Alex covers his scar with a band aid; the scar was like a warning from his father. He puts on his black blazer over white t-shirt and puts on his loafer. After putting all his stuff in his car, he heads towards university. 

The day seems a little cloudy and gloomy. As Alex was driving, he recognised one student who was trying to cross the road. It was Liam.

Liam had a minor injury on his left foot because of yesterday’s accident. Alex sees him and stops his car in front of Liam. 

Liam got startled with the sudden action and was about to fall on the road. But Alex reaches his hand and saves him. Liam looks relieved as he sees Alex is fine after yeseterday's event.  

Alex- “Good Morning, If I am not mistaken you are Liam?” 

“I saw you yesterday.” Alex continues in gentle tone.

Liam's face becomes pale from fright as he thinks Alex has seen him yesterday outside that building. To cover up things and to escape the suspicion he starts to say gibberish.

“Professor, Good morning. Oh yeah, I am really sorry for causing you trouble yesterday.”

“You see, I am a little new to the city. That’s why I sometimes can be seen at places I don’t belong.” Liam nervously laughs.

Alex laughs at Liam – “Oh I see. It’s not a big deal.” 

“You do not need to apologize for such a thing.”

“By the way what happens to your foot. Are you ok?" Alex says as he look at Liam's Injured foot.

Liam understands that Alex didn’t have the idea that he was at the crime scene and gives him a lame excuse. Alex offers Liam a ride to university. 

“No, I can walk on my own.” Liam says and tries to escape. But in the end, he sits beside Alex in the car.

Liam putting his seat belt on again starts to think it is so awkward what should I do? Where should I look? Oh, he has black spot near his neck or is it TATTO?

“Professor, do you like your current profession? You never get tired of it?" Liam tries to ease the awkwardness.

Alex looks at Liam and smiles a little and again looks at the road without answering the question.

Liam again tries to initiate conversation “Sorry, I almost forgot you don’t entertain such questions. My bad.”

Alex chuckles softly and replies with a gentle expression on his face “Liam I absolutely love my job. What do you think, can a person ever get tired of earning money?”

Liam looks in the rearview to catch a glimpse of Alex's face. Liam inside his mind thinks What a joke? I did not know teaching can get more money than being a mafia?

“Professor, I think money matters and earning it requires hard work.” Liam replies.  

Alex “Yes, you are right. I agree.”

Liam again continues “But in my opinion a person’s life also matters; it also requires safety and care. Do you agree?” 

Liam looked in Alex's direction but Alex's eyes were fixed on the road. Not a difference in his expression can be seen. 

Alex notices the silence and answers “Liam a person’s life is as fragile as a glass. One small fall and it will shatter beyond recovery.”

“Keeping it safe and to provide deep care for such fragility will never produce positive results.” Alex continues.

Alex looks at Liam and in curious tone asks “Liam, what do you think requires more effort to earn Money or Love?”

Liam suddenly gets lost in his own thoughts. The person sitting beside him has killed one person yesterday or may have killed many in the past, but from his talk it feels like he did not value life. Then why yesterday that sadness was there in his face, why was he showing that kind of expression? Such thoughts were pushing Liam in a conflict and he miss Alex's question.

Liam “I am sorry I missed your question, what was it?”  

Alex parks his car in the parking lot. He unfastens his seatbelt and leans towards Liam. Liam gets shocked at Alex's actions but plays along with it. 

Alex smirks and replies “Liam you know your mind is elsewhere. You have a wandering mind.”

“You should focus on me.” As Alex was saying he came closer to Liam. 

Alex unfastens Liam's seatbelt and with a soft laugh he sits back at his own seat. Liam experiences mixed emotions of fear and a little bit of excitement. But as he looks at Alex again, he senses the vibe of unwillingness. 

Unwillingness to change and to value something more than his pride. Liam gets down from the car and moves towards his Lecture hall. 

Alex in the staff room was constantly looking at something. An old book covered with a scraped poster with a name inside called Liam. Alex turns out the pages in the book as he was looking, he came across a page with scribbles and some written sentences. 

In which one sentence caught Alex's eyes. Liam in his lecture hall was attending his classes but he was simultaneously thinking about yesterday’s incidents. Suddenly a boy named Garon taps Liam's shoulder and says. 

Garon - “Liam your history book. I saw it in the staff room today. It was beside the new history professor’s chair. You should take it from him.”

Liam's expression suddenly changes and his face goes pale as he remembers words written on that book. He suddenly stands up from his desk and storms out of class and runs straight towards the staff room. 

As Alex was reading that sentence, he heard footsteps approaching him. It was Liam who came there. He was still out of breath because of running. As Alex looks up, he sees Liam standing there in front of his face with trembling hands. There was fear in those emerald green eyes and a little bit of disappointment tearing at the edge of those long eyelashes too.

Alex takes a good look at that face and continues “I see. You are here.”

“Would you like to share?” ……..
