Fyie looked utterly stunned, staring ahead without even blinking. I observed her, uncertain about what she was thinking, and asked:

   “You can see this too?”.

“Everything looks a little blurry, but... yes. I can see a green field in the center of the castle... and some animals in the distance", she replied.

I was impressed, but deep inside, an intense feeling of doubt remained.

‘If he’s an enemy... if there are lies in his words... Fyie will be in danger’, I thought.

“Anyway... now we can talk. Kyros, Catherine, in this place... I can fulfill your wishes", he declared. Deep down, I knew nothing came for free.

I couldn’t trust a creature claiming to be ‘God,’ so once again I looked at him seriously and asked,

“What do you want from us?”

His cheerful expression broke apart, and in the blink of an eye, his tone changed completely.

   “I need your help".

My mind raced with everything we had witnessed so far. ‘Why would someone like him need the help of two insignificant humans?’

“You want us to repay our debt by helping you?”, I asked, remembering that he had ‘saved’ us from the demon and was still trying to heal Fyie’s eyes.

“Well, you can think of it that way, but forcing you isn’t my intention", he replied.

“What exactly do you want us to do?”, I asked again, expecting the worst possible answer.

The man let out a deep sigh before beginning his monologue.

“A very long time ago, I made a promise to old allies that, as the God of this world, I would never interfere in its events. Humans possess the free will to choose... becoming good or evil was entirely their own decision, however...", he paused, before turning to observe the animals in the distance.

Hatred grew within my heart. After the massacre of my home and the curse thrown upon us, this ‘God’ still called himself ruler of the world. Merely watching... he sat upon his throne, ignoring the pleas of his dying people while allowing the wicked to prosper.

This being possessed the power to save anyone in need, and yet, still allowed innocent people to suffer... Fyie did not deserve everything she went through... nor did my mother... Where was this God back then?

“Why don’t you interfere... Why do you do nothing?... Shouldn't God protect the righteous... and judge the sinners?”, I asked, raising my voice and growing angry at everything.

Fyie jumped slightly in surprise, but she seemed to understand my reasons when she chose to hold my hand.

The man displayed a sorrowful expression along with another sigh. I didn’t understand it, but I felt that his always-closed eyes did not carry the same sincerity as his words.

“My child...", he began, before I interrupted him.

“I am not your child... the only family I have is Catherine", I affirmed, squeezing her hand and no longer caring about hiding my discomfort.

“Kyros... by not interfering, humans preserve their ability to make their own choices... loving another person or nurturing vengeance are feelings inherent and exclusive to the individual", he argued.

“A righteous man whose path crosses with malicious people may be judged, harmed, or influenced... Every path is part of life, and becomes an individual choice", he concluded.

‘Individual choices?’ I thought, while my mind replayed the night the moon bled. My dissatisfaction grew stronger and stronger until, finally, I exploded.

“Choices?... Not everyone has choices. People die because of the greed of those more powerful than them, and nothing can be done?”, I paused to breathe.

“And even those who dedicated their lives to you die like animals... If everyone is doomed to a fate they cannot choose... why should we follow a ‘God’ like you?” I asked, uttering the greatest blasphemy possible.

Silence filled the space for a few seconds before the ‘deity’ resumed the conversation.

“Kyros... I told you I made a promise never to interfere, but that was not the case with the demon... I defeated him so that you could continue living".

I lowered my head, wondering why. After all the suffering brought by the curse in my life... Why would he save us?... Why let me live?... And above all, why would he break a promise of noninterference?

   “Because... I cannot", he stated.

   “You… can’t...?,” I asked, even more confused.

“Listen carefully. My power surpasses the tolerable limits of both worlds... Let us call the place where you fought the demon as Beta, and the world you came from as Alpha".

He raised both hands to chest level, palms facing upward, forming two spheres of energy.

“These are representations of both worlds. In my left hand is a hollow sphere filled with small particles inside it… this is world Beta. In my right hand is merely a hollow sphere… this is the world Alpha. The number of particles represents the total accumulated energy".

He paused, observing us, despite his closed eyes, checking whether we were paying attention.

“My full power is enough to exceed the total number of particles".

A third humanoid form of energy approached, representing his body entering the worlds.

“As you can see, my mere presence surpasses the maximum number of particles and cracks the boundaries of both worlds".

As he spoke, the small representation entered world Beta, splitting it in half. The same happened to world Alpha.

“Then how were you able to enter Beta and help us fight the demon?”, Fyie asked.

“World Beta already possesses a minimum amount of energy, making it strong enough to endure my suppressed presence for a short time. I left most of my power here and jumped there to help you both for less than three minutes", he explained, turning toward Fyie.

“The same would not be possible in world Alpha, because without that minimum energy to strengthen it, my soul would destroy it instantly", he concluded.

I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to absorb all the information. None of this was normal where we came from, but our pasts forced us to believe his words.

Gods, demons, an energy capable of destroying nations, and another capable of annihilating entire worlds... it all sounded absurdly fantastical... but not impossible.

“So what do you really want us to do?” I asked more directly than before.

“Well, first of all... I will provide the necessary assistance for Catherine’s eyes, and for you, Kyros... I have a personal request".

   “A personal request?”, I asked.

“I want you to fight in my name", he proclaimed, extending his right hand for a handshake.

   “Fight... in your name?”.

My eyes widened as I imagined standing beneath the same flag as the possible cause of my family’s massacre.

I had sworn vengeance against my father, but I never imagined I would stand before a ‘deity.’ At the same time, if everything he said was true, I would have no chance against him. I would die meaninglessly and throw away the promise I made to Fyie.

I forced myself to ignore the words of the self-proclaimed ‘Creator’ in order to have a chance to heal her eyes. That is why I am here... and because of that, I can do anything.

“Tell me... What do I have to do?”
