Prologue
I hate power.
Why is everyone chasing it so fervently?
The idea was never appealing to me.
The vast chasm it creates, turns this world into a living hell.
The weak fear the strong. The poor envy the rich. And the mediocre lust after the glory that comes with being hailed as the greatest.
But the elite themselves also want more power.
The rich embezzle from their companies, steal and commit fraud all for the allure of more authority.
The strong seek means to grow stronger to the point of destroying their bodies to satisfy their egos.
The ones that are praised as masters of their trade spend decades refining themselves into becoming their best possible versions, only to be outdone by someone younger.
The world worships power and those who chase it. Not knowing that they themselves become slaves to their greed.
I’m sick of it.
The world won’t even let those who want to remove themselves from these mad games, and call them unmotivated, lazy and mentally disturbed.
Well, it doesn’t change anything!!!
The rich man still dies when he grows old! The best of the best still lose to cheaters and mechanical replacements!
It’s even in our media.
I looked over to the boy who’s phone he was holding. “Why do you watch this rubbish?” I asked.
The boy didn’t respond. So, I threw the phone against the boy’s head.
I hate this world. Everything about it.
In some ways you could say I was an anomaly.
I saw this world differently than others.
And as you guessed it, I became ostracized for it.
…
Is that what you thought I’d say?
These people are pathetic. It doesn’t matter if your different, all you have to do is tick all their boxes and they let you in.
Though their self-righteous attitude sometimes annoys me.
They think they can classify people into good and bad, just by seeing some of their actions.
Well, I couldn’t blame them. You already have little to go off just by seeing someone. So, I guess you have to judge them by their actions to.
Well, it doesn’t matter.
I stepped on the boy’s head. He was lying face-down on the hard concrete.
We were at the back of our school, and as usual nobody was coming to help.
It wasn’t that nobody saw us, it was that I had too much dirt on them.
I kicked him in the head for good measure. I hate people.
There were far too many reasons for me not to like them. Why would anyone stand them?
Well, I wasn’t any different.
So, I removed myself from the school and walked back home.
Like I always did.
Hating people, and hating power. Those are the two main things I hate.
It wasn’t that I hated people, I hated how they acted.
I didn’t hate power; I hate how it was pursued.
I like myself though.
I like everything about me.
I wouldn’t change a single thing.
In the first place, power comes with responsibility.
That’s a drag. Too much of a pain.
And people always view things how they want them to be seen.
That’s too bad. I see things exactly as is.
Evil is fun. But not all the time.
People paint murderers and terrorists like these heartless monsters.
Well, they are no monsters.
Only humans. Humans that make choices.
I make the best choices.
