The meeting room slowly emptied as the members of !VVO left to prepare for their assignments. Hollow remained standing beside the large conference table, staring at the map of Gusablam City. Although everyone had agreed to Plan B, he knew earning the city's trust would be far more difficult than gaining the trust of his own organization.
Lament walked back into the room carrying a folder. "Everything's ready," he said, placing it on the table.
Hollow looked up. "Already?"
"The members wasted no time. They're waiting for your orders."
Hollow opened the folder and carefully reviewed the documents inside. They contained reports from every district under !VVO's influence, including damaged properties, shortages of supplies, and requests for assistance from smaller groups connected to the organization.
After reading the final page, Hollow closed the folder.
"We'll start with Basmet Town."
Lament nodded without hesitation. "I expected you'd say that."
"It's where this all began."
The two left the meeting room and walked through the headquarters together. As they reached the main hall, dozens of !VVO members stood waiting. Conversations immediately stopped the moment Hollow appeared.
He looked around the room before speaking.
"Plan B officially begins today. Our first mission isn't to expand our territory or seek revenge. Our first mission is to rebuild what was destroyed."
The members listened in complete silence.
"Basmet Town suffered because of our former leader's actions. We cannot change the past, but we can decide what kind of future we create."
Several members nodded.
"We leave within the hour."
Without another word, everyone immediately began preparing. Some gathered supplies while others organized vehicles and equipment. For the first time in years, the headquarters wasn't preparing for another operation against a rival organization.
It was preparing to help people.
Hollow watched from the entrance as everyone hurried to complete their tasks. A gentle breeze passed through the open doorway, causing his coat to sway slightly.
Lament stepped beside him and smiled.
"They believe in you."
Hollow looked toward the busy headquarters before quietly answering,
"...Then I'll make sure they never regret it."
The first step of Plan B had finally begun.
