Instead of having Rabbit eat breakfast in the tavern part of the inn, Grace had brought him into the section that her family lives in. He wasn’t entirely sure why Grace was treating him with this level of familiarity but was not going to stop her.
In the kitchen Grace’s mother, a woman named Lucille, was cooking breakfast for Rabbit. At the table Grace had several books laid out in front of Rabbit and was going over the basics of reading and writing.
“I’m back,” a male voice came from behind Rabbit and Grace. Rabbit could hear something being dropped as the door closed behind them. Turning around he was greeted by a man that looked like a gender bent Grace with the same light brown hair and grayish blue eyes. “Who’s this?”
“Rabbit, he came into the inn last night.” Grace answered.
“Why is he here then?”
“I decided to take him in, look at him.” She gently cupped Rabbit’s cheeks and rested her head on top of his.
“Really Grace?” the man said, his face turning slightly red.
Moving her arms from cupping his cheeks to his shoulders, Grace gently hugged Rabbit.
“He will need work, so can you take him to the guild to register?”
“What’s your class and LV?” The man asked Rabbit.
He tilted his head in confusion, not knowing what the man was talking about.
“Do you not know, if you don’t have a class you’ll have to pick one once we register.” The man sighed, “can you pull up the Status Log?”
“How do I do that?” Rabbit was incredibly confused.
“Put your finger here,” Grace held Rabbit’s hand up, “And here we go.”
Something that looked like a notebook appeared in the air in front of Rabbit.
“This is a Status Log,” Grace said. “Here it has your name…or is supposed to have your name.” She pointed to a spot that had the letters N a m e with two dots next to it, but everything next to it was completely blank. Most of the page was either blank or had a black box covering something that was likely written. “This is the strangest Status Log I’ve seen.” Grace said quietly.
“Is it not supposed to look like that?” Rabbit asked.
“Let me see,” the man walked next to the two of them and looked at the Status Log and opened up his own. “It’s supposed to look like this.”
Name: Reed Clover
Species: Human
Age: 23
Class: Warrior
LV: 40
And the rest was information pertaining to his equipment and stats. It made the lack of information on Rabbit’s Status Log far more noticeable.
“We should be able to get the name and class fixed when we get you registered but your species and age is determined at birth so we can’t do anything with that.” Reed explained, recalling his book and sitting down at the end of the table. “But before we deal with that, let’s eat breakfast.”
