The room was small and had only one bed moved into the corner. When Rabbit walked into view a mirror he simply stared at the reflection. He now knew why that bandit had mentioned his eyes. His left eye was green and to put it simply had life behind them but the right one was red and resembled the eyes of a deceased person. Rabbit closed his left eye to check to see if he could even see out of the right one. His vision out of that eye was just as if not better than the left eye.
Another thing he had noticed was a little bit of hair that stood up. Instead of red like the rest of his hair, that one bit was black. Rabbit tried to brush it down with his hand, but it immediately sprung back up.
Stepping back from the mirror he took off the cloak that was draped over his shoulders that he had been wearing since he awoke in the forest. Then he removed the tunic under it to see if he had any marks that might jog his memory of who he is.
There wasn’t a single mark on his skin under the tunic and he honestly didn’t feel like stripping completely down at the moment. Pulling his tunic back on he sat on the bed, surprised by the softness. Laying down Rabbit very quickly fell asleep, his body completely shutting off from the exhaustion.
The next thing he knew, Rabbit was in an opened field. Faceless people surrounded him and the chattering was deafeningly loud. Any word that Rabbit caught he couldn’t comprehend, even though he could understand that words being said. The meanings were completely lost on him for reasons he didn’t know. Although no one had faces, they didn’t all look the same. Some were giants towering over the rest of the figures, some were small only going up to the knees of many of the other figures. A handful had visibly pointed ears that the rest lacked.
The deafening chattering got increasingly louder as seconds passed, and covering his ears didn’t seem to make it any quieter.
“Little bunny, do you need any help?”
Rabbit looked around trying to figure out where the voice had come from. Unlike the noise from the faceless figures he could understand that voice clearly.
“Is the bunny lost, although you’re not actually a bunny are you?”
One of the figures walked up to Rabbit, the form shifting as it got closer to him. The figure was hard to look at, it was surrounded by blinding white in a silhouette that resembled wings wrapped around them. As the wings moved away from the figure’s head Rabbit was greeted with an androgynous face and glowing red eyes with black sclera.
Rabbit tried to ask who they were but he discovered that he couldn’t make a single noise.
“Sorry, you can’t say anything here my little bunny.” The figure said with a smile, “This isn’t a place you’re even supposed to be.”
Rabbit wanted to ask the figure where he was but despite his voicelessness the figure seemed to understand.
“You are in my domain and this is a place where the creations of Amanita or well any other being lose function here in odd ways. Seems like you can’t speak, little bunny.” It cupped Rabbit’s cheeks gently, its hands were hot to the touch. “You should return to Elva, you are not meant to be here.” It kissed Rabbit’s forehead and everything faded to black.
