The doctor was young, similar age to Dohyun and an alpha. Which was pretty surprising because medical fields are largely beta dominated profession.
“Baek Jian.” The doctor raised his hand towards Minwoo, “I am Min Dooshik. I am a psychiatrist; I am here to help you.”
Minwoo glanced at his hand but didn’t take it, instead, he only said, “First I need some food. I don’t think I have eaten anything for at least a whole week.”
The three exchanged glances. Even Dohyun looked intrigued by his reaction, Taemin gestured to someone from outside and a woman wearing black suit entered the room. She was probably a body guard as he took instruction from him and left quickly.
After half an hour, the table was set in front of him with a bowl full of jajangmyeon, three rows of gimbap, kimchi soup and a large soda. Minwoo gobbled up all of that in a record ten minutes before letting out a pretty loud burp that made Taemin choke.
“Okay…” He exhaled, “Now I feel somewhat alright.”
He actually felt all right, he didn’t even realise he was hungry all while. The full stomach made his vision come back. Did Baek Jian really live like this? Starving himself like that?
“Okay…” Dr Min said. He was sitting on a stool by the bed watching him intently, “So…what actually happened?”
Minwoo stared at him, Dr Min Dooshik had an expensive glass perched up his nose. He knew it, Dohyun also had a reading glass from a similar and expensive brand. His hair was neatly combed and his wrist had expensive watch.
“I don’t remember anything about myself.” Minwoo said, “I don’t feel like I am inside my own body.”
“I see.” Dr Min answered, “It happened since you woke up?”
Minwoo nodded, “Yes. Since I woke up.”
“What do you remember and what you don’t remember?” Dr Min asked.
“I remember general things from five years ago,” Minwoo tapped his chin, “but I don’t remember my childhood.”
I see.” Dr Min hummed, “Your physical examination report says you are completely fine. However, since you insist that you have no memories, then I guess the problem is psychological.” He turned to Taemin and Dohyun, “The MRI looked fine to me actually, I think the sudden revival of his heart had caused some sort of psychological damage.”
“Wait wait…” Minwoo interrupted, “Revival? You mean…I died?”
Dr Min blinked, “Yes for a whole three seconds before you were revived.” Then he turned to the others, “I will prescribe some generic sleep medicine to calm him and session with me to possibly make his memories come back.”
Minwoo was listening to him, but his mind was somewhere else. Baek Jian died for a few seconds, before being revived. Yes, when he gained consciousness he heard someone say Baek Jian was revived. Then did Baek Jian actually die? That forum, they were talking about transmigration right? The owner of the body died and someone else occupied it.
He looked up to see Seo Dohyun looking at him as well. His eyes were impassive and cold completely different from his memories. He didn’t know he was Han Minwoo and not Baek Jian, that Minwoo had died and occupied the body of his spouse.
The hospital discharged him two days later. During his stay, the only person to visit him was Seo Taemin. Otherwise, he was delivered a new phone and bunch of clothes.
The phone was expensive enough to pay his house’s mortgage for sure. However, on the day of his discharge when he wore the clothes he cringed.
It was impractical to say the least also the shirt so tight he could barely breathe; he was quite sure it was smaller than his size. The pants were also too tight as well he could not walk properly, only take a few small steps. The shoes were uncomfortable too; he was not used to heels.
He was wearing the hospital gown when he casually walked outside of the bathroom to find Dohyun waiting. Seeing him not ready the alpha only raised his eyebrows, but Minwoo didn’t reply, only dumped the clothes in a nearby bin.
“These clothes are from children’s section.” He said.
Seo Dohyun frowned, “But they bought clothing from omega section.”
“Omega section?” Minwoo scoffed, “If these are average omega clothing then alphas sure have very questionable taste in human body.”
He grabbed the coat and wrapped it around, thankfully it was not several sizes smaller. “Let’s go. I will change at home.”
“You cannot wear these out.” Dohyun replied, “There are reporters outside.”
Minwoo raised his eyebrows, “I am not wearing these children clothing. Either you bring me proper clothing or I leave like this.”
Perhaps Dohyun didn’t expect this retort from him, the alpha became silent. Minwoo was very used to his temperament, as much as he argued in the court room he despised arguing outside of it. If Minwoo pushed enough he eventually gave up and agreed to his demands.
Needless to say, Minwoo had made him agree to a lot of things by arguing relentlessly.
“Alright.” Dohyun said, “I will send someone to grab proper clothing.”
“Tell them to bring normal slacks and shirt from beta section.” Minwoo said, “I am not touching anything from omega section.”
As they sat an hour in silence before the clothing arrived, now way better in terms of fitting. The slacks are easy to move in, the shirt was better, the shoes didn’t hurt. As he wrapped the coat and came outside, he saw Dohyun already standing.
The alpha wordlessly handed him two things, a goggle, and a velvet box.
“They found the wedding ring from the pool.” Dohyun said.
Minwoo opened the box to find diamond ring inside.
