The Trio Odyssey

Part I: Soul to Soul

Chapter 13: Ivadan Families

The morning has passed significantly, reaching 3MT, in the evening.

While the Princess is already in the Tutor Room within the Heto Palace with Professor Tacha.

The Princess doesn’t endure the long hours of the class, instead she enjoys it all.

The Professor does more of her lectures, writing onto the board and recapping about how magic works within this world, Nulhym.

“Now, we will recap with the fundamentals of the Occult Ability and its divisions, the Occult Tetramery.”

“The Occult Ability is primarily the extra ability that each of us humans possess through the manifestations of the Chimerics.”

“Chimerics are the magical beasts that we have to tame and within our shackles of restraints, they will serve us as media to produce Occult Synthesis, or the Osyn.”

“First of all, we do have a certain amount of Occult Energy, or the Oen, once we have developed the range between the ceiling of Oen, or the Amplitude, and the point of zero, the Plane.”

“And, we grow the Amplitude from the Belief; the more we believe this Oen, Chimerics, and whatsoever exist, understanding them profoundly, and we become deeply rooted to them, the more our Belief increases our Amplitude. Thus, the more our Oen increases.”

The Princess’s focus shifts alternately between the Professor’s face and the board, listening carefully to the Professor’s ongoing explanations.

The Professor jots down an equation that the Princess usually sees in most classes that she has gone to. And, the Professor resumes using that equation.

“Now that we have Oen, or basically the source of Occult Ability.”

“What we need to do next, if we wish to produce a desired amount of Osyn, is that we should cap our Oen by a scalable amount of Occult Value, or the Ove, the intensity.”

“The ratio of Oen over Ove that we control, is what determines our produced amount of Osyn, the impact.”

The Professor points out the equation, addressing ‘Oen over Ove is equal to Osyn.’

“Once our Oen is used up, we exhaust our Oen. But worry not, this Oen is ever fluctuating within the range, so we might somehow find out that our Oen never runs out.”

“Unless, we use the device called the Enhancer, it makes our Oen to stay floating from touching the Plane.”

After that, the Princess raises her hand quickly, shouting at the Professor.

“Professor! Why do I have a high amount of Occult Energy, and Mom does too?”

“It’s called the Inheritance Effect. The blood of the parent is shared to the blood of the offspring; what is actually shared is not Oen, but its ceiling, the Amplitude.”

“It could mean Her Majesty, Raesha, and more precisely, your ancestors from the Cazdae Empire had long since developed their Belief highly that increased their Amplitude and delivered this Inheritance Effect to their descendants.

The Princess nods violently as she understands the Professor’s elucidation, flying her bangs up and down.

A long time ago, the way the Professor explained things to the Princess was completely different than it is now; it’s way difficult to teach a younger child such a structured information, so she had to simplify things a lot.

But now, the Professor pivots her way of lecturing to a higher degree of language because she has drilled the information about the Occult Ability and others gradually across the Princess’s growth until now.

Next, The Professor erases the notes of the equation, and other information too.

“Next up. The Occult Tetramery— it simply means the Occult Ability is divided into four distinct Factions; the Physical Faction, the Elemental Faction, the Spiritual Faction, and the Cosmical Faction.”

“It doesn’t end there—, there are subdivisions under each Faction. And, I assume you already know pretty much a lot of them, Ma’am. They’re mostly in the Book of Tetramery. If you want to check it out, it would take days to explain each one of them.”

The Princess responds in excitement.

“Alright, alright~, Professor!”

The Professor continues with her lectures, while she takes out a huge, physical, paper scroll out of her handbag.

“Now…”

She pulls the scroll’s seals open and make a surprise.

“Starting off with today’s actual lesson: History's Influence on ‘Nulhym World Map Floor II’!”

The Princess gasps excessively, reacting on the new topic.

“Whoa—h!”

The ‘Nulhym World Map Floor II’; it shows a clear drawing of the continents across the planet, Nulhym.

The Princess brings her face closer to the map sharply, while Maia murmurs from within.

‘So, this is the map!!’

She takes a closer look with deep breaths, thrills and curiosity, commenting on the shape of the continents within the map.

‘This is… No… This is… It’s way different than Earth! It’s an exoplanet, undoubtedly! Its continent is not even looking like a cat playing with Australia, though!’

The Princess lifts her head upward fast, asking more question about the map.

“Professor, why do you say that this is ‘Nulhym World Map Floor II’? What does that exactly mean?”

“That means, there are four floors of the world map in total; Nulhym World Map Floor I, Nulhym World Map Floor II, Nulhym World Map Floor III, Nulhym World Map Floor IV.”

The Professor clears her throat, getting back straight to her point.

“But for today, we’re only going to cover for the second.”

Maia mumbles inwardly while she’s left in the dark.

‘Huh—, so many floors… That’s strange…’

The Professor starts to rewind the history, telling more about the topic that she teaches the Princess for.

“Back to the main topic: based on the Annals by the Chronicler Recordings, after the Founding Father of the Ivada Federation, His Majesty, Movre Dais,”

“the huge Kingdoms; Dotem the East, Monaziad the North, and Dumaja the West, already existed by the time, with different names. And, each of the kingdom’s territories are different too…”

Then, after the entire lesson ended, 8 hours of class have passed.

And so, the clock has already ticked at 4MT, and the class ends while the Princess runs out of the Tutor Room.

The Professor yells at the Princess, preventing her from running around too much.

“Ma’am, please watch where you run or else you might bump into someone!”

