Entry 1659:
Date: August 22, 2061
She's injured?! How the hell did that happen? How did she even make it back here with a wound like that? Why the hell did she come to me instead of the medical bay? This place is massive; there is no way in hell they don’t have a medical bay. Somewhere better equipment to treat her than the tiny bottle of vodka I used to disinfect her wound and the fishing line she had me stitch into her abdomen. What if it gets infected? I can't help her without antibiotics. What if the Exposed blame me and try to kill me?
I have a thousand questions and thoughts swirling through my mind, most of which I cannot answer. The loudest one is that she finally spoke to me. If she could understand me all this time, why now? Maybe she only did it because she was dying, but either way, I need to get her to talk to me again. I have to figure out how to get her to let me go peacefully. If I get lucky, maybe she can even send me on my way with a backpack full of rations and a knife as a thank you for saving her life.
I need to get her to at least take me out of this room. When she first brought me here, I saw other moles that seemed to wander at the sides of other Exposed. Maybe I can ask them for more information about this place. They seemed to have more freedom than I do. Maybe I can convince her to take me to their medical bay so I can get proper stuff to treat her wound.
At times like this, I almost wish I hadn't left the bunker, but then again, just thinking back to a few months ago, before I ran, sends chills down my arms...

Wren sat on the small cot, hunched over her journal. The beginning of this entry looked like a madman's writing from how frantically she had written it all down the second she woke up and remembered what had happened. The exposed woman still slept beside her, taking up most of the cot.
The woman's eyes fluttered open as the persistent scratching sound that filled her room halted. She gazed up at the girl who seemed lost in her own treacherous thoughts. She knew that expression; Wren was reminiscing, a phenomenon she herself knew to be all too dangerous.
A shaky hand reached out and latched onto Wren's arm, causing the girl to jump nearly to the ceiling in shock. Wren frantically wiped away a stray tear before calming as she noticed her sharp movement had caused the woman to wince in pain. "Oh, sorry… " You just startled me," Wren huffed, feeling a bit bad as she helped the woman into a sitting position. "Uh..Thank you for actually taking off the chains; I mean, I know I'm still technically stuck in here, but still." Wren huffed as she pulled off the woman's rag-like shirt and began to assess the injury once more.
The Exposed woman just watched Wren like usual. Wincing every time the girl touched the skin around her wound. She gave a half-grumble when Wren asked what happened. "It was stupid coming to me; what if I didn't know what I was doing? Were you going to try to stitch it yourself? You could have- no, probably would have died if I didn't have medical training," Wren scolded the woman, clicking her tongue at the state of the wound. "I think there is a good chance you broke a rib or two, and these gashes are incredibly deep. It's a miracle it didn't puncture any organs. It doesn't look infected yet, thanks to the little alcohol you had in your medkit, but it could still very well turn into something I can't fix; you need to go get actual help," Wren rambled off to the woman, nagging her as she helped her get her clothes back on.
It had been a very long time since she had gotten to use her medical skills; it almost sent a ping of excitement through her.
"Right, let's get you showered. I almost forgot that was an option here," Wren sighed as she tried to pull the woman from the bed, who gave no indication of moving as she tilted her head to the side and stared into Wren. "What? Come on!" Wren huffed in annoyance before going silent as the woman grabbed her wrist and pulled it up close to her face. A loud, displeased rumble left the woman as she pushed Wren's sleeve up and looked at the rash and bruising the cuff had left behind. She hadn't meant to hurt the girl. She traced a thumb along it, feeling the soft jerk Wren gave in protest. She couldn't help but fixate on how small the girl's wrist was in her hand. Wren stiffened; she wasn't used to this kind of tender touch. The woman's fingers wrapped around her entire wrist, but her grip was oddly careful.
Slowly, the woman's eyes moved up to Wren's. Her free hand reached to the other side of the bed, where she grabbed the girl's journal. "Wait- hey!" Wren shouted in protest as she saw the Woman holding it; up until now, she thought she had done a good job hiding it. She didn't think the Woman would take kindly to her documenting how she chained Wren up. Yet she calmed as the woman seemed to care less about what was actually written in it. The woman simply opened it to the first page and flipped it around to Wren, pointing at the name written inside. "Wren, that's me," Wren read aloud in a skeptical manner. Watching as the woman gave a pleased nod.
A second later, she threw down the book and pushed the palm of her free hand into Wren's chest. "Wr-" slipped from her lips before she paused. Did she really want to do this? Sure, a few others had taken a pet mole, but- she didn't really consider this girl a *pet* in that way. She didn't see any of the moles like that.
A soft internal debate played out in the woman's mind as Wren stood in front of the cot, unable to move with her arm stuck in the woman's grasp. "What was the point of the chains coming off if I still can't move around?" Wren thought to herself before jumping slightly as she heard the woman's voice.
"Wren," The woman finally let slip from her lips as she pushed her hand into the girl’s chest. Wren stared down at the woman in a frozen state. Her name coming from this woman's lips felt... unexpected. "Uh- Y-yes. Yes. I'm Wren," she stuttered, not knowing what to do. A long pause of silence blared between the two of them. Like they were studying what the other would do next. Then the woman turned her palm back on herself and pushed it into her own chest. "Bellamy"
Wren's eyes went wide as Bellamy said her name. This felt like a huge step toward being treated less like a prisoner. "Bellamy?" Wren repeated before her cautious expression melted into a slightly weary smile. "That's uh-" She paused, seeing Bellamy's eyes piercing into her like daggers, daring her to insult it. She simply chuckled. "Relax, it's a good name. Now come on, let's get you cleaned up."
