Villain doesn't want to be a Protag

Jul 11, 2026

Once everyone was seated in the auditorium a professor walked in.

The professor was a man. He seemed to be in his early thirties with black hair slicked back.

He wore a dark blue loose robe that flowed around him as he walked.

He reached the podium and stood on it. His eyes scanned the children who would attempt to join the academy today.

His voice boomed through the auditorium reaching the participants even without a voice amplifying device.

"Welcome to the entrance exam that will no doubt affect your lives forever!" His voice rang out across the auditorium.

He didn’t allow his voice to settle before continuing;

"In a few moments you will be transferred into the forest of monsters, where your first trial will begin."

He made sure everyone was paying attention before going on; "Your objective is to hunt monsters."

He paused, then started walking off the podium.

"There are three types of monsters you will encounter in the forest."

"First, second-, and third-degree monsters will be present."

By then he had gotten off the podium and was in front of the stage.

"For those of you who don't know, first degree monsters are the weakest types of monsters in this world."

"If you can't defeat them then you honestly shouldn’t even be here." He said, chuckling.

"Each monster gives a certain number of points when you hunt them. First degree monsters give five points."

"Second degree monsters give fifty points and third-degree monsters give two hundred points."

"Your goal is to reach five hundred points." The professor placed both hands behind his back.

"Now, you are allowed to exceed this limit." He continued. "And this is important because it determines your rank in the academy."

The ears of the children perked up.

"Oh, so now you decide to listen." the professor scoffed.

"The details of how the ranks work will be specified once you’re admitted."

"Oh, and by the way..." The professor smiled darkly.

"Regardless of your score by the end of the test, only the top 300 students will gain admission into the academy."

The people gathered all gasped in shock.

This meant 600 people would be going home empty handed.

And before that bomb settled another was dropped,

"You are also allowed to eliminate the competition."

Some of the candidates squinted their eyes at this.

The rules were quite bold. The academy wasn't pulling any punches.

Some aspirants exchanged wary glances.

Others had a nervous air around them, especially those with weaker fighting skills.

"Sir!" A girl raised her hand in the air to ask a question.

"Yes?" The professor asked with a knowing smirk on his face.

"What's the point of getting to the three-hundred-point goal then?" She asked.

"Hmmm... " The professor nodded in approval.

"Even if you make it to the top 300, if you haven't accomplished the goal then you won't be able to pass."

Some more students raised their hands but were quickly shut down by the professor walking towards the exit.

"That's all the information you need to know."

Leaving those words behind, he left the auditorium in silence.

The people were left with nothing left to do except chatter.

The noise was deafening. Some of the aspirants knew each other, others were trying to make new friends.

There were a few who were trying to make alliances in order to make passing easier.

But it was noticeable that a small number of participants stood out by not talking to anyone.

Or at least not putting in too much effort.

A golden-haired boy with his legs propped upon the chair in front of him was apparently sleeping.

A girl with short black hair was sharpening a sword that resembled a katana.

A blindfolded girl with white hair had her hands in a praying gesture while sitting.

A boy with red hair, was talking with a girl with green hair.

While others were scrambling to get as many allies as possible, some kids remained fairly isolated from the rest.

And then it happened.

The candidates were all covered in a yellow glow.

"Woah!"
"Ahh! What's happening!!"

"My body, what's going on with my body!!"

The aspirants were all fairly surprised, some even freaking out.

With a bright flash, all the participants were gone, the auditorium was now empty.
