“I… see.” 

Alice sits back in her chair, taking in everything Isamu has told her.

“Edward… If there’s anything I can do, let me know.”

“Thanks hon, really. It’s going to take a bit but I'll get him back.”

“That’s good to hear. I wasn’t expecting you to say Ms. White is under the same roof as you currently.”

“Yes, well a lot is happening.” Isamu dejectedly looks down at his lap and I rub his shoulder.

“Right, of course. You’ll be wanting to work remotely for the moment, correct?” Alice says this as she types away on her keyboard before the projected display shows an email notification. 

“I’ve sent over some documents for you to go over. There isn’t a huge rush but do try and get through them sooner rather than later. Christine, call me when you get a chance. Once this all calms down we need to seriously catch up.”

I smile warmly at her before replying, “That we do Alice, that we do. You’ll be hearing from me, don’t you worry.”

“Glad to hear it. Isamu, don’t feel pressured to come into the office, I and the team can handle things here. If we need direct input from you, we know how to get in contact with you. Talk to you soon.” 

Before even letting us reply, Alice ends the call. 

“There really is no stopping that woman.”

“She also hasn’t changed one bit.” I say with an obvious smirk on my face.

Kissing him lightly on the cheek, I slide out of bed, facing the bathroom. “Right then, shower time I think. SOMEBODY gave me quite the workout last night.”

Hearing a stifled laugh behind me, I hear Isamu shuffle over onto the same side of the bed as me. “I think I’ll join you.” he says as stands next to me.

“Uh huh. To ‘shower’, right?”

Isamu takes my hand, clasping his large hands with mine, stroking the back of my hand with his thumb. 

“Eventually.” He grins as he looks down towards me with his taller frame. 

He must be mad to think even for a second I'd have lost any interest in him. Even at age 55, he honestly doesn't look much different than he did in his 20s, the only difference being he has much more refined facial features… and his body is still as toned as when I last saw him. 

Blushing, I'm led into the bathroom.
