Nabar nodded in response to Saggar’s order. In seconds, he changed into his true form. He was a naga. He retained his handsome human face and muscular torso, but from the waist down, his body resembled that of a snake with a long and impressive tail.

Saggar faced the three women who couldn’t take their eyes off Nabar.

“As you can see ladies, Nabar turned all of you into nagas so, you could become Sidhs and he won’t be breaking any of Alfheimr’s laws if he marries one of you. His sole purpose was to find a wife for himself. But he cannot force any of you to become his wife. He cannot threaten you because I will protect you and he won’t be able to say or do anything if you reject him.”

He saw Emma Cloutier raising her right hand. He nodded and gestured that she could talk.

Emma walked toward him.

“My name is Emma. Before I changed into what I am now, I was a seventy-years-old woman. I was living in a nursing facility. My children who are now grown up and have their own family often neglect me and rarely visit or call me. When I try calling them, they would ignore me or make excuses why they cannot talk or visit me. My husband had long since divorced me to marry a younger and more beautiful woman. I was alone, lonely and miserable. Everyday, I prayed that death would take me so I would no longer suffer. But everything changed when Nabar came and kissed me. Because of that kiss, I became young and more beautiful than I have even been. My husband would grovel at my feet if he sees how beautiful I had become now.”

“You have also become a naga, Emma,” Saggar reminded the woman. “Half of your body is a snake.”

Emma smiled. In an instant she had transformed into a full human woman with long and shapely legs.

“Scylla had taught me how to use the powers I gained when I became a naga. And according to her, I will always remain young and beautiful since I am now a Sidh!”

Saggar was beginning to suspect what Emma’s next words would be.

“Because of what you have become you can never return to the human world,” Saggar reminded her.

“No one is waiting for me there. While here, a handsome husband and a new life awaits me. Nabar gave me a gift. A second chance in life.” She looked around using her long-lashed green eyes. “I have decided to live in this world!” she said, full of confidence.

“You don’t need to marry Nabar, Emma,” Saggar said. “You can have this new life and do whatever adventures you want. You can do whatever you want here in Alfheimr as long as you follow our rules.”

“I know,” Emma answered. “But I still want to be Nabar’s bride.”

Saggar saw Nabar smiled. He started to walk toward Emma.

“Wait!” shouted Olivia. “I also would accept Nabar as my husband.”

“I also want to become Nabar’s wife!” Sheila exclaimed.

Nabar was surprised. He looked at each of the women before him. He couldn’t speak or even move.

Nabar’s plan was to get himself a bride, but it seemed it never occurred to him the possibility that all three women would agree to become his bride!

Saggar wanted to roar with laughter. He already had a suspicion that this would happen. Before Olivia met the Kissing Bandit, she was a poor blind orphan. She never once experienced being loved or wanted. Sheila meanwhile was born ugly. She grew up being teased and ridiculed. And all the men she dared love either turned their backs on her or laugh at her face.

Nabar’s kiss took away all the women’s imperfections. It made them beautiful and powerful. He also offered love, security and a new life for them.

Nabar turned to Saggar. He was quietly asking for advice.

“You are the one who started all of this. And it’s just proper that you pay for all your transgressions. You have to marry all three of them, Nabar,” Saggar ordered.

Nabar’s mouth dropped open. But when he finally got over the shock, he began to smile. He nodded.

“I am more than willing to accept my responsibility! I will marry all three of them!”

In Alfheimr, a man can have more than one wife as long as he could provide for them all and love them equally. It was normal for a man to have two wives, but having three was something else. But Nabar’s face showed determination. He again faced the three women.

“I promise to love and care for all of you. I will make sure that I will love you all equally and take care of all your needs,” Nabar promised solemnly.

Nabar began to walk toward his future brides intending to hug all of them. Saggar snapped his fingers.

Nabar turned into a small green snake. The three future brides screamed with shock and dismay at what had befallen their future groom.

Saggar stood up from his chair. He approached Saggar and grabbed the tail of the green snake and dangled it in front of his face.

“You can only marry your brides, after you have finished paying for your crimes. And for your crimes, I am sentencing you three years. During those three years, you are not allowed to talk or come near your future brides. They would of course be living in your mansion and using your gold and gems for their daily expenses. If after you had finished your three-year sentence, then and only then will you get to marry them. But if any of them changed their minds and have decided not to go through with the wedding, you cannot force them.”

Despite becoming a small snake, Nabar’s groan of disappointment could be heard by everyone.

“Where would you imprison me, King Saggar?” Nabar finally asked.

“Who told you that you would spend your three-year sentence inside a jail? No. You will be working your butt off as my personal bodyguard and assistant! And you start working today! Scylla has already informed me that a new mission awaits me.”

Saggar turned to Mane.

“Mane, take care of Nabar’s future brides. Bring them to Nabar’s mansion. Nabar and I have to leave immediately for this important mission.”

Ever since Saggar pursued Nabar to the world of the humans, he had been using the form of a human male. It would be very inconvenient, even if he remained invisible, if he went in the human world in his true form. His true form wouldn’t also be practical to use while holding the trial. He would occupy half of the beach and even a slight movement from him might crush some of members of the audience if they were too near him.

But he no longer had any reason to remain in human form. He jumped from the stage. His enormous blue wings sprouted from his back as his body changed back to its true form. Nabar still in his snake form curled himself into one of his claws so as not to fall. As Saggar soared through the air, his shadow almost covered the whole area where the trial was held.

He always felt free and happy in his true form while flying. He let out a loud roar! His roar reverberated across the Eastern Realm. Scylla should have heard him from the palace. It was his signal to her to prepare his briefing for his new mission.
