Taka likes sitting on the windowsill in the Captain’s office. 

While the Captain is working outside, Taka stays in a jar.

Not the same one he came in…

This one is bigger.

It feels like he has more room to move around.

His mist swirls freely inside the glass.

From there he can see the garden below.

The birds flying past the window.

The flowers dancing in the wind.

The clouds and all their funny shapes.

The sun gently warms the glass.

It is a nice contrast from the potion master’s office, which seemed to always be cold and dark. 

Taka always feels yellow here.

When the Captain works in his office, he lets Taka walk around, or lay on the couch.

He likes that Rowan always answers his questions while he works.

He will occasionally bring some sweets for him to try.

To Taka, this is better than anything he could have asked for.

…

One day, a familiar guest comes back with the Captain.

“I wouldn’t say that. It was more of a sweeping motion, rather than a swiping.” 

Taka turns his head to see the golden-haired man… Majesty.

…

Rowan groans. “I don’t care whether it was sweeping, swiping, or stabbing, you need to teach it to me.”

Killian laughs.

He sits on the couch while Rowan walks to the windowsill.

Gently lifting the jar, he twists off the lid and sets it on its side on the floor. 

Taka hesitates, staring at Killian.

…

Rowan simply waits.

...

"Rowan..." He chuckles. "I think you have to be messing with me."

…

Rowan walks over to sit across from him on the couch. “He will come out when he’s ready.”

Killian stares at the jar on the floor before turning back to Rowan.

Rowan crosses one leg over the other and leans back on the couch with a confident smile.

Killian shakes his head with a chuckle.

…

The room falls quiet.

The only sound is the ticking of the clock.

…

After a few moments, Taka slowly peeks out of the jar.

Killian glances over, his eyes widen slightly.

Without even looking, Rowan’s smile grows.

The fog drifts from the jar.

It twists and curls through the air, taking the shape of a young boy.

He opens his eyes as they land on Killian.

They quietly stare at each other.

“That’s about how I reacted too.” Rowan chuckles.

Killian is silent for a moment before he lets out a single laugh, almost like relief.

“...Hello.” Taka says, fidgeting with his hands.

“...Hello, Taka.” Killian says calmly.

Taka’s eyes shift up to his golden hair, as he lifts his hand and touches his own.

Killian huffs an amused breath. “Very curious.” 

He looks back at Rowan, who has a big grin on his face, like he won a competition between them.

“Alright…” He smiles. “I was wrong.”

Taka tilts his head before slowly walking over to Rowan.

He reaches over and grabs Rowan's sleeve.

“Did you bring a cookie today?” He tugs slightly on his sleeve.

Rowan smiles warmly. “Not today, I will bring some tomorrow.”

“...Okay…” Taka looks down before glancing back at Killian. “Did you bring a cookie, Majesty?”

Killian’s expression brightens

“Do you like cookies?”

Taka nods.

“In that case…” Killian stands, offering his hand out. “I can bring you to some.”

Taka looks at the offered hand.

Then at Rowan.

Rowan gives him a small nod.

Taka places his hand in Killian's.

Killian leads Taka out the door.
