

"Wow, I didn’t know a book could do that!" Bruce exclaimed loudly, only to be shushed by the librarian. This time, Marvin didn’t shut it like he did before, and the words got mixed up, but it was a language only Bridgette understood.

Thinking quickly, Marvin closed the book and told Bruce that if they asked where he went, he just went somewhere. Marvin took off fast, heading to Bridgette's old friend's house.

Hermione returned feeling betrayed.

"What’s wrong, lovely?" Bruce asked when he noticed Hermione’s expression. "Nothing," Hermione suddenly said.

Just moments earlier, Bridgette had revealed herself as Stella to Hermione.

"So, you were actually keeping something from us." "Yes, but—" "No need; I won’t say anything, but you’re Stella, the one who was once an angel that betrayed her kingdom and turned into a demon." "You caught me."

"Does Marvin know?" "No, but I don’t want him to find out." "Why not?"

"On the day of the festival, that was the first time he saw me in my true form when I sent the three bullies to the demon kingdom from the roof of that burned-down academy. He called me a monster. He didn’t trust me; he wanted the truth, but I promised him that ‘one day, you will.' He did promise to keep it a secret. I returned to my hometown for one mission to make peace and ask for forgiveness for what I did, but right now, after meeting Kian—"

"Who’s Kian?" "You know that statue in the center of the main plaza? That’s him. He killed my first love in the most brutal and painful way while I watched. The same angel you guys saw at the river, that’s Leonard. Once my year is up, I’ll go back to the demon kingdom and continue my duties. Now you understand why—"

"I understand why you’re doing all this for your own benefit, but keeping something like this from us isn’t fair. As friends, we shouldn’t keep secrets from each other. Sooner or later, Marvin will discover that you’re the same person he met at the festival, and it’s going to hurt him. Right now, we can’t be friends anymore, because we angels aren’t meant to be friends with a demon," Hermione said, wiping away a tear before heading to the first floor.

Bridgette transformed into smoke and teleported back to her first ever academy where everything began.

Marvin showed up at Albert P.'s house, not expecting anyone else to be there.

"Are you waiting for someone?" Leonard asked as he turned towards the door. "I don’t think so," Albert P. replied, getting off the couch.

He walked to the door after hearing the doorbell ring multiple times, opened it, and found Marvin standing there. He invited him in, where Marvin locked eyes with Leonard.

"You must be Leonard, the one from that day at the river and her first love," Marvin said, taking a seat on the sofa next to a lamp. "Yes, that’s me," Leonard replied, settling back into his previous spot.

Albert P., sensing the awkward tension, who was sitting on the opposite side of the couch, decided to start a conversation.

"Marvin, it’s strange to see you here without Bridgette. The first and last time we met was when you were outside the door," Albert P. said, trying to ease the heavy atmosphere in his home.

"I came here because of this book," Marvin said, showing it to both of them.

Albert P. took the book from Marvin’s hand, opened it, and noticed the words transforming into an ancient language. Leonard, who had just stood up moments before, leaned in for a closer look, his eyes widening in surprise.

He quickly grabbed the book from Albert P.’s hand and made it float in the air in front of him, Albert P., and Marvin.

"It says here that once in a lifetime, the heavenly realm and the underworld were united by the mightiest kings. However, Hades, the ruler of the underworld, and Zeus, the ruler of heaven, disapproved of this because angels and demons were forbidden to meet. The demon lord of the demon kingdom, Komoku, agreed to this pact and chose to limit any demon's access to heaven. Hades and Zeus don’t communicate unless they call a council to discuss allowing angels and demons to interact."
