The same car a week later. Jenny and the boy are driving home. The boy woke, startled. "It's happening again!"
Jenny looked over with a smirk, "No it's not. You're always a weirdo."
The boy chuckled in amusement, "I mean I'm having that dream again."
"You can't dream when you're awake."
"I went to sleep in the dorm..." he said.
Jenny rolled her eyes. "I'm ignoring you."
"You can't," He looked over at her, "It's my dream."
Jenny continued. "This is me ignoring you. Lalalalalalalala."
He interjected. "Call me what you used to call me."
She stopped mid-syllable. "What?"
"The old nickname."
"I call you that every day."She looked over at him. "You said you didn't like it."
He responded, "I kinda miss it."
"You miss it." She rolled her eyes again. "From ten minutes ago."
"Humor me."
She sighed. "Fine. Booger Machine."
He laughed, delighted. "It kinda grew on me."
"You're kinda freaking me out."
"Sorry." A beat passed between them before he asked. "What movies did we see tonight?"
"For real? 'Josie and the Pussycats', and 'Freddy Got Fingered'."
"Ouch" was all he could say.
"It's like I never want to watch a movie again." She said.
"We will, they aren't all as bad as those."
She frowned. "I suppose".
He turned back and spoke to himself "This is the second free movie. We were both out of school and we watched movies every weekend."
Exasperated, Jenny said, "I'm going back to ignoring you."
"Please don't!"
"Then stop acting weird." She said, "Be normal."
"Normal how?"
"For you?" She didn't have to think, her answer was immediate "Pick your nose? Fart and then laugh about it?"
The boy said with a laugh "The classics never die." He then yawned deeply.
"Not a fart, but I suppose it will do."
The boy smiled at Jenny and yawned again. "I think I'm waking up"
"I think you got that backward," she said. But he was already gone, asleep against the seat, and Jenny reached over and ruffled his hair, worry plain on her face even as she murmured, "Weirdo."
