“Lucien? What are you doing here? ”

Dan was surprised. The two other managers from different teams were startled as well. Everyone in the company knew that Lucien and Dan are brothers-in-law.

Despite this fact, nobody saw them together inside the company.

Lucien never came to see Dan in his office, and neither did Dan. But today was different. Lucien looked visibly shaken.

Lucien was slightly shorter than the average man. He was also a bit skinny. Because of his loose long sleeves and black pants, his body frame seemed slender.

He also has thick black hair that covered his forehead and emphasized his huge sparkling eyes.

Right now, Lucien was covered in sweat, and his hand holding his phone was visibly shaking.

Without wasting another second, Lucien hurriedly said,

“Something happened in Leila’s school. Three students are attacking teachers with knives.”

Everyone paled.

And Dan’s heart missed a beat when he heard his wife’s voice on the phone.

“He—help me. My students… the—they are coming after me.”

“Fuck.” Dan immediately stood up and took Lucien’s hand.

“Baby, where are you? I’m coming.” As he asked, Lucien pulled him, and they both ran out of the office towards the emergency stairs.

Luckily, their office was only on the second floor. When they came out of the company building, they noticed a crowd of students crying, shouting, and running in different directions.

Police personnel were already in the area. It seemed they had just arrived as they tried to control the scene.

More and more cars from the police and ambulances poured out. Many students were sitting at the side of the street, bleeding from the different stab wounds the culprit inflicted on them.

“Call more backup! ”

“Ambulance! Paramedics! Check the wounds on these students.”

“You go to the east and gather the students together. Check if anyone was wounded or needs immediate treatment.”

“Ten people will follow me.”

The police have started taking control of the scene. Half of the force stayed behind to stop the students from running around. They did their best to calm them down while checking if anyone was wounded.

Most of the police have marched towards the school; they guided as many students as possible to the safe area where paramedics will check if they have wounds.

Dan and Lucien noticed the group of students with teachers, so they went to them. However, Leila was not in them.

To make matters worse, Leila has ended the call.

More and more police personnel have arrived. They barricaded the school gate to prevent those who escaped from coming back inside again. Parents who have heard the news were also forbidden to enter.

This made it even more difficult for Lucien and Dan.

Clicking his tongue, Dan tried to dial Leila’s number again. But no answer.

“Lucien, here.” Dan gives Lucien back his phone. “I will look around the area to search for Leila. In the meantime, stay here. If you saw her, call me immediately.”

“Got it.” Lucien nodded.

Then Dan disappeared in the crowd.

Lucien clutched his phone and prayed for his sister’s safety. His heart is still beating so loud that his hands start shaking.

He glanced around and noticed that the second-floor terrace of the cafe adjacent to the school was empty. Without hesitation, he went inside and climbed up.

He can see the school ground. Many police have come inside. There are still students who haven’t come out. Some of them were covered in blood.

The police immediately run towards one of the male students who was covered in blood.

As Lucien watched this student, he was surprised to see this one was not panicking. His hands and white polo uniform were covered in blood.

The police seemed to ask something.

The more Lucien watched, the more he had a bad feeling.

The student took a step forward and then got the hidden kitchen knife from his waist. The policeman reacted quickly and held down the teenager’s wrist before smacking the knife away from his hand.

The student attempted to struggle, but the policeman tackled him to the ground and put handcuffs on his hands.

The other policemen who witnessed the incident immediately came running over.

“Aaahhhh!!!! “Someone screamed outside of the cafe.

Lucien knew that voice too well. When he ran to the other side, he saw two students and a pregnant woman on the ground.

It was his sister, Leila.

“Fuck.” Lucien cursed lowly and almost flew down the stairs, heading outside.

The cafeteria was empty because the people have run outside. And because of the other students’ screams and cries after the attack, nobody heard Leila screaming in pain.

When Lucien arrived, he saw Leila curling her knees and head to protect her stomach.

“No, please. No. Not my baby. Don’t hurt my baby.” Her pleas were drowned out. The two students were kicking at her, targeting her stomach area.

Lucien’s blood boils. He wasn’t a fighter. He doesn’t have a plan formulated. But he immediately rushed in and shoved a student roughly while he punched the other in the face.

“Fuck, who the hell are you?! ”

Instead of getting scared for being caught, the student he punched brazenly punched Lucien back.

“Lucien! “Leila screamed.

Lucien did not notice that the other student he pushed had crept behind his back and stabbed him at his side.

It must be because of the adrenaline or the boiling anger of seeing his pregnant sister being beaten up, but he stepped on the student’s feet, hard, and then slammed his elbow on the student’s face.

He used all the strength that he could muster in that attack. He was sure that the student’s nose was broken.

“You fucking brats,” Lucien slurred. He rushed towards the student who punched him and slammed his stomach head-on.

This caused the student to tumble down against the wall and hit his head. Successfully knocking the kid unconscious.

“Arrghh! “Lucien groaned.

“When I was a student, I could only think of grades and cutting classes.”