The Princess pauses for a moment, turning her back and looking at the Professor.

“Okay, Professor!”

Then, she runs away, but way faster than before.

The Professor sees that, massaging her throbbing forehead with a sigh.

Soon after that, when Raeké’s running across the corridor, she finds two boys walking from the side that she’s running toward.

Even from afar, she does recognize them, but they’re not the same duo brothers back in the Royalty Gatherings of the Ivada Federation,  not Lisole, not Randar.

She’s striding toward them, shouting their names and waving at them at the same time.

“Brother Kinasa! Brother Rouseht!”

But once she reaches right in front of them, their expressions are all gloomy and exhausted.

Rouseht Nan Souht, or Rouseht, the half brother of Raeké, is the first one to answer. While Kinasa remains silent, he always does, but gives a lot of sighing.

“Oh—, it’s you, Raeké…”

“Huh—…”

Raeké has no idea about why they’re not like they’re their usual selves, becoming curious.

“Huh—, what’s the matter?”

Rouseht’s slightly increasing his voice.

“We’re both just got back from Harda the City Reserve, you know!…”

Afterward, he goes quiet.

And then, Kinasa Nan Souht, or just Kinasa, another half brother of Raeké, whispers, although he’s heard a little by Rouseht and Raeké.

“Father…”

Raeké becomes even more curious.

“Dad? What did Dad do?”

Rouseht connects Kinasa’s points.

“Yes… He had put us through a very tough period of training while we stayed there.”

Raeké harbors a sense of pity for them.

“I see… It must be tough for you two…”

After that, she asks one more question.

“Anyway, where do you plan to go after this?”

Rouseht says with very low energy.

“Just… Sleep, I guess.”

And, Kinasa nods, feeling the same as Rouseht does.

Raeké wraps up with their conversation, while she continues to run past them.

“Okay—, bye~!”

Back to Raeké’s perspective, she’s literally meandering around the Heto Palace for no reason until she sees Meria and Kostana walking together side by side, the same way they do back at the Ceremonial Hall.

Raeké runs toward them the same way she does when she approaches Rouseht and Kinasa.

“Big Sis Kostana! Big Sis Meria!”

And then, Meria notices Raeké’s voice right away, answering her call while Kostana just looks with her lips sealed.

“Oh—, hi! Raeké!”

Raeké energetically answers Meria.

“Hi!”

Once Raeké arrives in front of them, she looks up due to the difference in height.

At first she looks at Meria and then, Kostana. However, Kostana flinches with a snort.

Meria constantly follows Kostana’s direction. Then, she sets her face back to Raeké.

“Ahaha—… Raeké, are you free now? Let’s play some board games. If you do, I promise that Kostana will join too.”

Kostana’s shoulder jumps and her jaw drops, instantly turning against Meria’s idea.

“Ahh—, what? Hey, how dare you drag me into this!”

Raeké seems enthusiastic about it, she immediately agrees.

“Whoa—, yes! I want to!”

While Meria emphasizes Kostana to come and join the board game, Kostana’s still stubborn and is fighting against it.

“It’s alright, it’s alright, just join! It would be fun~.”

“No, no, no! I would never—”

Finally, they all joined, sitting inside the Royal Library within the Heto Palace.

Maia questions the board games while she tags along with Kostana and Meria.

‘So—, these Nulhym’s board games are just like the ones you would see on Earth… I see… isn’t this basically an otherworld version of a mini politics game, huh—?’

A few minutes later, Meria hits the final shot up her sleeve.

“Ah—haa—~! Yes, I won!”

Kostana grumbles as she watches Meria attains the first place winner, looking down at the board game.

“Hngh—!”

While Kostana is all grumpy, Raeké accidentally throws a move that makes her the second place winner, finalizing Kostana as the third.

Meria bursts out in laughter, knowing that Kostana actually lost.

“Bahahaha—! No way, you lost to Raeké! Hahaha!”

Kostana’s rage-baited, she smashes the table, sending some playthings from the board game they played, flying.

“Hahahaha—!”

While Meria’s still laughing and pointing at Kostana, Kostana tends to ignore her.

She leaves her seat and picks up the fallen playthings and places them back onto the table.

And then, she leaves, grabbing some books.

Maia becomes lost in her wonders after observing things.

‘Huh—, so this is how the royal actually lives… I mean I really thought that they would use archaic language all the time or something…’

The figures on the coast tell her something that others don’t.

A soul from Earth, who has lost her life and past memories, wakes up trapped and transmigrated into the body of Raeké Issocelle Cazdae.

Raeké is a young, supercomplex princess, carrying the Royal blood of the Cazdae Empire and the Ivada Federation, though the soul merely carries that identity.

Those nations are two active, mega-nations; influential empires within their respective civilizations, rivaling one another in an exoplanet, Nulhym, during the nascent futuristic era.

Her dual birthright makes her the most contested prize in a cold war neither side intends to lose, Royals scheming and others’ wanting her erased entirely.

Her refusal to any agendas escalates the stakes of her survival in ways she can’t perceive and anticipate.

Now that learning about the world itself becomes a necessity rather than an option because it can outlast any empire.

As the world itself is vast, awaiting her odyssey and discovery, a realization clicks: it had long since lost its own balance power-wise.

However, the odyssey isn’t hers alone, but is shared with many of those who remain conscientious, forming an aligned goal, vowing to set off, discover, extrapolate and learn.

The deeper they go, the more they know how much of this world was deliberately buried to be unseen, forgotten and cornered to extinction.
