The sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains surrounding Basmet Town.
Most of the supplies had already been distributed.
Several members of !VVO continued helping repair damaged homes while others packed the now-empty trucks.
Hollow stood quietly beside the Pathway River that crossed the edge of the town.
The flowing water reminded him how quickly everything could change.
A few days ago...
He was simply another member of !VVO.
Now...
He carried the responsibility of leading an entire organization.
"...Couldn't sleep either?"
Lament's voice came from behind him.
Hollow gave a small smile.
"Not really."
Lament walked beside him and looked toward the river.
"You've been thinking about Vincent."
"...Yeah."
Neither of them spoke for a while.
The sound of the water filled the silence between them.
"I still remember him," Lament finally said.
"He always greeted everyone with that ridiculous smile."
Hollow let out a quiet laugh.
"...It annoyed me."
"But now..."
His smile slowly faded.
"...I'd do anything to see it again."
Lament lowered his head.
"I'm sorry."
Hollow gently shook his head.
"You don't have to apologize."
"The one who should've apologized..."
"...is gone."
The evening wind blew softly through the trees.
For the first time since The Day of Rupture...
Hollow allowed himself to grieve.
Not as the leader of !VVO.
Not as a feared mafia member.
But simply...
As Vincent's older brother.
