"Is it really that big of a deal??" Ada asked from behind the two teachers.
She walked to the two and squeezed her head in between them.
Her head popped out, allowing her to see what they were watching.
"Oh! That boy isn't doing so bad for a commoner." She exclaimed, clearly impressed.
"I'd like to have him in my class when this is over." Grimm said, an excited smile on his face.
Grimm scanned through the panels, "What about those two, Hebus?" Grimm gestured towards a particular section of the screen.
Hebus followed Grimm's gaze and saw two people walking side by side.
One of the two was a tall girl clad in armor. She had red hair and gleaming orange eyes.
She was wearing chain mail, along with black gauntlets and dark boots on her feet.
She walked like a trained fighter, seeming to have a deep well of experience fighting.
"Wow, Grimm. Are you sure you don't want this girl instead?” Ada pointed at the girl.
Grimm didn't respond. He had a complicated look in his eyes. He let out a sigh and said, "We'll see."
Hebus looked at Grimm from the side of his vision, then turned back to the screen.
"What about the other one?" He asked.
Ada and Grimm both noticed the other person who was walking beside the tall girl.
It was honestly hard to notice him since the bag he was carrying dwarfed him.
Ada honestly thought it was just the tall girl's luggage moving beside her somehow.
It wasn't out of the realm of possibility.
The boy had a pair of round glasses and blue eyes. His black hair was properly combed giving him a composed air.
He was lugging the said 'luggage' on his back while walking beside the girl.
"Hmmm." Hebus tried to remember if he recognized either of the two from the list of candidates.
The list of candidates was free to access by any faculty member of the school.
Hebus was a curious person by nature so he had perused the list before the day of the exam.
He may or may not have skipped out on some meetings and classes to go through everything.
The information on each candidate was extensive. Averaging 10 pages per aspirant at least.
Though Hebus wasn't jobless or bored enough to memorize every single candidate.
So, he simply noted those that had grabbed his attention.
Markus the Mercenary was one of them. With his fame gained on several battlefields, it wasn't hard to fill his catalogue with feats.
"Those two shouldn't be anything special then." Hebus concluded.
Grimm glanced at him briefly, opening his mouth to argue. But in the end, he didn't.
Hebus noticed, but refrained from commenting.
Ada suddenly shouted "Wait! I completely ignored it until now but..."
"Why aren't those two attacking each other??"
Ada turned to each of her fellow professors looking for an explanation.
Grimm looked at her, "Isn't it obvious? They're clearly working together."
Hebus nodded, "I mean it isn't exactly rare right now. There are probably tens of teams moving together as we speak."
Ada shook her head, "A team of two? What would be the point of that?"
"Those who resort to forming groups, do so because of strength in numbers. Why stop at two?" Ada said, very confident in her observation.
Grimm and Hebus paused for a moment, then looked at each other.
Hebus stepped forward, stretching his arm out to make contact with the [World's Reflection].
"[Rewind]" Hebus gave it a command.
The image of the boy and girl walking together stopped.
The two then started walking backwards, seemingly moving in a reverse like motion.
This continued until they reached the part where the two met in front of the patch of darkness.
At seeing the girl hoist the boy into the air Ada whistled, "She's impressive alright."
"She's trained. I can't wait to see what she'll do in the coming challenges." Grimm said.
"What do you think Heb... Hebus?" Grimm asked looking at Hebus who had dashed out of the room.
"Pause it!!" He shouted over his back, shutting the door and bolting through the corridor.
Grimm and Ada stood there awkwardly, not sure what to do.
Ada eventually placed her palm on the screen to pause the image.
When Hebus came back he came back with a bag of meat skewers and three bottles of wine in his hands.
"What are those for?" Grimm asked.
Hebus rushed to his chair and dragged it closer to the screen.
"You guys should hurry and grab a seat too!" Hebus said excitedly.
Ada and Grimm still stood there, confused. "Why...?" Ada asked.
Hebus placed a hand on the [World's Reflection] and un-paused it.
"Because I can tell..." Hebus handed the bottles of wine to Grimm and Ada.
"This is going to be entertaining."
The two professors were skeptical at first.
But with each passing moment they were proven wrong.
From the way the girl hoisted the small boy into the air, to the part where she said 'I like you'.
The professors were definitely entertained.
"Oh! Oh! Do you think they'll get together?" Ada said munching on a piece of bread they'd gone to get earlier.
"Nah!" Grimm said, "It's clear that the boy is irritated by her." Grimm stroked his scruffy beard like a wise sage.
Ada pressed a hand to her forehead, "Tsk, I shouldn't have expected any more from you."
Hebus took another sip of his wine, "At the very least, this examination will be entertaining for us professors."
