Caleb POV

I opened the door and entered with my sister waiting behind.

Unknown POV

We were scared when we heard a noise at the entrance. Just then, my son entered.

Caleb POV (Main Character)

When I sighted my Mummy, she ran to me and gave me a long hug. I checked around the hideout and saw about fifteen people in here.

Mrs. Parker (signs): Where is your sister?

Me (signs): Here she is (I said, pointing to her as she walked in with the other lady).

My Mummy gave her an hug also. I bowed my head alongside my sister and Linda. And the people inside the Hideout waved their hands back and bowed also. It is a sign of greeting.

Me (signs): What happened?

Mrs. Parker (signs): The beasts and the vampires came attacking yesterday evening, and many people died. John (my father) locked us in here and went outside with other men to fight the vampires and the beast. I just hope they are alive.

Me (signs)(sadly): Mum... Father is dead.

Mrs. Parker (she felt lost it as she almost fell but I was fast to grab by the hand): What happened she final asked.

Me: He was killed by the vampire.

I went ahead and explained everything to my Mum, from how Abigeal was kidnapped to the time I looked for her and how Daddy died in the hands of the vampire, as she just wept bitterly. A woman beside her consoled her. I and my sister also wept silently as Linda joined us in weeping. She was trying to comfort us especially me but she ended up joining, so funny. Whenever I remember this day no matter how sad I am, I smile.

Caleb POV

My sister took Linda into her own room to manage with her, while my Mummy asked me about Linda, and I told her that I met her after we had successfully destroyed the vampires.

Me: We met her on our way home.

Mrs. Parker: Okay.

Those people locked with my Mummy found their way to their houses after consoling Mum, or should I say themselves, because almost all their husbands were killed while protecting the lives of their wives and kids.

One day later

Linda POV

I was in the room with Abigael when the door suddenly opened as silently as possible, little by little, until it was fully open. Caleb came into view, and his back was turned to us, and I understood immediately. He wouldn't want to walk in on his sister naked. His sister came down from the bed and touched his shoulder, and he turned to face us. He entered into the room and sat down on an old chair in Abigael's room.

Caleb POV

After entering my sister's room, I took a book and complemented her beauty. I wrote in the book, "Did you know that your beauty can make the saddest man happy again? You are the most beautiful lady I have ever seen in my life." I gave it to her, and she blushed; yeah, I could detect that. She wrote something back and gave it to me while my sister was just watching us, aware of what was going on. It read, "You are not bad either," and I smiled. I wrote again, "Are you feeling hungry?" She wrote replying, "No, your caring sister has already asked me about that." I wrote again, "Don't feel shy because right now, as I am writing to you, I am feeling hungry; I haven't eaten anything since yesterday." She wrote replying, "Okay, sorry about that. Go get something to eat."

Just as I read the paper, my Mummy entered Abigael's room and dropped a wooden tray of food.

Mrs. Parker (signs): You all should eat; don't starve to death. You haven't taken anything since yesterday. You know your daddy won't be happy seeing you starve like this because of him... And when you are through eating, let me treat your wounds.

Me (signs): Okay, ma.

(My sister wept silently as I consoled her).

My Mummy left, and we ate the food, even though we didn't really have an appetite.

Unknown POV

I saw a lady Caleb brought with him into the village, and I saw how happy he is with her. This makes me jealous because one, she is beautiful, and two, I have never seen Caleb smile before by merely looking at a lady. I need to tell Caleb about my feeling for him before that stupid girl from nowhere snatches him away from me. Anyway, my name is Clara Davidson. My mother is still alive; my father was killed by the beast yesterday, and words could not describe how I wept yesterday. I do have feelings for Caleb, but he seems not to notice me. If that girl tries to make Caleb love her more, I will kill her.
