20. ASHES

SHHH…RINGG…. The gun which was spinning fast starts to wobble and stops. Pointing the barrel towards sideways.

Gomut spins the revolver again.

SHHH…RINGG…. The gun which was spinning fast starts to wobble and stops. Pointing the barrel towards Edward and the handle towards Gomut.

Quin let’s out a small sigh of relief. But Gomut smiled as he was waiting for this moment.

“Well now soldier. Look what we have in our hands.”

Edward with the eyes that portray the look of tiredness, look at Gomut and replies, “Just get over with it.”

Gomut smiles, and puts out the revolver that he was using to decided who will get the Dare and who will get the Truth. Said to Edward with a wide grin, “Exact your revenge on Violet…” With a thought added, “There are three bullets in the chamber, and you know the rest. I believe you are not that dumb to fire at us.”

Edward was dumbfounded his look of tiredness got wiped away instantly, he looks at Violet with shock, he wanted to deny, but denial means death for both of them. He gulps, and look gritted his teeth, but he didn’t moved one inch.

Seeing Edward stand still Gomut opens his mouth, But then a frail female voice sounded in the room, “Do it, I deserve it. It will be less painful, by your hands.”

Edward cries as he heard the voice and recognize what Violet had just said, he opens her mouth to retort, but this time the frail voice sounded firm, “The more you wait, the more difficult it will get.”

Edward closes his fist, but then he realises his helplessness, he looking downward and limping, gets close to the Revolver and picks it up with his hand.

Gomut encourages, with a wide grin, Gen and Dan where also smiling, “Come on love birds! show me the power of love.”

Edward gritted and pointed the Revolver towards Violet, Violet smiles with a grin and looks toward Edward, “Nice.”

Edward, looked at Violet for the last time and he turned the gun towards Gomut firing two shorts in rapid succession.

BANG…. BANG….

Gomut was shock, but he was prepared for this he shouted, “Surgere.”

A wall made of crimson red fire rosed up. Covering Gomut , Gen and Dan protecting them from the bullets. but this wall was different, it didn't engulf the bullets, it diverted the metal pieces in another direction. Gomut didn’t wait he started chanting again.

On the other side of the Crimson red fire wall.

As soon as Edward Fired the two shots he didn’t wait for the wall to rose up completely, he tossed the Revolver towards Violet without looking at her. He than ran with an incredible speed, betraying the fact that he was injured heavily on one of his leg, leaving everyone in a greater shock, than from the previous act of Edward firing towards Gomut.

Violet caught the Revolver, and aimed at Edward’s back, she didn’t shoot. She simply watched as Edward jumped into the Crimson red fire wall. May shouted, “Don’t! shoot at Edward.”

Violet with a confuse look, Stared at May.

On Gomut side.

“Condensare”

“Formare”

….

“Emi..”

A figure burst out of the Crimson wall running towards, his clothes were burning, so does his hair, but upon looking with focus one could figure out he was Edward. Gomut who was still chanting the last word got a tight punch on his jaw.

The Crimson wall fell down, the fire that was on Edward died down leaving his charred body and burnt hair expose, his clothes were almost gone it was just the pants holding his lower half.

Gomut was filled with anger, …. how can a mere normal human, hurt him. He disregarded the pain in his jaw and shouted in anger, “Shoot him!”

BANG….

“AHHHH” Gen fell on the ground, crying in pain while holding his left leg with his hand.

Violet shout at Gomut, mocking him, “Your wish is my command, Sir!”

Gomut wanted to retort, but he looks toward Dan. He found him on the ground with a naked man wrapping around his back. The man was Robert who had woken when Edward used his Dare and was waiting for the correct opportunity to ambush.

Gomut greeted his teeth, then he saw the ceiling. Gomut looked in front while laying on the ground. he found that Edward which had burnt his skin and hair is completely fine now, and was now on top of him.

In shock Gomut shouts, “MAGIC!!?”

Edward with a smile replies, “Guess?”

Gomut loses his and tries his best, to get free from Edward, but when he tries to chant Edward takes one extra hits to shut his mouth, disrupting the enchantment process. Again and Again, the same thing happens, Gomut tries, Edward shut down his Efforts. Frustrated he looked at Gen and Dan for help.

Only to find them covered and supress by others. He found that some were coming towards him, to help Edward. Gomut closes his eyes and hold Edward firmly with both his hand, locking him in the grip.

Then he mutters quietly that can’t be hear properly, “aa..dd..fff,..”

Crackle…crackle..

A flame rosed up Engulfing Edward and Gomut both, Edward feeling the heat on his skin, panics a little, but then the green light from the bracelet, shines and heals him. But the fire was persistent, it didn’t fades away, with time, the constant burning was still there but the healing effect was dying down. Then Edward cries of burning in pain sounded in the room.

But Gomut was silently gritting his teeth, it’s not like he was not feeling the pain, but hearing Edward cry he felt a little peaceful.

Violet eyes widen as she heard Edward cry, she ran towards the fire. But it was already over before she could do anything, because Gomut had perished his Flesh and bones turned into ash.

The flames followed the next. Then all there was left was Edward burned body, lifeless, his head was fully burned leaving a black lifeless skull. His body burned badly, it looked like if any one would touch him he would crumble into dust.

Violet stood there with her wide eyes staring what used to be Edward, now a fragile black structured of bones laying lifeless on the ground.
